I am trying to edit a project for class in Final cut pro and like and idiot thought I was going to use my itunes library (relax, I know if I showed it in public, I would be screwed for using copy written music), but I wanted to know if iTunes is ever going to get rid of that format, considering it seems like other services have done away with it as a marketing edge.

What I'm worried about are the sixty free apps I'm using on iPad. Will I be able to update free apps using the new account or I have to redownload all of them?
...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.
I just switched from PC to Macbook pro. How can i transfer music in itunes in my PC to itunes in my new mac. Is there any free sofware i could use to transfer all the music? I tried to stream my music (use my old laptops as a wifi speaker station) for some time now, and I recently found Airfoil [URL] and it works GREAT!!! it even includes a video player which automaticly syncs the sound to the video(VERY usefull)
you only need The application, and another pc/mac, its really easy to set up, and you can not only stream iTunes music, but also any other sound on your mac!! I use it everyday, and I just wanted to share that, because i did not find any other solution!

Okay so i downloaded the the iTunes 10, and installed it!
But the when i would like to see my Music Libary all my music was GONE!
Whenever I open up iTunes on Vista x86 it appears empty with all my playlist, videos etc. gone. The folder that iTunes gets my music from hasn't changed. When I open iTunes the iTunes Library Extras and iTunes Library Genius are always sent to the recycle bin and there is nothing I can do to stop that from happening. When I check my music folder new versions of those files are there. I am really scared that I won't be able to get my music back as I have a lot.

However, I just noticed that they now claim that all music is now iTunes Plus.. but I still have 127 purchased tracks in my library that are not iTunes plus. I try and close down and open iTunes back up but nothing, I restart my xp computer and still nothing. So I look under file explorer and it seems like all my music is still located under the "iTunes music" folder. So I uninstalled all the apple products on my computer and reinstalled iTunes 9 et. Al. And still no results. Does anyone know how to get my library to show up in iTunes?
