I've switched from Windows to Mac, I used to enjoy having a full screen for the Browser. How can I do this on mac? I don't want to see a top screen when I'm surfing. I just want to be immersed into the web page I'm on and nothing else.
I use "Pages" and would like to keep it in Space 2 in fullscreen modus. However, whenever I change spaces, the fullscreen disappears and my Pages window even automatically is brought back to Space 1. Anyone else able to keep a Pages document in full screen modus in one of his/her Spaces?
Is that full screen mode gesture demonstrated during the keynote not available until the release of Lion? I installed iLife 11 and don't see any sign of it.
I was wondering if when in Full screen mode in pages 09, we can still change tracks in Itunes. Is there a lil Itunes player in the full screen mode, so that we can skip songs and control volumes.
i want to start itunes in full screen cover mode, not all of the time, maybe from a shortcut in windows but not sure if its possible. anyone know how to do this?
So I have a DYNEX 21 inch HD TV conected up to my MBP via the VGA connection route. My problem is that when I want a program (or more specifically in this case a game) to go into fullscreen mode it automatically goes to my primary monitor and turns the other screen black. I know I can switch the primary monitor from my actual laptop screen to the TV however I just want the game to be full screen on the TV while still having access to my dock and everything on my laptop.
When I'm watching a full screen video on my computer the mouse doesn't go off the screen and because the border of it is white you can see it at the side of the screen. After a few seconds it does disappear though but if you watch a full screen flash video such as on BBC iPlayer or YouTube, the mouse remains there with that white line sticking out on the side of the screen. Also, if you put the cursor off the bottom of the screen, the dock pops up so unless you disable the dock temporarily and then put it in the bottom right corner (where it only takes up 1 pixel).
I have two monitors on an iMac 8 running Lion. I went to full screen mode and the iTunes took over both monitors and covered up all menu options. I can't get out of full screen mode now. The ESC key does not work. All I can do is press F4, open another app, and then close iTunes. But I can't change the mode for the next time it opens. Is there some combination of keys I can type to get control back on my own GD desktop?

post your fps in full screen mode with the itunes visualization plugin. post your computer type and itunes version too. i'm just trying to see how bad mine is compared to others.
? 13fps, iMac DV 600, 128 ATI RAGE, OS X.1, 768 mb ram, itunes 2.
I consider this an oddity in Lion. I have two monitors. If I have Mail open in the left one and let's say Address book on the right one, and I put Mail into full screen mode, the other monitor goes gray. So no way to have one monitor in full screen mode and still use the second monitor!

I installed Lion yesterday. I cannot take Mail window out of full screen mode. There is no double arrow in the upper right corner. I hate it being this large. In fact, I don't like this Mail program at all. Moving the cursor up does not do anything. No Menu Bar appears. The only way I can get out of Mail is command Q.Â
I accidently did something that made Safari go full screen and the top navigation with the Apple icon, File, Edit etc, menu disappeared. I pressed esc to go back to normal viewing mode. Â
I am really liking QuickView-ing.. couldn't preview .css but oh well. But my question is, does anyone know if there is a keyboard shortcut to go into full screen mode?
When I go on youtube and use full screen mode, pressing escape doesn't work. For some reason, my (10.6.2) MBP makes me press control escape. this has also been happening with quicktime. What is going on?
A horizontal line appears in any application (iTunes, VLC, Quicktime) when I enter full screen mode. Out of nowhere it appeared about 2 weeks ago. Not sure how to get rid of this or how it came about?
I'm noticing that when I am in full screen mode (not the bi-directional arrow, present in some applications) that I sometimes see the bottom of my desktop background as an artefact in the application.Â
The laptop i'm using is the Mid 2012 Retina model.Â
When I open safari by clicking on a link in my dock (on the little spring with an @ sign on it), my safari automatically opens in full screen mode. Can I turn this off so that it opens in just normal "windowed" mode?
When using certain apps in fullscreen hovering the mouse over the top of the screen produces the menu bar, AND a title bar which is interfering with screen real estate.Â
How do I remove it?Â
The screenshot below is with a youtube video playing in fullscreen, and the menu bar popped down.
The title bar saying "Safari" and with the green button is the one I want removed. This title bar seems to pop down in Java and Flash apps, and it's particularly irritating when the pop-down steals screen real-estate (photoshop, bitwig, Flas-player, etc.). Ideally I would like to stop the menu bar from popping down as well but it doesn't seem possible.Â
Display profile changes-the color correctness- changes whenever I enter fullscreen mode in-game, in dvd player, etc. Absolutely spontaneously. When I exit fullscreen it recovers to regular display profile. My regular display profile is "color LCD", and it changes to .
when i turn on my mac it comes up with a gray apple logo, and then a loading bar comes up underneath, it stays like this for about 3mins and then logs in. once it has logged in i find it has taken my computer back a few days and is getting very annoying because i loose all the work i did before i turned it off.
I just updated to Safari 5.1.5 this morning as well as OS 10.7.3 and when in full-screen mode, the bookmarks bar as well as the toolbar will not drop down. Once I escape then I can see them fine. I'm also having issues with dragging or dropping ANYTHING. A gost image of what I am trying to move shows, and will not go away unless I force quit Mail or Safari. Needless to say, what I ws attempting to drag and drop does not take effect.
So this problem started yesterday where whenever I try to play a video (youtube,or any other site) neither the sound nor image works, but whenever i make the video fullscreen, everything works perfectly. It's a bit annoying if I want to watch a video or listen to music off youtube whilst doing other things.
How to stop pages opening in Full Screen Mode? This occurs on most software and is very annoying when you have a large monitor with one small picture taking up the whole screen.PLUS trying to reduce the size of the screen means the cursor has to find a tiny one pixel area in the corner in order to reduce the screen size. This takes up a lot of time when working on several images.(enlarging the cursor size is not an answer and makes it worse because it's hard to exactly align the cursor with the text or else it edits the wrong line of text).
when using apps in full screen mode the spotlight shortcut cmd+space doesn't work anymore.
E.g. safari in fullscreen mode, I tap cmd+space and nothing happens, if I move the mouse on top of the screen the bar appears and cmd+space is restoredÂ
I just switched from Oultook 2011 to Lion Mail. I have 2 different accounts, Office 365/Exchange 2010 and iCloud. I noticed that when I reply to any message while is full screen mode, the reply icon is not showing up. The reply icon is the curved arrow pointing left for replies.
I seem to have the following problem. not sure exactly how it started as my wife was using the mac at the time (she says she just dragged the safari to different desktop via mission control) but now the situation is as follows:
When I hit safari icon it switches on (I can see the little light dot underneath the icon and after right click I can see names of windows that are opened) however I can only see the Safari menu at the top but no window. If I scroll to the right or left to different desktops it's not there, the same goes if I double tap to see the Mission Control mode it's not there...
I so far figured out that once the Safari menu is visible on top of the screen I can go to View>Enter Full Screen and then Safari will come back into the full screen mode but once I unclick the full screen button in right top corner the whole window just swoops into the right top corner and it's nowhere to be found again.
