Hi guys im trying to censor out profanity in my iMovie project, so far i put the little beep sound at the part where i want to block but as it plays it plays the beep AND the curs word so you can hear it, how can i make it so that ONLY the beep can be herd and not the curs word, like mute that part of the clip.. Someone help? i can't seem to find a way.
Oh and by the way im using iMovie '08
Alright so I was making this video that was really really really difficult to do and I got to like 3:00 of it today and I've been saving, then it just freezes and refuses to do anything. I then realise my external drive somehow turned off for a random reason, so I plugged it back in and it started working again, but then I reopened my project and I get this error

I click on ignore all and it's all in the trash, and what really pisses me off about this is that it took me weeks and weeks and weeks of time to do, there's no way I can redo this all over again. What can I do to get rid of the skipped message and make it all work again�
I have a project file that was created using iMovie 5 HD. In this project file were a large number of unused clips and also the final film, edited with transitions, backing music, end credits, etc.
However when I import this project file into iMovie 8 I cannot find the final edited film anywhere, just all the clips that were both used and unused within the project file.
How can I get the final film back without spending about a week re-editing everything?
I'm sorry if this has already been posted. I looked for the answer on here and couldn't find it. I NEED HELP...BAD! I have Leopard and I was working in iMovie on a project and when i finished i went to save it and then the color wheel came up for over 5 minutes and then it automatically shut down imovie! i lost the whole project that took me over 5 hours to do! i still have the DV files that i imported, but not the editing that i did! i havent used TIME MACHINE due to the fact that i dont have a external HD. View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I have all of my imovie projects backed up on my external harddrive, as well as the imovie program. I accidentally deleted all of the imovie projects and events from the imovie application on my laptop. When I try to re-import the imovie files into imovie, it doesn't recognize the files. I have tried to convert them with iSkySoft Video Converter. That converter program does not recognize the files either. I also tried burning the files onto a disc and then pulling them off the disc with the Handbrake program. This doesn't work either. I also tried importing the files into iMovie HD, which I have on my desktop, but to no avail. Are these files alll useless now? I'm at my wits end because I have spent literally months compiling footage for a documentary.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a 13" Unibody MBP, lower-end model, in July. Since then I've noticed various issues.
First of all, I have the common beachball problem. There's no click/beep sound associated with it like some have, and I've noticed clearing out my cache and occasional restarts have helped that. But in general things seem to be much slower than when I first got it... But of course I have many more programs installed, but very few are actually running.
I remember it being nearly completely silent when I first got it. Now I can hear noises when it loads web pages, applications, etc. that reminds me of the noise you'd head from an old desktop. Was I just imagining that it was silent before? The fans seem to run more often, as well.
Also, my audio jack is more and more often not detecting when something is plugged in to it. Usually putting it in to sleep and waking it back up helps.
Anyway, all of these together make me wonder if I should be paying a visit to the Apple store, and if so, what should I ask?
How do i share just part of my project? I selected the clips I want to share but when I go to share it wants to share the whole project. I just want to share half of it?

What I'm trying to do is take a 5 second audio clip from a piece of video (a bunch of 3 year olds screaming happy birthday) and use it as audio over a still image to start the video. I detached the audio that I want to use, highlighted it and copied it. I can't figure out how to use it elsewhere. Maybe it's not possible to do this in iMovie 09?

I then tried to export it HD (8gb) and it eventually failed, saying it had no space left. Even though the movie wasnt exported, it took my 12gb left down to 4gb, so I tried high quality exporting, and it almost finished but failed right at the end, complaining of no space, and even when the file wasnt where I asked it to be it still took my memory away, now leaving me with 400mb. I want to know if I can export the movie to my external harddrive (plug in usb) as an mp4 file, and if so how? This would be a HUGE help as I dont want to have wasted so much time!
So i finished my first ten-minute long short film, i'm really proud of it. I wanted to share the whole thing in 1080p HD and then import it into after effects for some finishing touches. I did sharing < media sharing < 1080p hd.
1. Where did my movie go? it doesn't show up in iMovie anymore, and I found a big file over 1GB which appears to be my movie (but no way is it in 1080p, and I filmed with a sony HDR xr520v). I cant put that back into iMovie nor after effects.
2. Can I import this file into after effects cs4 and then re-export it in an equal quality?
So I literally just spent hours putting together a video for school. I exited out of iMovie knowing it was supposed to save the file on its own. I open it back up to check on it and *poof* it's completely gone. I searched my hardrive and the file exists but it will not open with iMovie or Quicktime. Is there any way to recover this video?

Just installed a second Samsung F1 500GB (HD502IJ) hard drive in my 2x1.8 G5 Power Mac. I have the "Energy Saver" option on default and the system turns the hard drives off when they're not being used. Everything is working good with this drive except one thing: When the system turns the Samsung to sleep, there's a tiny beep/sound, like coming from the motherboard or something. So I was wondering:
1. Should there be a beep on sleep?
2. How do I turn this annoying beep off?

Am hearing a beep tone every 5 seconds when I startup my iMac computer. It is on macosx.
The last time I used it was when I was playing starcraftII and I shut down without removing the CD like I usually do. But this time when I startup the iMac does not boot up. I have tried resetting the SMC and it didn't work. I pressed down the mouse while startup and the CD didn't come out but I started to hear these beep tones, when I startup now. Thought it might be the memory card so removed them and tried starting up without them and then tried one by one and I still getting the beep tones, will I lose my hardisk as well if I keep rebooting too many times like this? How to get the CD out and startup the iMac properly?

I bought a MacBook Pro 13" in August 2011. A few days ago, I started to get a triple alarm sound (beep, plus battery indicator light flashes three times) and the system freezes (no keyboard or trackpad input, screen stays on). The triple beep continues until I shut it off through the power button.

I used Handbrake to rip the movie My Best Friend's Girl like I do all my movies. The problem is the sound is off by about 5 seconds on playback. I tried messing around with it but didn't get too far. Does anyone know the best way to help set the audio right? Is there a feature I'm not seeing, or will I have to export the sound from the whole movie and add it back in as an audio track to the movie?

to tell you the situation,
i made a video and it has a talking Gecko in it and I'm being told that it's copyright of Geico, even though that's because a company can't copyright an animal. But, anyway. Now where I said "Gecko" i need to say "Lizard" instead.
I have to do this video project and I used Photobooth with the Macbook iSight to record it and I edited it with iMovie, but right as I was about to finish editing the last scenes, iMovie stopped playing sound. If I slowly scroll or hover over the video frames it will play the audio, but not then the video is being played. and the audio wave button is on, but the green audio bars won't even display while the video is playing, but will when I'm hovering over video layers.
