View 7 RepliesI've been a happy Twitterrific customer on both Mac and iPhone for awhile now.
Recently, I've been fortunate to get an early peek at Kiwi from YourHead Software (of Rapidweaver plug-ins fame) - a new Mac Twitter client.
It's a sweet piece of work - especially for those with multiple Twitter accounts. Clean design, intuitive.
Yesterday, I got some invite codes to the early release which I'm posting here. If I get more, I'll post 'em too - but these are all I have right now.
I have tried so many now .... Here is what I want/need:
1) Multiple accounts
2) instapaper/read it later integration with links
3) easy marking of "read" tweets
4) This is the most important: I want to be able to place different people I follow into groups, like I was with seesmic for windows ... for example, I can put some people into a "tech" group and some into a literary" etc ... Why is this so difficult to find?!?!
I use Twitterfon on my iPhone and like it a lot and am currently using TwitterPost on my Mac but am not that happy with it. It doesn't seem that Twitterfon is available for Mac but is there a similar Twitter client for the Mac or something that is better than TwitterPost?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a simple twitter client that you can customise like Adium. Where you can have the window transparent on the desktop. I've attached a quick mock up of what I'd like, but I can't find an app like this. Does anything like it exist?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't believe that twitter needs the 330M GPU, surely there's a client that uses the intel one??
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using Twitter client Tweetie on my Mac for about a year now with no problems
I tried reverting to earlier versions (1.2.5/1.2.4) and has the same problem. Forums/FAQ on Tweetie website have been of little use.
Any thoughts on how to get it working again? Running OSX 10.5.4, Macbook 2Ghz Intel Core Duo, 2GB RAM

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter discovering that the Tweetie app I use turns on the discrete GPU, I've been looking at alternatives to maximize battery life. A lot of twitter clients use Adobe Air, which also seems to get a bad rep, but is that because it drains battery life too, or because it's just buggy otherwise? So far I've been using twhirl without any obvious issues, and I'm testing out the battery usage with that running. I have to admit, I didn't notice any significant battery drain when Tweetie was running, so maybe I'm just overreacting here. If I remember right I got a little over 6 hours, and installed Tweetie about two hours after I turned my MacBook on then. I'd actually prefer twhirl since I use that on the desktop and I'm just used to it, but not if Adobe Air is going to cause problems on my shiny new MacBook.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAll right, I'm wondering what the best IM client for OSX is at the moment? Preferably with video chat and an iPhone version.
I'm currently trying trillian on OSX, seeing if its any good. And I've had a look at adium but trillian looks better.
I've been out of the Twitter game since Tweetie was the new thing on the block, now I want to dabble in Twitter again but I'm trying to find the good Twitter clients. Tweetie was awesome back in the day, I was shocked that it's been AGES since any form of update and that it lacks many of the new features from Twitter. I believe in supporting programmers but not when they let something go this stale and charge $20 for the full version. TweetDeck is awesome as ever but overkill for me being the casual Twitter user. I'd also like something that doesn't use another client (Adobe AIR) to run. What else is out there that's serving up updates to keep up with Twitter feature and API changes?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have started using Twitter for a business I'm running and am also going to be using other social networking sites such as Facebook, Plurk, LinkedIn, and possibly MySpace. I have heard that there are applications for sites such as Twitter to use on my Mac.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't allow Twitter access on the newest Adium beta. I click "Allow Adium Access," it opens a browser window with a sign in page, I sign in and I get a PIN. I then go back and say "I've allowed Adium access" and it gives me the error message: "An error occured while trying to gain access. Please try again." I deleted the adiumx plist, Adium 2.0 folder, Adium itself, etc. I'm on an MBP with 10.5.7, but still doesn't work!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm just wondering what the best IRC client for OS X is. I've had a google, and tried out a few (like Colloquy), but nothing has really stood out so far.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using quite happily TightVNC on windows to connect my MP. Now I'm using MBP, so is there any decent VNC client for OsX where you can define zoom by % or slider. Preferably free or cheap. Apple's "Screen sharing" offers only scaling on or off, which are for me either too small or too big.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat Client For Torrents would you suggest.
View 24 Replies View Relatedwhen I was out trying to set up a development environment on my Mac. (SVN, Bug Tracking, etc.)
It's called Versions, and it's still in beta, but it seems really stable, and it's one of the best SVN clients I've ever used. I have no affiliation with the company or product at all, so this isn't a plug. I've just been using it constantly to manage some Xcode projects and a few other important documents between Macs, and I thought I'd share.
I need a torrent client for downloading stuff but i can't decide which to use.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an FTP client that has a versioning system like that of SVN. Is there such an app?For instance, I'd like to be viewing the files to my website in the FTP client and know which files I've made changes to on my local system so I know if I should upload. Does the ftp file server have to be an svn host?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an FTP/SFTP client that won't stop responding when dealing with a folder that has thousands of files. Yummy FTP and Transmit don't handle them very well when you get past 20,000 or so.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to upload some files to my website. So I am looking for an advanced FTP client software solution designed for ease of use by both novices and professionals. It should be powerful and secure file transfer solution. It should also have total control, security, efficiency, and simplicity. If you people have any idea then please let me know.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I was using the older CISCO VPN client and now need the CISCO Anyconnect client as well. Anyconnect would not install, it kept telling me that there was already a newer version installed already? So I thought maybe it was the older CISCO VPN client (that I will also need later) so I used APpZapper to remove it. I am still getting that error message when the installer gets to the disk selection screen.
Has anyone seen this before? I have no clue where to go from here.

I've been using Mail.app for my gmail accounts for quite a while now - but it seems that Mail just isn't designed for gmail. For example - when I search for a message, each message will appear two or more times (located in Inbox & All Mail, not inc. any labels), archiving messages isn't exactly easy, and deleting messages doesn't quite.. delete messages.
Is there a way to make Mail.app more friendlier towards Gmail accounts or is there a better client for Mac for Gmail accounts?
I have a shiny new macbook and i need a good software phone that supports either SIP or IAX (prefer both) is reliable and can record calls. It would also be nice if it has support for G729.
So far I've found ZoIPer Business, which will set me back 36GBP($58 USD). I'm a bit wary of purchasing it, as I've used ZoIPer FREE and it seems to crash sometimes (i.e. it wont cleanly exit)
I've also tried X-Lite although this also seems very buggy and havent been able to make a successful call.
Is there something someone can recommend that they've used? or should i shutup and buy ZoIPer & not complain about the price?
So what is the best one? It would be nice to hear why it's best.
