Apr 13, 2012On 6 th April my BT homehub2 updated it's firmware and that's when the problems started. Broadband went down completely and powerlineadapters adapters for bt vision fried. After 2 telephone support calls we eventually got the home hub reset and connected to broadband. Bt supplied two new powerlineadapters and bt vision is now working. Laptop, iPhones and iPad (and bt vision) all connect fine and work completely well.Â
My iMac running OS X 10.7.3, appears to work in that it connects no problem to home hub and when you run diagnostics it says your Internet connection appears to be working normally... However I cannot get a web page to load - I have tried chrome, Firefox and safari. The bizarre thing is using Outlook I can send and receive email, also my apple devices are still syncing via the iCloud - that would suggest that the iMac is indeed connecting wirelessly to the router and sending and receiving data - just no web pages at all - also it can't connect to things like iTunes store or apples app store... Everything was working fine until the firmware update! Â
Also may/may not be related but when I log in now I always have to manually connect to router, it always connects fine but it used to do it automatically, also recently upgraded to Lion and I have my doubts there too?Â

Jun 14, 2012When I try to update the apps for my macbook air all that happens is that I am asked for my password, I type it in click on update all (I have also tried clicking on individual updates), and then that circle thing appears to go round and round endlessly. Jun 23, 2012Recently, I tried updating an app on my Macbook Air, specifically Red Crucible 2. I clicked update, it started downloading, reached 10 MB, then started downloading from the beginning again, and it kept looping. I have 23 GB free, so I'm sure it's not an issue with free space. I tried downloading other updates and the same thing happens again, it reaches 10 MB then starts downloading again!

Jun 1, 2014Under previous OSs (Snow Leopard and earlier that I am familiar with) the Software Update pane let you choose a preferred update and there was a menu item to ignore it, so it wouldn't appear again. I don't see anything similar in the new App Store update system under Mavericks. I am using an older printer driver - OEM, not the generic Apple ones - and definitely don't want to lose it to an update of those infamous generic and mostly useless Apple printer drivers, but I am afraid I might get distracted and update it inadvertently or with others.

Jun 19, 2014Purchased a Macbook Air, one generation back from current, for a new employee. That person has now left the company, and I have re-issued the machine to a new hire. Â
While the original employee's user account was deleted, and a new user account created for the person the machine was re-issued to, some updates (i.e.: iPhoto, iMovie) still require the original user's login credentials for the app store.Â
How can I fully transfer this machine to the current user, and make their account the one that the app store requires for these updates ?Â
The machine is running 10.9.3 .Â

Why does apple require a credit card with all the info, including my birth date, for FREE UPDATES?I find it very inconvenient when I am asked for payment info for something free. Jan 8, 2011I bought a new HD, so i reformatted my disk and at the same time the 10.6.6 update with the Mac App Store came by. So i reinstalled my OS, then updated. I have the icon on de dock, but when i click it, it just stays saying: Loading, connecting to the iTunes Store... But it hangs there. It doesn't do anything. I even opened iTunes, logged into the store, but still nothing in the Mac App Store.
