on iTunes a LOT of my music doesn't have its album info. is there something i can do that will make all my songs sorted into the right albums? Also any help on a quick way to get Album art would be appreciated.

This was able to simply find album artwork, track names and other details for the music.So my question is, is there any additional software for iTunes that does something like this?
I have been using the album art player thing in the new ITunes and now the album art unknown is really starting to get to me. I have a lot of old music I have been collecting over the years and a lot of the data was either not there or for whatever reason is not there. I am looking for a program to do either an audio scan or something to find all my album art work and information that itunes displays. I have used the ITunes find album artwork but some songs done have the album listed. What do I do from here. I am not going through 4k songs to get them all manually.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've just imported some songs to iTunes and they have all the same ID3 tag for "Album". iTunes can see this Album name but it doesn't group them in the Album view. I see seven times the same album ....
If I edit the the album name via iTunes and set the same album name again, it will group them.
I'm looking for a (semi)-automatic way to retrieve genre and style information from Allmusic or Discogs and store it in iTunes Genre and Comments fields. Does anyone here knows a good way of doing this?

I just bought a new mac book air and i have a lot of music that Itunes cannot find the album art for. On my windows PC i was able to just copy and paste the art into the "get info" tab and the art will show in itunes when the song plays. When i find the art on my Mac i can copy and paste, however the art does not save to itunes. Â
Also, whenever i changed the artist or album artist information, the change does not save either.

my music files are in a folder on an external hard drive. currently, itunes has lost track of the files and won't play the songs. it shows an exclamation point next to all the songs.
i have tried to re-select the proper folder in itunes advanced preferences, but to no avail.
I'm new here and about to dip my toe into the Apple pond for the first time. Just placed an order for an i Phone and am preparing my music collection to move at least some of it over to i Tunes for use with the new phone. I currently have it on an external HD in one main folder (CD Collection) and have been using WMP up to now. Stored under that main folder are sub-folders with album titles containing the individual song files in .wav format. I tried to import the files into the i Tunes library by going to FILE and clicking on ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY. I then selected all the album folders and hit enter. It imported them all into one folder. I have around 450 albums. This is not what I had in mind. I had hoped the folder and file organization would have been maintained. Instead I have thousands of music files in one "album."

All I do is rip the music off of my purchased CD from any retail store, but the problem I'm having is when it finishes, all the songs are single and only 1 of the songs will get the album information. I have somehow managed to end up with iTunes splitting music between folders ( was not me honest ! ).Â

I recently updated iTunes to v10.6 from 10.0. Since then, any album art that I have manually added in the past no longer shows up on my iPhone or iPod Classic. However, album art that was retrieved via iTunes (purchases, etc) does appear. I first noticed this on my iPhone, which was running iOS 5.0.1 at the time. I updated to iOS 5.1 afterwards, thinking that it might solve the problem but nothing changed. Â
Some things I should mention; my entire library is ALAC (lossless), and I do not use the sync feature with music. I manually drag albums over that I want and use the "convert to AAC feature", and have always done so. The main reason I upgraded to iTunes 10.6 was to take advantage of converting to AAC 256kbps instead of the previously fixed bit rate of 128kbps. Anyway, I dragged over a lossless album without the option of converting to AAC, but it still didn't transfer the artwork. Â
In case anyone is wondering, the method I used to download my art was by finding the cover using Google Images, hilighting every track in the album, and pasting it in. Again, I never had this problem until upgrading iTunes to v10.6. Â
I add an album to iTunes, all the songs are on recently added playlist but they don't appear on MUSIC, by artist or anything...It is really wierd and anoying, they do appear on my iPod Classic by artist or anything is just on iTunes they seem nowhere to be found!

I just found out that there seems to be a bug in iTunes 10.6. After I selected the option of œconvert higher bit rate songs to, album covers mysteriously disappeared. It took me a while to figure this out but I just deselected this option, replaced the albums and presto! Album covers are back again!

When I transfer music from finder to itunes I click and drag the folder (artist) from finder onto the itunes window, but the album and artist don't show up in itunes. If I search itunes for individual songs I find them in "unknown album". Why doesn't the album and artist transfer and go into itunes?

I had purchaser the single of the Payphone from iTunes and when the album was released I did a "Complete my Album" purchase of the same Album. iTunes won't play the single when palying the album. It is not shown as being in the album at all, even the track number is omited. How can I get that single to play in order when selecting the Album without creating a special playlist just for this album. I thought when you did a "Complete my album" it would do just that not omit it from the album and keep the single as a separate track.

When I've searched the community I find posts that show how to change burning preferences, but these posts were from a couple of years ago.It appears that Lion doesn't give us the options for burning that Snow Leopard did.Are there settings that I can change to fix this problem, or is this another example of Apple becoming less user friendly.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI keep my large music collection on an external drive connected to an Airport Extreme in my home. I've embedded all my album artwork in the music files, and previously all the album artwork was displaying perfectly in iTunes. After upgrading to iTunes 10.5, however, most of my albums are missing the album art in the album list and Cover Flow. I know that the art is still in the file because it shows up in the "Now Playing" box in the lower left corner of the screen. The only way I have found to get the album art to show up again in the album list and Cover Flow is to go through the following steps: Â Control-click the first track of an album for which the cover art is not displaying correctly. From the context menu that appears, select Get Info.Click on the Artwork tab, then click Cancel.Â
Now the artwork shows up in iTunes in all views. I called Apple Support and asked if there's a faster way to fix the issue with the database. Manually fixing each album for hundreds of albums is no fun. Telling iTunes to Get Album Artwork doesn't work because most of my music was not purchased from iTunes but was ripped from CDs I already own. It's very frustrating because I already spent hours finding and embedding the hi-res album art in my files. I paid extra for Apple products because I expect them to at least avoid corrupting my databases.
My new ipad2 doesn't show any of the music I had previously burned from all my CDs. Even thorough I had synced numerous times, those tracks are not in my library. Only the purchased music.
