I have been asked to send some photos to company, and to watermark them as property of that company. I have never done it before, and indeed am not sure what it exactly means. I think it mean it will have invisible data in the files metadata stating " Property of..." etc.
How can I do this.....clear and simple please as I'm no expert.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently given up on anything PC and moved to Mac. Mostly I am very happy with my decision but a couple of things niggle me and I don't seem to be able to change them.
In imail when delete an email from any of my mail accounts or the inbox, imail automatically selects the next newest email. I would like it to select the next oldest email. Is there anyway of changing this?
I know this is quite petty! but I'm just used to it working that way in outlook and keep deleting email I want to keep.
I'm looking to set some virtual hosts up in Terminal. I'm accessing the set up fine (sudo nano /private/etc/hosts)
But I can't figure out what I need to do in order to enter IP addresses and URL's. None of the HotKeys listed at the bottom of the screen seem to give me what I want.
is it possible to set "loop" movies & audio files in quicklook so that you don't need to press play again all the time? is there anywhere a setting or "workaround" (aka "break" into some pref-file and set the preference somewhere to "loop")

View 18 Replies View RelatedI'm subscribed to about 10 differet podcasts, and I just realised that there hasn't been a new episode of any of them in a while. I right clicked them all in turn, and chose Update Podcast, and lo and behold, a whole slew of episodes started downloading. For some of them there are even more than 1 episode that hasn't downloaded. Can anyone tell me why iTunes doesn't automatically download new episodes of these subscribed podcasts? iTunes is set to check everyday for new episodes, but simply seems to have not bothered! This has happened a few times before too.
EDIT - From iTunes saying that there are no new episodes of any of my subscribed to podcasts, I've ended up with 20 downloads after manually checking.
If I forward an HTML e-mail manually, it appears the same to the recipient as it does to me, i.e. properly formatted. However, if I forward using a Rule, it appears to get sent as plain text with all the images in the mail as attachments.
why Forwarding should be different when done via a Rule rather than manually? I can't find any settings that may affect this.
I want to have access to certain cooking videos without needing to access the internet. Is there a good OSX program that can do this?

I was very excited like everyone to install new Safari 4 and the excitement sustained for a while. Ubiquitously, it is visually delightful meeting Apple Standards. However, I lost lot of plugins that I had for earlier Safari version. Plugins like: DivX player, Real player are gone after I installed the new version. It is not recognizing by itself if there are missing plugins and neither I see an option where I can install by myself.

Some examples: Word -12.7 MB and Pages - 273.4 MB: Excel - 11.7 MB and Numbers - 138.6 MB. Both Word and Excel are sophisticated programs and I would have assumed they would be large, and that since Pages and Numbers are relatively new so they would be lean, but the opposite seems to be the case. They all work well except Numbers is slow. Is that a function of size? Is obesity epidemic in programming as well as programmers?

What is holding me is I think its quite an investment buying a MBP and a Mac Pro at the same time. I was wondering.........because I also need a notebook......would an MBP also do the job doing all the processing of Photoshop? (It still needs to go very smooth like on a desktop so no hicks during any actions.) If so...then I could first buy a MBP and later on a Mac Pro. I definately need the notebook on location.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI had a problem with my iMac in that the second monitor kept flickering black every few seconds. After much pulling out of hair, I managed to sort it by using SwitchResX, creating a new resolution with a slightly different refresh rate.
Well, I've now reinstalled Leopard, and I'm not sure what files SwitchResX modified. I have a mountable backup image of the old installation and I just need to know what files to copy across.
I've copied over Users/Me/Library/Preferences/ByHost/(URL).6881753F-E268-5D65-B162-DE4A346FC4E3.plist
and
I *think* one other one (I cant remember which .plist file it was).
Rebooted and I still have the problem, so I assume I've missed the correct file....
I dont know what settings I used either so can't redo it.
I was wondering exactly how the drag and drop function works. If I drag a file from the desktop to documents, I am assuming it is moved, not copied? If I drag a file from the desktop onto a flash drive, I am assuming it is copied?
Which leads me to: dragging a song from iTunes onto a folder in the desktop and then dragging that folder onto a flash drive. I am assuming the iTunes song will be in the new folder and on the flash drive? I thought there was something weird about having to have the iTunes songs in the iTunes folder?
And finally, if I decided to make an alias folder with songs (let's say it was an artist folder within all the iTunes folders and I made an alias on the desktop), and I dragged that alias folder onto a flash drive, would the flash drive's folder have the real files of the songs?
How do i "Create a Symbolic Link"? I downloaded off apple's website an Automater script by Junecloud, but I can't get it to work!
Can anyone give me easy step by step instructions? I followed that on the Instructions file from Junecloud, I right-click on a folder and go to "Create symbolic Link" but nothing happens.
Safari seems to have changed and I don't know how to get back to default preferences. Suddenly, it is wiping (visual) open, rather than opening the way every other application does with the last site visited, even though preferences are set to open with homepage. The top apple bar with the apple on the left and my name on the right hides when safari is open

My bluetooth is suddenly "unavailable" on my MBP. I cannot find any settings for it in system preferences and it just basically died. When I look it up on "about my Mac" is says it's "not found." Can no longer use my mouse, or connect my Bose wireless speaker (which I just purchased!).

I have set up icloud on all my devices (iphone and ipad) and i tried to set it up on my mac and it wont let me check the 'find my mac' box.
it is the same icloud device.
I recently bought an iMac and I have noticed within the past week that I have had to force the mail program to shut down. Otherwise if I don't force the mail program to shut down the OS will not let me put the iMac to sleep or to shut down.

Have a mid 2010, 13" mbp; read some posts, but can't find it under system> keyboard settings...
A few years ago I decided to put all my DVD's in storage and rip them in divx/h264 format to an external HD that I plugged into my PS3 for easy access. The problem is that when my GF and I want to watch a movie, I have to explain each movie and we choose one based on the title without access to the movie cover or any meta data. I was wondering if there was a program akin to itunes that would go through my hard drive and (with some help with me) identify each movie and find the cover art etc. I don't know how automatic this will be. I don't mind spending some time assisting the program but I don't want to go and do it by hand.
If you find a windows software I can run it on virtualbox as well.
