View 2 RepliesLast month I ditched my landline as we wern't ever using it anymore. Well after doing so I remembered that my Fantasy Baseball draft is next month and we do that via a conference call as we have league members from all over the US.
Now, I could use my iPhone (and I may have to) but we all know all the iPhone has some issues with dropped calls from time to time.
So I was wondering if there anything on the market that would allow me make calls via VOIP on my Mac? Ideally free or even a 30 day free trail.
I have installed Express talk for activate for my Freecall account. But its showing error message.
how do i talk using freecall account for my mac.
Anyone know of an IM that is compatible with MSN Messenger that has Voice over I.P. capabilities?
My family (mac users) has friends and family who are international and who use MSN for Windows for Voice over I.P.
Obviously we would like to communicate with them via voice. and MSN Messenger fot the Mac is a no go and iChat is a no go.
Right now my dad is still using OS 9 but I'll be getting him and iMac or eMac soon.
Which is the best torrent client for MacBook Pro?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAll right, I'm wondering what the best IM client for OSX is at the moment? Preferably with video chat and an iPhone version.
I'm currently trying trillian on OSX, seeing if its any good. And I've had a look at adium but trillian looks better.
I just downloaded the new Yahoo 3.0 for the mac with the VOIP feature, and it is awesome. I downloaded a phone number and for 1 penny a minute can call practically anywhere. And for $2.49 a month, I can receive calls too. I am about to get an ipod touch...and was wondering if anyone knows if it is compatible with yahoo voice? I know the touch doesn't have a mic...but perhaps there is a way around this with a headset? Even if you can't talk...can you use yahoo instant messenger and check voicemails? I know the app store opens soon...yahoo should definitely do something about this if not.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically, i have never had a headset before and would like one to use for skype.
if i have a 12 inch g4 1.3 ghz powerbook, do i have any options other than blue tooth?
do they make usb ones on the cheap? what are the second 3.5mm jack on the side of my computer? i know one of them is the headphones output; what is the second one
What I find is that I start to naturally use the same headset when I'm using my MBP - just because it's often round my neck anyway.
Wouldn't it be great if I could use the MIC from the headset with the MBP as well? Then I could use it properly for iChat/Skype calls.
I'm wondering if it should be possible for someone to manufacture an adaptor that fits the special 4-contact plug on the headset, and separates off the mic part so that it creates 2 normal mini jack plugs, that could be plugged into the MBP headphone & mic sockets. Would be great. Anyone heard of such a thing?
headset mic with excellent audio quality for VoiP and listening to music? I currently use a set of Sennheiser PX100s and a desktop mic and would like to consolidate.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a router in one room that sends out a wireless signal. I want my time capsule to join that network and share the internet connection through the ethernet ports on the back. This way, I can hook up a voip phone in another room. Is this possible and how would you go about setting it up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering what the best IRC client for OS X is. I've had a google, and tried out a few (like Colloquy), but nothing has really stood out so far.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using quite happily TightVNC on windows to connect my MP. Now I'm using MBP, so is there any decent VNC client for OsX where you can define zoom by % or slider. Preferably free or cheap. Apple's "Screen sharing" offers only scaling on or off, which are for me either too small or too big.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's called Weet and looks good so far. try it. [URL]

View 24 Replies View Relatedwhen I was out trying to set up a development environment on my Mac. (SVN, Bug Tracking, etc.)
It's called Versions, and it's still in beta, but it seems really stable, and it's one of the best SVN clients I've ever used. I have no affiliation with the company or product at all, so this isn't a plug. I've just been using it constantly to manage some Xcode projects and a few other important documents between Macs, and I thought I'd share.
I need a torrent client for downloading stuff but i can't decide which to use.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an FTP client that has a versioning system like that of SVN. Is there such an app?For instance, I'd like to be viewing the files to my website in the FTP client and know which files I've made changes to on my local system so I know if I should upload. Does the ftp file server have to be an svn host?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an FTP/SFTP client that won't stop responding when dealing with a folder that has thousands of files. Yummy FTP and Transmit don't handle them very well when you get past 20,000 or so.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to upload some files to my website. So I am looking for an advanced FTP client software solution designed for ease of use by both novices and professionals. It should be powerful and secure file transfer solution. It should also have total control, security, efficiency, and simplicity. If you people have any idea then please let me know.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I was using the older CISCO VPN client and now need the CISCO Anyconnect client as well. Anyconnect would not install, it kept telling me that there was already a newer version installed already? So I thought maybe it was the older CISCO VPN client (that I will also need later) so I used APpZapper to remove it. I am still getting that error message when the installer gets to the disk selection screen.
Has anyone seen this before? I have no clue where to go from here.
Macbook Pro 2.8Ghz

I've been using Mail.app for my gmail accounts for quite a while now - but it seems that Mail just isn't designed for gmail. For example - when I search for a message, each message will appear two or more times (located in Inbox & All Mail, not inc. any labels), archiving messages isn't exactly easy, and deleting messages doesn't quite.. delete messages.
Is there a way to make Mail.app more friendlier towards Gmail accounts or is there a better client for Mac for Gmail accounts?
I have a shiny new macbook and i need a good software phone that supports either SIP or IAX (prefer both) is reliable and can record calls. It would also be nice if it has support for G729.
So far I've found ZoIPer Business, which will set me back 36GBP($58 USD). I'm a bit wary of purchasing it, as I've used ZoIPer FREE and it seems to crash sometimes (i.e. it wont cleanly exit)
I've also tried X-Lite although this also seems very buggy and havent been able to make a successful call.
Is there something someone can recommend that they've used? or should i shutup and buy ZoIPer & not complain about the price?
So what is the best one? It would be nice to hear why it's best.
If there's no option for your choice tell us what you use.
What is the best bit torrent client to use? I was looking into Transmission but not sure how popular it is? What do you guys think?

Here is my wish list:
I want to log in with an [URL] account (from windows live).
All my old contacts must be in my list.
Also i want to be able to save my conversations automatically.
I want to be able to have the status: Appear offline.
Since i transfer files a lot, i want to send pictures and movies in a conversation.
And last but not least, i want to use my ISight!
I've been a happy Twitterrific customer on both Mac and iPhone for awhile now.
Recently, I've been fortunate to get an early peek at Kiwi from YourHead Software (of Rapidweaver plug-ins fame) - a new Mac Twitter client.
It's a sweet piece of work - especially for those with multiple Twitter accounts. Clean design, intuitive.
Yesterday, I got some invite codes to the early release which I'm posting here. If I get more, I'll post 'em too - but these are all I have right now.
Well I have a Mac. Most of my friends have a PC. I need to be able to webcam them ALL at one time together. I sort of need a program like OoVoO but I do not want to pay for a multicam chat. I do not want a website one either. I want one that is downloadable for both MAC AND PC and it needs to support multi webcam at one time. Do not say Skype because i do not like skype. Can somebody find m e one?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis may be...a bit odd...A friend and I like to watch movies together alot. Phone isn't available. Im getting tired of useing IM with a minimized moviescreen. Is there an app ( cross platform would be nice ) that has a built in movie player that also has a built in IM client? is there an add on to Adium for this?
