I bought a new HD, so i reformatted my disk and at the same time the 10.6.6 update with the Mac App Store came by. So i reinstalled my OS, then updated. I have the icon on de dock, but when i click it, it just stays saying: Loading, connecting to the iTunes Store... But it hangs there. It doesn't do anything. I even opened iTunes, logged into the store, but still nothing in the Mac App Store.

I also tried using WindowsMediaPlayer 9 and Quicktime directly but I get an error. With Quicktime I get "The movie contains an invalid data reference"With WMP I get "This file may not play correctly because it was compressed using a codec that is not supported
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn 6 th April my BT homehub2 updated it's firmware and that's when the problems started. Broadband went down completely and powerlineadapters adapters for bt vision fried. After 2 telephone support calls we eventually got the home hub reset and connected to broadband. Bt supplied two new powerlineadapters and bt vision is now working. Laptop, iPhones and iPad (and bt vision) all connect fine and work completely well.
My iMac running OS X 10.7.3, appears to work in that it connects no problem to home hub and when you run diagnostics it says your Internet connection appears to be working normally... However I cannot get a web page to load - I have tried chrome, Firefox and safari. The bizarre thing is using Outlook I can send and receive email, also my apple devices are still syncing via the iCloud - that would suggest that the iMac is indeed connecting wirelessly to the router and sending and receiving data - just no web pages at all - also it can't connect to things like iTunes store or apples app store... Everything was working fine until the firmware update!
Also may/may not be related but when I log in now I always have to manually connect to router, it always connects fine but it used to do it automatically, also recently upgraded to Lion and I have my doubts there too?

Whenever I try to load the Apple web store in Firefox, none of the images show up. I have Adblock, but it is disabled for all of Apple Site. Attached is a screenshot of what I see at the Apple Store. It loads fine in Safari.

The little load icon appears and the "buy app" button turns light grey, but after this, is does nothing. I've left it on for a full 24 hours, and it still sat there.

When I start my Mini Mac, I press + hold alt. Then press windows when it starts up, it goes as far as the loading screen. Then the whole screen turns black and it restarts the computer. I tried putting it in safe mode, and putting it back were the last time it didn't have a problem, but both options just do the same thing as before. I don't want to delete windows.

A while back I "upgraded" to Yosemite and noticed my system ran slower and some web pages wouldn't load. I had Mountain Lion with less issues and less pinwheels. I went to YO to improve the slow loading but I now feel it is worse.
Should I return to ML or work out issues with YO? I've talked with a AppleRep a month back and did a PRAM reset and disc repair..My modem and router have been replaced without any notice in improvement.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Macbook has been running pretty slowly recently but only at log in. Its been taking ages to load my name at the top of if you try anything before is loaded my user profile I guess it just crashed. Also every now and again the wallpaper doesnt load up. Anyway to fix this is booted into safe-mode, verified the disk and repaired the permission. My work insists I use McAfee enterprise edition for Mac if connecting their servers so I am also protected from viruses and mal-ware. Its just got worse. And stranger still Safari still loads but thats all. Any other program will bounce a few times and then do nothing. Even mail, pages, dreamweaver, terminal, settings - everything. Safari is the only working program I have found that actually still loads. The internet connection works find and everything else. McAfee is sitting in my status bar so I am guessing that has also loaded properly.

When i close all the apps here starts interesting) I have Istat installed, so i can see what temps are in my system. Computer is cooling, and when cpu reaches 50-55 degrees (Celsium, from 80 degrees, because of heavy load) ,my left speaker produces a single loud pop sound. (like something turning of may be)

As anyone found a way to create a video playing screen saver in Quartz Composer in Snow Leopard. These screen savers work fine in Leopard but crash System Preferences when you attempt to load them in Snow Leopard. They seem to work just fine within Quartz Composer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone is uncomfortable with the future of doing all OS X updates in the App Store? I've always downloaded the combo updaters from Apple's website and installed from my hard drive. When I installed Lion I downloaded it from the App Store and then burned it onto a bootable DVD and installed Lion after booting off the DVD. And even before that I check the hard drive with disc utility and repair permissions before and after installation. Also shut down my mac and unplug all peripherals and then start back up. I've never seen apple suggest these things. So I wonder is Apple just a little too confident in OS X? Is OS X even more reliable than ever? Or am I just superstitious with the Mac voodoo?

Is there a way to restore the padlock? I have already tried "repairing" my install and the padlock did not come back.

Somehow I completely deleted my app store, time machine and system preferences. I have read that updates should fill in those missing. It hasn't worked for system preferences. For the app store and time machine they only say unexpected quit. How do I get these working properly again?

just trying to get back into Windows 7 after installing it via Boot Camp. Only thing is that holding down the option key during restart does nothing, and although the partition in which Windows 7 is installed under shows up in finder, I am unable to view it in system preferences so that I can boot from it. Any advice?
