Alright, so on iTunes I had a playlist with songs on them. I deleted it, then synced my iPad to it. Now that playlist isn't on iTunes or the iPad. How do I get the playlist back?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased a few Cds from iTunes around 6 months back. I then deleted a lot of music and somehow deleted these Cds from my Library. When I go to Check For Downloads under Store in the iTunes Menu it checks and then assumes all is there. How can I get the music back that I have purchased and download it back into iTunes on my MacBook. I am running iTunes 8.1
View 4 Replies View RelatedI must have accidentally deleted a whole genre of music from my iTunes, but I do not see the songs in my trash. My music was not purchased from itunes, just uploaded from CDs, that I no longer have, its about 300 songs, so I will be sad if they are gone forever.

I added a few new albums to different artist folders, and instead of adding each folder to the library individually [using "Add to Library" from the File menu], I decided to take a shortcut and add my entire Music folder to the Library.
Now, a load of stuff is missing, and I have a massive collection, so I don't know exactly what's there and exactly what has gone. Searching using Finder confirms that the files are completely gone from my hard drive.
i downloaded a virus scanner for mac and found 18 trojans. so i deleted them and now all of my bookmarks and all of my music and folders in itunes have been deleted.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been clearing up my itunes music and have sometimes not clicked on the move files to trash to completely delete them. They are now removed form the itunes library but how do I find all the files no longer in itunes, but still held in the itunes directory? Also, I read that there could also be many duplicates, is there a way I can find them as well? I dont want to have to buy a third party program.

I recently got a new logic baord in my MacBook, and I think it had messed with my iTunes, because now I can't put new music or apps on my iPhone; so my question is what exactly happens when I deauthorize all the computers? I've had several computers with my iTunes account, and didn't realize I had to deauthorize them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that iTunes has deleted a random selection of music from my library. There is a useful little exclamation mark next to the track it has removed the data of. I have used spotlight to search to try to find the missing file, but without fail it opens my college notes from ten years ago. That's interesting. I suppose it is gone for good and I have to buy it again, preferably from the i-apple-store??

i tried to delete all of my duplicate songs in iTunes and it deleted all of my music. Is there a way i get my music back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis has happened twice to me. Each time I've gone from an iPhone to a different OS phone, either ALL my music disappears from my MacBook or (as most recently) a portion has deleted..... And if I try to rebuy the songs, it says I already have them? but they aren't there....I respect iPhones, but I enjoy the phone I have now and don't plan on going back to an iPhone any time soon.

At the moment most of my music is either stored on my Macbook or on an external hard drive. Is it possible to transfer all my music and videos to an external hard drive and then sync it with Itune so that every time I plug it in I can access them?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAs the title says i have installed the new version of itunes and it has removed my playlists, everyone even the recently added etc.
if i bought some itunes gift cards, can i use the money, to upgrade my music to itunes plus?
View 1 Replies View Related...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.
I'm not sure why, buy every so often I get prompted to upgrade some songs to iTunes Plus for $0.30 a track; songs that were originally purchased well after iTunes switched to 256kbps for everything anyway. Not sure why that is, because everything in my library already should be 256kbps since I did the massive upgrade when it was first available. That aside though...
In the last batch I accidentally hit buy all, not realizing it also included 9 music videos I once had but deleted long ago when I decided to make my iPods for music only. So when I saw them downloading, I just stopped them and deleted them, problem solved--or so I thought. Now everytime the iTunes terms and conditions change, or iTunes updates, or whatever, it automatically starts downloading these videos again and each time I have to delete them again.
I accidentally deleted my entire iTunes library. What happened was that I intended to delete all the songs from just one artist but for some reason, my iTunes deleted everything in my library which I have collected over the past 6 years. It gets worse because:
1 - I can't get my files back from my iPod because it died about a year ago
2 - I agreed to move all files to my recycle bin (at that point I had no idea I was deleting my entire library) and when I went to check the bin, none of the files were there
3 - I attempted a system restore but all it did was to return my folders with no files in them
4 - I tried to use a couple of undelete files software but none of them found the deleted files.
I'm really desperate to get my files back.
Well the title basically asks my question.
Is there an option I can set to where my computer will automatically delete the songs from the hard drive after it copies them to the iTunes folder? There is no sense in wasting space, and it seems trivial to have to delete them manually after they were copied automatically.
Also is there a setting to prevent iTunes from automatically adding and copying a song to it's library when a new song is played from any location on the hard drive?
I just switched from PC to Macbook pro. How can i transfer music in itunes in my PC to itunes in my new mac. Is there any free sofware i could use to transfer all the music? I used one software, but it is not free and i tried the unregistered version which only enabled me to transfer 500 songs, but i have 800-ish songs.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn trying to set up shared music among the users of my computer I think I deleted the original file info, even though there was a music folder showing folders for the individual artists in my library. These however now appear to be empty. I have the music listed in iTunes but when I try to open a song I get a window with the following message, "The song "...." could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" But no luck locating the files. The guy at the Apple Genius Bar said I could retrieve the music but refused to tell me how because it is supposedly illegal. I don't know why it is illegal because the tunes were purchased. But he did tell me to google the problem and I have come up empty handed.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi turned on my itunes a minute ago and all my music, movies, podcasts are all gone and it looks like a new itunes library!
What is the cause and how can i rectify this?
Ive spend two years building up my music and im kinda freaking out!!
Whenever I open up iTunes on Vista x86 it appears empty with all my playlist, videos etc. gone. The folder that iTunes gets my music from hasn't changed. When I open iTunes the iTunes Library Extras and iTunes Library Genius are always sent to the recycle bin and there is nothing I can do to stop that from happening. When I check my music folder new versions of those files are there. I am really scared that I won't be able to get my music back as I have a lot.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOver the past few months, I've paid for iTunes plus upgrades as they've become available for the different albums I'd bought from iTunes. However, I just noticed that they now claim that all music is now iTunes Plus.. but I still have 127 purchased tracks in my library that are not iTunes plus. I looked up the music in the itunes store, and sure enough, it is iTunes plus there. How do I get itunes to upgrade these 127 tracks for 30 cents per track or $3.00 per album?
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust yesterday I'm opening up iTunes and to my disbelief all my music was not there (40+ gigs worth). I try and close down and open iTunes back up but nothing, I restart my xp computer and still nothing. So I look under file explorer and it seems like all my music is still located under the "iTunes music" folder. So I uninstalled all the apple products on my computer and reinstalled iTunes 9 et. Al. And still no results. Does anyone know how to get my library to show up in iTunes?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my ITunes, the file shows up when clicked on to play, but the sound does not come out of the speakers. The song is highlighted in the juke box, the play button show a darker grey, but the song does not play, nor does the time advance or the pause button does not appear. TV shows, that I have downloaded for my daughter from the ITunes store, play video fine, but again, no audio. I have the up to date Quickplay, the audio level on ITunes is on max, the stereo speakers play on the internet fine. The system is a g4, with the current ITunes updates. I am still able to load music into ITunes, and transfer the music on to my IPod, my daughters IPod ano, and my wife's IPhone.
