Whenever I browse a folder with movie files, I get this window popping up, and it doesn't go away for a little while. I'm thinking of just removing Flip4Mac and finding an alternative.
View 6 RepliesRecently, Safari has been acting extremely slow and loading webpages weird.For example, when I went to MacRumors, I get this half-ass loaded version (see picture).
I have to reload it several times to get it to function correctly. I tried resetting Safari and emptying the cache but those did nothing.
I just tried cleaning my keyboard/macbook with some baby wipe type cleaners. Great job of cleaning off the macbook but now when I went to boot the machine...the keyboard was all screwy... for some reason it thinks that when I'm just simply pushing down one key, it assumes the command button is being held down... sometimes it thinks that multiple keys are being held and I'm trying to string together an apple command.
my question is this....
1) are there any methods that I can try to fix the keyboard with?
2) I don't have applecare any longer on my macbook, does this mean that Apple will not be able to help me with repair options? does apple by chance take old computers that are broken and give you some sort of credit towards a new one?
3) can I sell this macbook on eBay and possibly get a decent ammount of money for it even with the keyboard issues?
4) AM I JUST SCREWED!?
I plugged it into my Mac, made it OS X Extended, and it worked great. It has 500GB on it. All of a sudden it became Read Only, which prevents Time Machine to perform any back-ups. The Mac forum suggested I format it, but that's only for NEW drives first connecting. I've had this for almost a year working fine. It's no longer showing up as an icon on my desktop or in Finder. Disk Utility shows it, but all the options to repair disk are greyed out.

Well, I've noticed that this hasn't been happening lately and some of my other sounds have disappeared too, such as in ichat, the sent message and received message sounds aren't occurring even though the settings are set for them to happen. Anyone else experienced this before? I just want to know how I can get my volume keys to work again so that I can hear them as I raise and lower the volume even if there's no sound coming
View 4 Replies View Relatedis there any way of playing a DRM WMV file on a mac? I have Flip4Mac installed so can play WMV through QuickTime player. I also have virtual PC, which i can play the DRM WMV file with, but it plays really slowly in that and is virtually unwatchable.

I need to use WMP9 on a couple of websites that do not work with Flip4Mac/QuickTime. Previously I had just opened the �WMV Upgrade� that is in the Flip4Mac folder and unchecked �Use Flip4Mac WMV Browser plug-in� and then relaunched Safari. But now even when I uncheck Flip4Mac, it, and QuickTime continue to open.

-quick time is not working;
-office is not working;
-there is no sounds;
-iTunes doesn't play music, downloads podcast but doesn't play music.
I cannot get a solid answer on this one. Since the update it seems that safari fails to save my login info. For example I have to re-enter my username and pass for macrumors atleast once everyday.
Also it seems that Safari occasionally hogs more memory and resources after extended use.
I was wondering for any of you in the US if the iTunes store has been acting very slow (for about the past day)? It takes forever to load pages and it takes 3 hours to download an HD show when it should be taking 10 minutes tops. I know my internet connection is fine because everything else is working at its normal pace, but for some reason, navigating the iTunes store and downloading has been quite sluggish.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy friend is having a weird issue with his Microsoft Word. When he opens the program, instead of having a blank document there is box with text in it (see attached picture). Any time you click to open a blank document, this is what you get. He has never used this text before and has had this issue since he installed Office 2004.
Does anybody know how to get rid of this or set the default to a blank document?
Alright well to make a long story short, this afternoon I formatted my Windows Vista PC and reinstalled Vista Ultimate 32 bit. I'll jump right in.Every time I click on something in iTunes, whether it be a song, or a category in the library, iTunes plays this weird "blip" sound. I have isolated it to being just within iTunes. I am not sure what the heck this is and I never had a problem with iTunes 8 before I did my reinstall today.
I was able to capture a bit of the sound using Sound Recorder in Vista. You may need to turn your speakers up a bit to hear it.I have tried completely reinstalling iTunes, but that hasn't fixed the problem. If this is a new feature added into iTunes, then tell me how to turn it off. It is beginning to really piss me off!

my Safari is displaying fonts in a weird way - [I have to adjust the font size constantly in order to read webpagesIf i enter passwords, no fonts are visible, but i am actually able to enter the password - the cursor stays on the left of the field. What I have tried is changing fonts etc. - nothing helped. The attached picture should show lines of text, but the letters are all written over each other - this is what it looks like
View 2 Replies View RelatedI renamed iCal cuz I was bored. Then I changed it back to iCal. Then I dragged it onto the dock. While the application wasn't running, for some reason, it looked like this. It obviously does that because the date changes, but the calendar pic doesn't. When the application is running, it looks like normal. And when I quit it, it goes back to the weird looking icon.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I open up iPhoto, I get this message that says: "A photo has been found in the iPhoto library that was not imported. Would you like to import it? No button and Yes button appear at the bottom of the message box. Sometimes it does it twice. If I say yes, then when iPhoto finishes opening up, there is an album (or two) at the bottom of my album list called "Recovered Photos" but they are empty. I have to manually go through this and then delete them everytime I open up iPhoto. I know in the grand scheme of things this doesn't harm my use of iPhoto or my existing photos, it just accumulates into being a bug and a diversion that I have to get used to dealing with. I thought I left adjusting to those buggy pains in the a$$ behind when I left Windows.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI just switched from PC to Mac. I have thousands of WMA files on my hard drive, and I realized I cannot simply drag and drop them into iTunes. So I got online and downloaded Flip4Mac. At first this only allowed me to play the WMA files through Quicktime. So I read a bit more and it said I needed Flip4Mac Pro to use Quicktime components to convert WMA and other windows files to MP3 and other Mac compatible formats. So I bought Flip4Mac Pro. My iMac came preloaded with Quicktime X and when I open a WMA file in Quicktime and click export, the only option it gives me is "Audio Only" and it does not successfully export. Does anyone know how to use Flip4Mac Pro to convert WMA files to MP3? Â

It just remains stuck. someone tell me what the problem is. I need it to view wmv files. My macbook is one week old, so far I have only downloaded printer software and Skype both of which went fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe automatic Flip4Mac updater will install Microsoft's SIlverLight browser plugin automatically unless the user does a custom install. It was even going to install it on my 10.6.1 machine although the MS web site claims that SilverLight is tested through 10.5. I have contacted the Flip4Mac support people since I believe this is Malware behavior.
Most Mac users will be unaware of what SilverLight is and how it will effect their machine. Nor will most experts think to check for/remove it when troubleshooting. If you wish to make your concerns known, contact their desktop support group, and include "Support Case 1-74223" in the subject line.
after installing VLC in my mac book , my .wmv files are no longer playable with windows media player, i was able to play them just fine before that ( more than 6 months)

I uninstall WMP, reinstall it and no luck. WMP crash right after i open the file , i made sure that when i put it in the bin WMP got deleted cause i was getting errors that a bunch of files were locked
I have a late 2007 intel imac with 10.6.8. I notcied for the last two days that I have gotten this message after checking Software Update [code] I have had problems with occasional freezing/crashes where I have to do a hard shutdown, especially after watching videos via safari (e.g. Youtube) and/or the imac coming out of sleep. This hasn't been too problematic laterly compared to the past (maybe once or twice a week now v. once or twice a day). I do not know if this freeze/crash issue has anything to do with this console message.

I installed the application flip4mac to try it out but came to the conclusion that I do not want it. I want to move the folder/app from the finder/applications window to the trash but keep getting this report:
"The operation cant be completed because you dont have permission to access some of the items"
