View 4 RepliesI have just scoured the internet and found a lot of quotes and copied them into a pages document, however it is not the most convenient way of seeing them.So I was wondering, is there a 'ticker' bar, similar to a sports ticker, that you can add text to and it will scroll the text along?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was thinking, for the next generation MacBook Air, would you want a slightly thicker (thickest part is 0.9in, tinnest is ~0.35in) laptop with a built in Superdrive, more ports, etc, or would you perfer that Apple moves away from this with a thinner computer (0.1in thinnest, 0.6in thickest), but with same limited ports.
I would actually perfer thicker with a superdrive, since I want an air but I want it to be like a MacBook but thinner. What do you think? Btw, this is assuming the regular MacBook does not change in size, since that would sway peoples opinions.
I want to see the screen of a Tiger machine on my Leopard machine - the Tiger machine is not on a local network but is on the internet. I have Apple remote Desktop 3.2, maybe leopards ichat will do it?
Can someone run me through it step by step??
Installed without problems on a 3 y.o. 15MBP and a new iMac. See no performance issues so far, but I HATE the fact that the FULL SCREEN photo viewing is no longer there! I just hate it, that there is absolutely no way to view pictures full screen. period. (this was THE MOST important feature of iPhoto.) As such, zooming in full screen is NOT available anymore either, instead of floating windows with adjustments, etc., zoom, effects, you get stupid permanent bars that you can't even move anywhere. Also, gone is ability to quick launch a full screen slideshow. You are now asked to select photos for a slideshow first, and then create that slideshow. In Classic you will get an ability to view these full screen, thats the only way. The stupid music that accompanies classic is ... well, stupid. I just wish the Apple store in Bethesda MD had it installed so I could see how horrible it is, before giving them $79 for a Family Pack! My money now goes to Adobe for LR3, a much, much better suite! Forgot to mention, this version is NOT 64 bit, and it does not recognize dual-screen mode either, something that Adobe implemented years ago. Shame on APple for dummifying a simple photo viewer to the iPhone level.
View 24 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of a way to enter full screen in Mac OS X's native screen sharing application? I recently purchased a new MBP and wanted to screen share to my old MB with all my "junk" on it. It would be handy to actually enter full screen as opposed to being restricted to a window sized screen.
If this isn't possible, anyone have a good recommendation for an alternative application?
Here's a screen shot of my applications folder, Can anyone explain or help me with this?I find this strange that it appears that I have two versions of Logic installed on my computer, Is there anyway I can "merge" or "trash" one without losing any data?

I've tried launching iMovie and using the import command but nothing seems to work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an iMac desktop computer, Intel based, with Snow Leopard running on it. When I am running iPhoto the small photos appear in the right pane as they should. However, when I double click on one of the photos to enlarge it, many of them will show a black screen with a white circle and a black exclamation point in the white circle. When I click it again, it returns to the smaller size and is visible. If I use the slider, the pictures will get bigger but when I double click on them the black screen with the exclamation point appears. Again, when I click the black screen, the smaller picture re-appears. This phenomenon does not happen on all of the pictures, just some. Also, the photos that this occurs on are not copies of the originals. When I highlite the photo to edit it and click on edit the screen also goes black. Does anyone have a clue as to what is causing this and how I might fix it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoesn't it seem a bit weird that after bigging up how good iPhoto was in full screen and how steve thinks that all Mac apps should have a full screen mode.
Was anyone else a bit surprised when they found out there was no full screen for iMovie or garage, two apps that I would honestly think would be amazing in full screen?
In the last 5 days I've started noticing a strange flickering with images loading in Safari both static and in-line video e.g. cnn.com. A few days ago at lunch while home I opened both Safari and Firefox, opened cnn.com and then clicked on a video. With both videos playing at the same time it looked fine in Firefox but flickered in Safari. I've noticed the same issue with static image loads too. In FF the image loads no problem, in Safari it flickers. I don't think this is related to the video card (8800GT) but sounds like a software issue to me.
Anyone else having a similar problem? BTW, I'm running 10.5.2 with all the latest updates. I've subsequently noticed that turning the machine off and on again relieves the problem?
Just set up my new Mac Pro with two 30" LCDs. Are there any apps that would help snapping windows to quarters, thirds, or halves of the screen? -- or perhaps saving a workspace-worth of apps? Or is there some secret OSX functionality towards this?
I've googled and found such apps for Ubuntu and Windows, but nothin for our Leopard!
I know that Leopard has a screensharing utility built in (in the coreservices folder) or by going to Go>Connect to Server>vnc://---------- in the Finder menu, but I would like to know what IP I type into the box (I would like to share with someone not on my local network). I'm not an expert in networking, but I'm pretty good with computers, so you can use technical terms.

Is there an app that will effectively mask the entire screen and allow you to let only a rectangle area show through?

(like a transparent screen lock app) I think you got the idea, can you recommend me a software that does this?

I'm well versed in PCs tech-wise so I figured it was just a matter of a setting or something, but I can't find anything to adjust. I thought to go over to Firefox, which I use on my PC, but it needs OS X to run. I tried installing Safari but it wouldn't install either.
Am I just lost in a strange world, or am I flogging a dead horse, as it were?

I recently started using an external HP w1858 monitor as a secondary display with my MacBook Pro. I'm having troubles with running applications in full screen mode on the secondary display. How can I run applications in full screen mode on the secondary monitor?
Info:
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)
So, I treated myself to a brand spanking new Macbook Pro Yeahhh, I picked up the 15" 2.3Ghz and suped it up with 16gigs of Ram and a 750gig 7200rpm HD and this baby flies, especially taking into consideration my last laptop was an ibook (chuckle).
Okay here is the question: Is there any way I can record applications that I am running on my laptop, I am into some new video projection controll software and would like to create a trouble shooting vid/manual as I resolve sits.
I am running OS X 10.5. Suddenly today, everything on the screen magnified by about 10 or 15%. When I move the mouse, everything on the screen shifts as the mouse moves, so that I can end up seeing everything on the screen as if through a window. If I move the mouse down, the menu bar at the top of the screen disappears. With difficulty, I can still use the computer but obviously this is an unusable configuration. I have no idea what caused this and I don't have any idea how to fix it. After trying a number of things, I did a Clean Install (Archive and Install) of the OS but this did not help. The phenomenon occurs whether I am in an application or in Finder. Help!
