Ideally I'd like to have an app with which I can store these recordings but in which I can also add a text description so that if in the future I need to refer back, I know where to look. I'd just want something with a list showing:
28th August - Discussed conference, ideas about x, plan to run simulations varying y and z
4th September - Discussed work on writing w routine, discussed initial x results.
I realise that chances are there's nothing simple enough to do this kind of thing for me and so I might have to resort to something far more bulky and so I'm open to options for more bulky things.

Jul 19, 2009I have lots of stuff recorded in local studios with various vocal quartets as well as stuff done on my 4 track and eight track recorders, my problem is that when I try to download them into iTunes (all now on CD) it does not see them as individual recordings (even when the album title and song info is on the original disc as in studio recordings and some of my home recorded stuff). The result is that I record the first album without a problem and give it a title, then, when I download the second album it simply adds it to the first, so that the first track of the second album starts with the next number after the last track of the first ie the last track of the first album is say 14, the first track of the second is 15.
More to the point I cannot give the second album it's own name and the only way to access it is bring up the first album and select track 15. I am sure this is because they are not 'Professional' recording even though they were made in pro studios, the titles do not appear in any search lists. Load my non commercial CDs into iTunes in such way that I can access them as individual recordings and not just a giant list of everything that I have recorded in my lifetime. For the record I might add that I think the whole iTunes programme is counter intuitive and a complete pain in the nether regions to navigate, but I will put up with it since it is one of very few things that get me down about my Mac Pro.

Jan 19, 2009When I am recording with the built in cam (isight) in imovie ("capturing" the video), there is no sound. I have gone through and looked at all input settings on the mac and in the application. when I pull up the settings box, I can even see the sound "bars" go up when I make noise. But no noise in the recordings.

But my iTunes is on my Mac and I'd really like to get a recording off of the recorder and into iTunes. I tried mailing the recording from a pc, opening and downloading it on my Mac but it comes up as garbled text.

Jun 9, 2009I have about 5 songs that are vinyl rips and they are in apple lossless. But for some reason when I go to sync them to my iPod i get an error and it says that they can't be sync'd. I attatched a screenshot of the songs info. I'm not really sure why it doesn't want to sync since itunes plays it fine and it's in the right format.

Nov 12, 2009Whenever I press sync in iTunes, it starts doing all sorts of things like backing up the ipod touch, downloading the applications which takes forever. Is there a way just to sync the podcasts? I have gone through all the various settings and deselected everything that might be causing this.
I don't know why many have used ml_ipod with winamp in the past but I had a good thing going. But unfortunately Apple seems to have broken the support with the latest firmware.

ITunes :: Voice Memos Not Appearing In Iphone Playlists?
Feb 14, 2012I have about 100 voice memos recorded on my iPhone 3GS and which have successfully synched with my MacBook Pro, which i recently upgraded to Lion. When I open up iTunes, there they all are listed in my Voice Memos playlist.
The voice memos are lists of french vocabulary and so I created themed playlists in iTunes on my mac and arranged the voice memos in the different playlists. When I open the playlists on my Mac's iTunes, they are all there. I have synced them with my phone and the name of the playlists appears on my phone but when I open the playlists, they are empty. I am manually selecting music and playlists to be synced. i have checked the boxes for:
sync music
selected playlists, artists...
playlists (the specific playlists)
and in the genres topic, i have selected voice memos i created a music playlist just now and that works fine, but not with memos.

Jun 11, 2012I saved several voicemails from my landline (Comcast Digital Voice). They are saved in a folder in my Documents folder but also are showing up in my iTunes library. They are saved as .wav files. I want to keep them (one is my last voicemail from my dead mom) but I don't want them showing up in my library of songs in iTunes, being synced with the rest of my songs on all my devices. Is there any way to remove them from my iTunes library while keeping them saved on my hard drive in my Documents folder?

ITunes For Mac :: Screensaver Stopped Working - No Voice Memos
Dec 1, 2014I have a sizeable iTunes library and enjoy the iTunes screensaver. However, after a recent update (not sure which version of Lion), the screensaver stopped working. At first System Preferences would crash every time I changed to another option and then changed it back (did not get the error message, it was a few weeks ago), but now I just have a black screen that says "Your iTunes Library does not contain any songs with artwork." I have over 80GB and most albums have artwork. My library is not on an external hard-drive, just in the regular Music folder.
I looked at other suggestions online indicating I should delete my voice memos (or at least duplicate ones). I didn't realize I had one, but I deleted it both from iTunes and the folder. This had no effect.
I also used the "Get Album Artwork" function to see if this would work, and nothing changed.
I also deleted com.apple.iApps.plist as suggested by another thread.
Obviously it's not the end of the world not to have my preferred screensaver, but at this point I just want to solve the problem because I've tried so many options.

Way bigger than will fit on the 250gb drive on my macbook. So I am looking for a way to sync my macbook in the same fashion as an iPod. I want to choose a few playlists to send over and keep synced. Maybe 50gb or so of data so that when I am away from my main computer I can have music with me. The reason I want to do this is my 30GB ipod recently dove off the deep end and I dont have the finances to get a new one yet. But I usually have my laptop with me most places and like to listen to music. I have found ways to keep 2 libraries synced but not be able to partially sync one. Dec 9, 2009I have a 30 GB iPod and a Macbook. I have synced my iPod once on my Macbook and it worked fine.
I brought my iPod to work (which only has PCs), and I've been charging my iPod on the PC. The PC doesn't have iTunes, so the PC treats the iPod like it's just a mass storage device but it still charges fine. Also, the "Format" label under the settings in the iPod now says "Windows."
Now I am wanting to re-sync my iPod to my Mac to add more music, but when I do, the Mac doesn't acknowledge that the iPod is even connected (not even in the Finder window).

Jul 16, 2008So i have an ipod classic and quite a few songs on there. But i have a problem that occurs every time i sync, it will recopy and replace the same 109 songs every time i sync. They are not in any certain order, or playlist, they have not been recently added, or modified, or played, or had added artwork. Just every time i sync, even if i sync, unplug, then sync, they will copy all over again.

Aug 2, 2008Ever since iTunes 7.7 and iPhone 2.0, podcasts aren't syncing properly. I have mine set so only those that's never been listened to before gets synced to the iPhone. Since the updates, this sync has been inconsistent. Sometimes, it behaves as expected, but other times, podcasts that I've listened to on the iPhone retains the blue dot on iTunes after a sync. Thus, the podcast is also labeled "new" again on the iPhone after the sync. Not sure if iTunes 7.7 or the iPhone 2.0 update caused this since they both came out around the same time. iTunes 7.7.1 is installed and still the same inconsistent behavior. Anyone with non touch iPods seeing this? Trying to figure out if it's an iPhone/touch issue or an iTunes issue.
