i jsut download ventrilo and i was just wondering if you could do anything on the app so you can call a land line or mobile phone? and if so, what information do i have to put in and were to make it possible?

I am wondering if it is possible to use my Macbook as a regular telephone using the Apple USB modem with my land line. Is there any software available that will do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI already use and love Google Voice, and I'm trying to figure out if it's feasible to consider using Google Voice to replace my home phone service.
What I'd need of to be able to pull this off would hardware replacement for my current home phone that I could connect to my computer that would ring when I receive a call on my Google Voice number, and that would display my GV caller ID when I dial out with it.
Something like this seems to be right up the ally of what I'm looking for (I think).
Last month I ditched my landline as we wern't ever using it anymore. Well after doing so I remembered that my Fantasy Baseball draft is next month and we do that via a conference call as we have league members from all over the US.
Now, I could use my iPhone (and I may have to) but we all know all the iPhone has some issues with dropped calls from time to time.
So I was wondering if there anything on the market that would allow me make calls via VOIP on my Mac? Ideally free or even a 30 day free trail.
The Yosemite overview states that I can answer and initiate calls. I can do neither. I have an IPhone 4S w/IOS 8.1.1. I have unlocked my phone and the results are the same.

When sent the invitation from a contact, I can answer, but there is no sound nor video. And when I send the invitation, it never arrives or loads. This has been going on for ages, and I am absolutely boggled as to what it is.

I have been using an FTP/SFTP app call cyberduck. It is good and it works except for one thing. When I open the app it connects to all my bookmarks. Is there a way to stop this?

Is anyone aware of anything similar for use with the iMac and Address Book?
I have a mac mini and have the application called "Wire Tap Pro" which will record any audio going through the mac. I would like to connect the land line phone next to the mac to the mac so I can record important conversations on the mac using "Wire Tap Pro". Does anyone know specifically what device I need to buy to make this connection?

I downloaded a phone number and for 1 penny a minute can call practically anywhere. And for $2.49 a month, I can receive calls too. I am about to get an ipod touch...and was wondering if anyone knows if it is compatible with yahoo voice? I know the touch doesn't have a mic...but perhaps there is a way around this with a headset? Even if you can't talk...can you use yahoo instant messenger and check voicemails? I know the app store opens soon...yahoo should definitely do something about this if not.

What I find is that I start to naturally use the same headset when I'm using my MBP - just because it's often round my neck anyway.
Wouldn't it be great if I could use the MIC from the headset with the MBP as well? Then I could use it properly for iChat/Skype calls.
I'm wondering if it should be possible for someone to manufacture an adaptor that fits the special 4-contact plug on the headset, and separates off the mic part so that it creates 2 normal mini jack plugs, that could be plugged into the MBP headphone & mic sockets. Would be great. Anyone heard of such a thing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was told my date and time was pre 2010 ?!?! checked and yup it was showing Jan 1st 2001.. set the date and time manually charged the iphone via USB then went out.Tried to text my wife and noticed her number was no longer recognised (Number only showing, not name) and that all texts sent this morning where appearing at the bottom of my text list not the top as normal (Figured this out as the iphone had synched with the messed up time and date on the Mac). I re entered her number and when I try to call it it tells me the number is not recognised??
