Applications :: Installing Exchange - Capable Entourage 08 Over Home And Student?
Oct 29, 2009
I have Office 2008 Home and Student installed on my MBP. I recently upgraded to a hosted Exchange solution and they offer a download of Entourage 2008 that will allow Exchange Server interaction.
When I loaded that version over top of my install, Entourage will not open. It gives me an error about the identity not being able to open the item.
As you know, there are several Office versions. The Professional and Special Media boast Exchange server support, whereas Home and Student does not have it. I wonder, what is it all about? Are there any special files that one can copy and enable this support? I could not find anything specific to this issue on my computer. Moreover, no direct reply from Google searches.
I have the Student ed of Mac Office 2008. The only thing I can't do with Entourage is Exchange right? Every time I try to send an attachments. It lets me pick the file(s), no problem here. Then I tell it to send it. Once the mail has been sent, the attachments don't open on the original or the sent copy. If I try to open it though Entourage I get "Entourage Error Unknown". If I save the file and try to open it that way. It will launch the right app to open the file correctly. But the App will tell me this file is corrupted or incomplete. Now it's not allowing my to save the attachments. I get some "Entourage Error Unknown". I get this on both sides with the original post and with the sent file.
im in search of a mac. Not going to go over specs but anyway. As a pc user looking for an upgrade and to try something different, i have now come to the crossroad on what to buy for word processing and the works. Now i have been using office 2007 for the past year and a half and have rehabilitated to the new format. Since the pc version of office 2007 will not run on a mac and i will be forced to pay $150 for the one for the mac. Which is better. I works it only $100 in Canada (going to make that clear i live in Canada) Will i miss Office 2007 or will i work be something that i will enjoy to work with.
Do you know if MS Office for Mac 2008 has language options? Or does it come in English only?
I'm referring to the interface language as opposed to spell/grammar check settings on MS Word for example. I want to install MS Office in the German language, but I am here in the US. Any advice on how I can get the German version here?
I am looking for some guidance. Work were terribly nice to me last week and bought me a macbook pro 13". I have owned apple products for years and finally bent their ears. I am now becoming stuck though. In entourage I have set up my account through the LAN at my workplace, but when looking to update my emails at home over my wifi network, it wont connect. Also I would like to access my documents and root folders from my profile on the XP work network, without running Parrealells or bootcamp (as I dont want to install XP on this machine). Basically I would like my mac to do everything my profile does at work, but on the OSX platform...
over my Entourage outgoing mail can no longer update Exchange server 2003.
Entourage 12.2.0 was working fine on my OSX 10.6.2. I believe after upgraded Entourage to version 12.2.3, all my outgoing mail were not updated to exchanges server.
All mail reaches it intended recipients and a copy keep in local folder. other function like calender and contact are able to sync with exchange without problem.
I have a user running Entourage Web Services Edition with an Exchange 2007 email account. Two days ago, email messages stopped automatically arriving in the user's inbox. The only way to get new messages was to manually click the send/receive button or quit and re-open Entourage.
We have re-set the user's caches and rebuilt the database but the issue keep re-occurring.
I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and Office for Mac 2008 (Student Edition). I am trying to setup my university email (web based) on Entourage and it says I cannot have an exchange email (or something along these lines). I was told to download "EWS-1304-EN.dmg", but when I get to "Select a Destination", the following message is displayed: "Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition can't be installed on this disk. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume."
so ive been searching around the web and i cant find a trial for this, i've looked everywhere! i heard this is buggy so i want to try out beforebuying, help me out homeboys
I would like to know if anyone uses iwork and MS office Student & Home. If so what do you think is best? I am thinking about getting the Student & Home edition. I have iWork
I'm finding myself having to print notes and articles more than I used to and I decided it's time to look into a color laser printer. I'm looking for something with modestly priced toner, a relatively small footprint, doesn't require a lot of power, prints double-sided, and that plays nice with mac. Looks like samsung, hp, and brother offer some nice choices, just not sure where to start.
