The images in mail have stopped downloading in the document preview and are now shown with a thumbnail. I have looked everywhere to change that setting but am unable to.
View 3 RepliesI have noticed recently that when reviewing my emails, I seem to be getting more advertisements etc, that do not load images etc. There is just an empty box with a small blue question mark within a cube where the picture is supposed to be....even when I hit load images....they don't.

I know there's a way to do this. I want to be more proficient in Preview without having to fire up CS3. I'm going nuts trying to find a decent tutorial online. I found this one but by reading the comments, there seems to be another way.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a medical student and as such I have to read a lot of PDFs in Preview. I usually read the text and highlight as I go to mark the important stuff. I was wondering if there's a way to create a new document composed of only the stuff I highlighted. That way I would have a great study guide and I wouldn't have to re-type all the content. So to summarize:
Copy highlighted sections ONLY and paste selections into a new document
How do I get Preview to display hyperlinks in a PDF document? I need to download a manual. When I click on the link in Safari, it only downloads the Table of Contents (1 p., 29KB). There are hyperlinks for each of the other 16 sections, but when I click on them, nothing happens, nothing further downloads, etc. How do I access the other sections?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Application Shortcuts (Mail.app) I have set up ⌘+Enter to send mail. It works great...until I use certain Mail commands. For example, if I use Shift+⌘+H to view the full headers of a message, the next time I try to use ⌘+Enter to send a mail it doesn't work. I have to quit Mail and then when I restart ⌘+Enter works again. Same thing happens if I use Shift+⌘+B to bounce a message. I can duplicate this every time so it's not an intermittent bug. It's a minor annoyance, but I wonder if anyone else can confirm it happens to rule out that it's something specific to my Mac. I'm on OS X 10.6.4.

I've been through the Preferences panel and poked through the Help files, but haven't found anything on this. I finally resorted to going online and sending the photos using my email provider...which was annoying, but it worked. Next time round...can anyone tell me how to fix this? I can't recall what it says in my sig...but I'm running Leopard.
View 8 Replies View Relatedwhat's gone wrong with one of my POP accounts in Mail? I was curious that I had not received any messages on one account for a couple of weeks, but it's mainly mailing lists that go to that account and traffic is sometimes light so I didn't notice sooner. Once I realised I'd been missing postings, I eventually discovered a couple of hundred messages on the server that hadn't been downloaded by Mail, but I can't work out how to get them downloaded! If I select Get Info on the account in Mail, it tells me there are 198 messages on the server, and they are all marked as new, ie not downloaded yet. But checking for new messages results in no messages being detected.
I've tried disabling and re-enabling the account and changing the passwords to try to get Mail to recognise a change and check the account properly, but no luck so far.
Once in a while when I launch Mail, it tries to download thousands of mails. Not spam ones, but legitimate mails going right back to when I joined .mac in 2005. Why is this?

I've noticed that Mail.app randomly decides to download all the IMAP messages all over again at random intervals (could be a few days, could be a few weeks). I've noticed this behavior on both of my computers, additionally I know other people with this same issue. Does anyone here have this issue as well? If so, what is the problem?

Setup Mail.app as usual with a couple different email accounts.
Now, every time I open Mail it appears to download all my mail again (see pic). It takes a long time and mail isn't really that responsive.
Nothing on my server has changed.
Recently the preview program has stopped working. I cannot open PDF files or image files, i.e. jpeg. The only thing I can think of that I've done recently is installing a program called "MailRaider." I just uninstalled it using a program called "Appdelete."
I tried this suggestion from the apple discussion forum that did not work:
Go to the finder, find one of the PDFs you can not open. then click on that PDF one time. go to the file menu, chose get info from the file menu. the inspector window that pops up will include a section on open with. expand that section and click on the open with menu and chose preview. then click the "Change All.." button.
all PDF should now open with preview. you can repeat this process with jpegs, gifs, tifs, pngs, extra as needed.
What else can I try? Do I need to reinstall the preview application? If so, how do I do that?
I am a graphic designer and i use apple mail as my main email application. When im sending photos to my project manager or clients, they are coming back to me stating that they can't save the images as separate files and that they are embedded in the email. I have 'send windows friendly files' checked as well... not only it does this to my jpg's, gifs, and pngs, it is doing this to my PSDS as well... Anybody have a solution or idea of how i can fix this problem? Should i just switch to another email application?

My load images bottom has disappeared. I have mail set up with a preview pane below the inbox list.
I have Mail checking my [URL] address. I want to use Mail to also check my Gmail account. No problem in setting that up... done already. Here's the issue: I have more than 1.1GB of mail in my Gmail account, including file backups on Gspace. I don't want Mail to download all those messages... only the past week or so, then move forward with Mail downloading new Gmail messages only. Is there a way to tell Mail NOT to download my entire Gmail history?

View 2 Replies View RelatedPreview will still open .pdf, but not .jpg. It happened suddenly, no rhyme or reason. I've checked the info on the .jpgs, there's no restriction on the permissions that should keep them from opening, and Preview is selected as the app to open them. I've tried trashing the .plist, repairing permissions, and restarting. No dice. I'm running 10.5.6, and haven't installed anything recently.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince I upgraded to Snow Leopard, I've been noticing that Preview does not display images. A box will open and the background will be there, but no picture. I can scan images, and the automatic preview image that pops up is blank. I can download images from the internet, and they will appear as icons on my desktop, but when I double click them I get an appropriately sized blank Preview box. I can save the image to a thumb drive and put it on my girlfriend's computer (we run identical iMacs, for reference), and it will appear on her computer, but she is using the Adobe suite.
