on iTunes a LOT of my music doesn't have its album info. is there something i can do that will make all my songs sorted into the right albums? Also any help on a quick way to get Album art would be appreciated.

View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I had to re-format my external hard drive so that it could be "recordable" within Pro Tools, which wasn't a major issue, I just had to move everything from my Lacie drive to another drive, do the format, and then throw it all back on. It took a little while but this also included moving my nearly 60gb itunes library. Now that it is on the newly formatted hard drive, itunes doesn't seem to be able to find the majority of the songs any more. I've tried changing the music folder and a few other things, and there is no way I'm going through and doing the "cant find music - click here to find it" palava. Is anyone aware of a way that you can "mass find" all of the music in any way other than starting the library again and adding all the music (I don't really want to lose all of my play counts and ratings if possible!)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI remember there being a button that said 'download all', which would let you download ALL of your purchased music at the ease of one button. I no longer see this button and instead have to go into each artist name to download the songs for that artist. I have purchased a lot from iTunes, so this can be a long winded task. Is there anyway of being able to download ALL of my music purchases with the click of a button?

Got my iTunes Library reading from an external USB drive. Nothing has changed in months. Though just recently, for 90% of my songs - iTunes can't locate them. I checked the directory where they've always been and they're still there. External drive is alive and kicking, connected to my Macbook. This sucks because I've got a gajillion playlists. And my iPhone and iPad will no longer sync these playlists. I'd really hate to manually have to re-do all of my playlists again.

I reinstalled the latest version and that didn't solve the problem. I am using an Imac and OS 10.6.5. My Itunes version is 10.1.1.
I have some concert DVDs I put on my iPod and I switched the video kind (in info, under the video tab) from movie to music video. Problem is, now I can't find those concerts on iTunes, I can still view them on the iPod, but I can't find access to them through iTunes to edit info/delete them if I want to. Can anyone help me in finding them on iTunes?

I'm going to be using iChat for the first time and want to use the screen sharing feature between two computers running 10.6. iChat's documentation (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.h.../en/17157.html) says:
"While every screen sharing connection uses encryption, the highest level of security requires both participants to have MobileMe subscriptions with encryption enabled. If this is the case, you will see a lock icon in the screen sharing window."
I'm wondering:
1. What is the difference between the encryption that "every screen sharing connection uses" and the enhanced security allowed with MobileMe accounts? How does this compare with, say, doing VNC over an SSH connection?
2. I understand that one can get a free MobileMe account which only has iChat capabilities. Does this free MobileMe account enable iChat encryption, or do I have to pay $99/year to get that?
I'm about ready to switch over to an ssd for my boot & apps but don't want to load it up with music or photo or movie files - those should reside on another drive on my Mac Pro. I do this routinely with Powerpoint / Keynote / Capture1 / etc.
There is just something confusing to me about Apple's default storage of files - the search function yielded quite a few posts on this general topic but I.m still not sure what to do - especially before I open iTunes for the first time via my new ssd.
Is it possible to keep all that stuff off my ssd?

I get an exclamation mark in a grey circle in front of some of the songs in my "Music" library. When I try to play the song I get an error message: "The song could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" I have put all my music on an external HD. In the Advance Preferences I have changed the "iTunes Media folder location" to the external hard drive and there are check marks before "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library". Why does it not find some songs?

Not all of my music is on my new MacBook Air, even though Home Sharing is on. I have some random assortment of songs on my computer and when I checked my purchased songs that are "Not on this Devise" nothing shows up.

I turned on my mac last night, and opened itunes (9) and went to start my music, *pop up*. I said, as I read the pop up saying it cant find the music. So I found it and fixed it, next one, WTF it cant find it either? 50 songs later and i come up with "Ok, its screwed" I have my music on a external HD, and never had this problem before, what gives? I did a clean up and everything, didnt help one bit. I've now made a new library and has dragged my old itunes music folder to the new one, anyone know why it broke?

I just opened iTunes and it is not seeing my music (at least not populating it) despite the location in preferences / advanced being the drobo. I have tried resetting it but nothing helps. I don't want to move the music onto the iMac I want to keep it on the drobo.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am syncing all of my music library to my iPhone via iTunes on a MacBook Pro. There are only a very few albums not showing up. These have NOT been bought off iTunes - they are older than iTunes I put them on the computer from CDs.But for the same artist - about half of the music shows up - it seems to be whole CDs that don't. I tried highlighting the songs and making sure they actually had an artist - they do. They have albums listed, too. I have no idea what is going on. This is also on my husbands phone - but for a different artist (different computer, too and he has an iPhone 4s, I have an i4)

My 2.5 year old (wired) mighty mouse gave up the ghost recently, and I just replaced it with a new one today.
The thing is... it doesn't seem to scroll "down" as easily as it scrolls "up" and "left to right". (as it is right now, I have to apply a lot more pressure to scroll down than I do to scroll up or laterally)
Is there an adjustment I can make to get this thing to scroll "down" as easily and freely as it does "up"?Has anyone else had this sort of issue, or is it just me? Ok, Thanks.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a large collection of ripped (TV-on-DVD that i own) mp4s. I want to add these to my iTunes library (space is a non-issue). I import them by adding them to the "automatically add to iTunes" folder. iTunes auto-magically adds them to the "Movies" section. At this point i can group-select, hit cmd-I, and change them to TV Shows. Easy! The only other piece of meta-data I would like to add is the episode number. Is there a quick way to do this? Or do i have to hit cmd-I, add episode #, hit OK button, select next episode, repeat....?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just had occasion to restore the disc containing my XP operating system (yes, I am a PC person too). iTunes Library is stored on a big FireWire box, and was not restored.
The date of my last XP backup was 19/1/09, and iTunes Library knew of nothing I had done since that date, in other words, the song tracks are kept in the iTunes directory, but the library clearly isn't. This is really strange. All the tracks I had added were there in the iTunes library physical directories, but their importing into the library had disappeared. As had some Smart Playlists.
So where is the library actually stored? I note that there are some odds and ends of unrecognizable stuff along with the executable in the XP Programs... directory, presumably this stuff includes the library?
Just to clarify. The executable is on my C drive in the default location, and the iTunes library is on H:iTunes.
I was exchanging music with a friend who has the Zune software on his computer.And there was one thing that I would really like that his software had, and that was the Find Album Info.
This was able to simply find album artwork, track names and other details for the music.So my question is, is there any additional software for iTunes that does something like this?
I found a lot of sites telling me what to do but not HOW to do it. I need to change the artwork and info tags on my podcast page in itunes. How do I do these things if I created my podcast in iweb?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know *how* to do this, by going to "get info", and I have done it before. But, for some reason I *can't* actually do it anymore. When I select a group of songs to change info on, it acts like its going to work but then does nothing. When I select a single item, the get info tab is completely grayed out, nothing can be clicked on or changed. I have tried checking the song outside of iTunes to make sure it isn't read only or anything and I haven't found any issues with that. None of these should have any copy protection, they've all been ripped from cd or downloaded.
The only way I have been able to change anything so far is to convert the mp3 to AAC. I really don't want to have to convert the whole library. What is wrong with this?? How do I fix it?
I aim finding music files in various locations on my mac. Is there any software out there I can download that will find and organize these for me? I am finding far too many duplicates.
