I have Powerpoint on the PC, and there you are able to rehearse and save timings, i.e; say you have a project and have music in the background, you can go to the next slide depending on when you click 'Next' or whatever? Get what I mean? So you're able to rehearse timings so you don't have to control it, it's kind of like a movie. Let me know how to do this with Keynote 09'.

I can't right click on anything within a slide, although I still can right click in the navigator side bar on the slide thumbnails on the left hand side.
I have an action sequence in my keynote presentation but I can only change slides after the action is completed. Is there anyway to force change the slide to the next one? (Even if the build is halfway through)

Keynote does it, except it makes them all super small. Powerpoint handles this with no problem. So im totally stomped on this. It seems like the old Keynote did this no problem.

But until I'm even close to where I am with PC/PowerPoint, I need help with what must be an incredibly simple task - taking a slide from one Keynote deck and adding it to a different Keynote deck with a different format... and having it match the new format. You'd think (or at least I'd think) it'd be like Pages, e.g. "Paste and Match Style"... no dice. In PowerPoint, this is automatic - drop a slide behind a slide and it matches that slide.
Instead of going to each slide and adding the transition and the same time or delay as all the others, is there a way to add the same transition and delay to all the slide at once

Problem is that when I go into time machine, I see that it has multiple times of the day it backed up (when I only expected to see e.g. 8:am)

The reason being, my girlfriend has her driving theory test about 3 days after I leave the country for a few weeks, and I will most probably be without internet access for the first few days I'm away.
At the moment, I'm sending her little mini tests every day, to help her revise, that I write myself (well, I copy them out of the book )
So I'd like to be able to send like 2 or 3 emails with mini-tests in... I'd like to specify the time and date they are delivered.
Is there a way for Mail to ask for password every time it launches? I am logged in as the Admin. It is just people some times borrow my mac and I dont want them seeing my email.

Many students print them out and take notes on them, a system which I dislike because that wastes paper, and I like to keep my notes organized on my computer. I currently take notes using Microsoft Word's notebooks which is okay, but I end up rewriting things that are on the slides. Sorry for the long winded intro, but my question is are there any programs available that would allow for the addition of texts to the PDFs. I know how to do it with Adobe Software, but I was hoping that someone could clue me into a simpler solution for in-class note taking. Adobe's programs are all have more features than I need on a daily basis, I would like a program simpler and more streamlined.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two objects in keynote that do about 14 moves each (spin and move) but I can not get them to go at the same time. The next one will only start when the first one ends. I can't move the second object to the top of the build order because when I do that it ruins all the spin/move steps. Want I kinda need is the ability to run step 13 with step one (whilst leaving the build order in the same rank)..unless somebody has got another way to do this?

In the last few weeks my Macbook has started be begin freezing at seemingly random intervals. It is a 2008 Macbook, not a Macbook Pro or Macbook Air. At first this was only once a day, or once every other day, but it has gotten progressively worse. By today, I can't go more than 2 or 3 hours without it freezing, forcing me to manually restart the computer. The freezing is not application specific; once it freezes with one application, if I try to pull up anything on the menu bar, the menu bar proceeds to freeze. I haven't made any recent major changes to the computer, and it had been working perfectly fine before now. I'm working on scanning it in case it is a virus, but this is seeming increasingly unlikely.

This annoying bug is driving me crazy when I'm listening to music or watching a youtube video.It seems as if some process is interfering with sound output. I've already tried eliminating the problem by closing all apps, uninstalling perian, quicksilver, to no avail. Is there anyway to see which processes are using sound output at any given time?

I am a complete newbie to Keynote. Are there any books or websites that have good indepth literature to teach me how to get the most out of Keynote? say I have a Keynote presentation with four slides. In the first slide I have hyperlinks to pages 2, 3 and 4. Can I have a different transition effect for each slide so that when I click on hyperlink for slide 2 I have the cube transition, when I click on hyperlink for page 3 I have the flip transition... etc?
What is the best way for someone to save a Windows PPT file (XP version of PPT) that it will play the "most nicely" with Keynote? Does anyone know of any options on the Windows side that will help?
The main issues that I seem to be seeing are that the slides are opened in Keynote at 720x540 instead of 1024x768 and that there are a few font issues. I'm just wondering if there is anyway to "idiot" proof this and cut out any additional steps after opening the project on a Mac.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am setting up a new iMac for my parents and since I'm a noob to macs myself (had one for only a few months now) I was wondering what's the best way to set up user accounts. I need to create two accounts so ma/pa can log in and access their own settings, look and feel etc. They are moving from windows XP where they had their own user profiles (dad would leave his desktop littered with icons while mom kept hers nice and clean) so I need to keep two profiles otherwise this would confuse them. I guess my most important questions are:
1. Should I create a separate admin account first when setting up the iMac then create the addition two accounts, or just create two with one of them being an admin. I intend to put something like LogMeIn on there so I can remote in to do any maintenance for them, install apps etc.
2. Dad uses AOL mail and Mom uses Yahoo. I would like to setup Mail so that they can access their emails without using the web mail apps. Question: When the mail accounts are setup are they only seen when logged in under each user profile? In other words, will Dad only see his email in Mail then when Mom logs in she'll see her email etc. or will they both see each other's mail?
I have an avi movie which I have done on Windows 7, pinnacle. However, it has saved it at 416MB, which is fairy large! I want to transfer it to the Mac and play it through keynote.
Does anyone know how I can convert the file (as I am aware Mac will not play avi) but to also reduce the file size WITHOUT losing the quality? I know handbrake can convert, but if I do this will the quality be reduced?