I'm trying to connect my Macbook pro to our Exchange Server 2003 via Entourage. Entourage is asking me for the "LDAP" information, and cannot complete setup without it. But our server doesn't use LDAP configuration.
I accidentally deleted my entire exchange calendar. I use entourage to manage my exchange account. I have a back-up of the main identity file from just before the delete. Great, right? Sure, except that when I swap out the current (without calendar data) main identity with the back-up main identity (with calendar data), the data populates the calendar, but then gets wiped when entourage syncs with the exchange server. Specifically, the data disappears when syncing is at the "Updating sync issues" stage (as noted in the lower right hand corner of entourage during sync).
Neither I or my IT girl can sort out how to force entourage to use the local calendar data instead of the blank server calendar data.
I have decided to use Entourage over Mail due to it's robustness and more features than I can possibly ever use. Here the question:I am coming from a PC using Outlook 2007. I have done my research on how to get my mail off my Outlook and importing it into Entourage.Fine, great and dandy. I haven't performed it yet but I have a couple of questions before running with this.1. I have MobileMe account. Installing that into Entourage was relatively easy. Done.2. Installing a new "mail" account (POP or IMAP), I'm going to assume is the same way BUT if I install this, will it mix with my MobileME? What I am expecting to see is that it would store separately in it's own section. What is right?
I've seen lots of threads go by about importing e-mail from one program to another, and my case is seemingly simpler, but I have had no luck so far.
I want to import into Entourage the e-mail from a backup of the disk. I know how to import mail into Entourage from other e-mail programs and I know how to import mail into Entourage from an archive created by exporting from Entourage, but I cannot figure out how to import from a backup of the folders under the "/Users/(username)/Documents/Microsoft User Data" folder, under which is where Entourage stores mail.
I am running Vmware Fusion with XP Professional. I finished downloading the Solidworks Student Design Kit (which took 5 hours ) and was installing it. During installation it stated there was an error and restarted. Now there is an icon that says "Solidworks Design Kit" but when I click it, nothing happens.
I am trying to find some good software for a college student. I have searched Google, but it seems most of the stuff on there is outdated. Anyone have any good suggestions?
Is there a free app that is capable of editing MPEG 4? I used handbrake to rip some dvds so I dont have to carry them around, but one is all out of order. iMovie apparently doesnt support .mp4. so is there an app that I can use to put this movie back in order?
I've tried using the native email application in Mac as well as MS Office 2008 for Mac Entourage. I'm quite displeased with both of them since neither were able to sync correctly with my work Outlook. I'm wondering if there is another alternative to these two programs to access my work email through Outlook? The issue I had with the other two programs is that it wouldn't pick up all my folders/emails so it was basically like half of my Outlook file was there and the other half was completely gone. I needed an email program that will work almost as well, if not as good, as Outlook on my Mac and I'm not sure of what other programs are out there that can accomplish this. Any ideas?
what are some good apps for those of us who are going into college and need things to organize homework and what not as well as writing research papers?
Looking to use an SSD in a new MP, as a boot disc. Is there any way to designate where the home folder is during installation (and thus avoid a write/delete on the SSD volume)? I know the home directory can be moved after install, but my question is about keeping it off the SSD alltogether.

I'm planning to install windows 7 64-bit in my mbp, problem is I looked at the requirements needed and it stated that I needed boot camp update 3.1. I checked my boot camp version and it stated that I had 3.0.1, tried using software update, but states that I had no updates available. What should I do? And what else do I have to keep in mind while installing windows using boot camp.
My Macbook pro (which is 18 months old) will not connect to my home hub since installing a smart TV. It worked perfectly for over a year. All other Apple devices in the house are fine. The router is about 2 metres away. When I go further away into another room it is fine. Is there anything I can do to remedy this?
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, 18 motnhs old
Is it possible to install the Windows Vista home premium Lite OS on a MacBook? Think it would be nice to save some precious HD space for other purposes.
