Is there an app (preferably free) that will automatically add cover art and metadata like artist and album name by song title? I've got a bunch of music that has only the song title, but is not categorized by anything. I remember seeing something like this before, but can't remember what it was. Is there anything that can do this?
View 2 RepliesOkay, so for two of my albums (both by the same artist) there are three pictures of each album as if they are each their own album. Every song is tagged the exact same, nothing's different, artist name and album name are the same throughout. Screenshot attached. I've tried clearing album art, deleting and reimporting, nothing seems to fix this.
Also, on that same album, half the songs don't play on my iPhone/iPod. They play perfectly fine on my Mac, and they are encoded the same as all of my other songs, but when I go to play them on my iPhone, the song never starts. Nothing freezes, the song just never plays. I have to restart the iPod app for any other song to play. I've tried restarts, restores, firmware upgrades, nothing. This problem has existed since 1.1.4. Why?
Moved my MP3s from my PC to my Mac, I have all my MP3s in an MP3s folder, under that folder is each band in their own folder. I am trying to add them to my itunes music library, pointing the preferences to the main MP3s folder but it shows nothing. How do I get it to add my music?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've run into an odd problem where iTunes (v8.0.2.20 Windows Vista) will not add, play or do anything with audio files (mp3) that it has previously played in the past (same version of iTunes). It played it one day, then the album disappeared and will not allow it to be added again, it does how ever work perfectly in Quicktime player, Winamp, WMP and other players. When I use Add Folder to Library, I get a quick "Processing files" dialogue, then it disappears (Same if I drag the folder into the library itself), and when I try to play the files individually, nothing happens at all. I've tried everything short of reencoding the files, which I want to save as a last resort (So as to not lose audio quality) and Ripping the CD again isn't an option since I no longer have the original after my car was broken into.

In my iTunes folder there's a path ~/iTunes/iTunes Music/Podcasts/Sundays Supplement
Containing all the subscribed shows.
So, I d/led all the .mp3s to this folder. No joy. Restart iTunes. No joy.
I was under the impression that you could just put new songs right into this folder and they would show up in iTunes. I added a bunch of music files (correct format of course) to this folder and they don't show up. I still have to use "Add to library" and browse to the actual folder and song for it to show up. What gives?

Well, I just noticed that most of the 10,000 songs in my library have at some point lost the original 'date added' they used to have. Now, the earliest date is sometime in February of 2010. And some have been set to just a few days ago. How did this happen? Is this a bug of iTunes 10? I only just noticed this, so I'm not sure when it happened.
View 1 Replies View RelatedItunes demons got me again. I have about 2 or 3 gigs out of my 350+GB collection on my internal HD. I keep everything on my external since it is so much. How this music copied to my internal HD I really have no clue. I just copied 15 cds in a row to itunes and half went to external and half went to internal. Everything plays and works fine I just want it all on the external. How can I get the music to my external without messing it up on itunes and taking forever deleting and re-adding music?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just set up my new uMBP (I know, I should have waited for the new chips, but hey - I got impatient!) I have moved my itunes media to the new machine but it is lacking all ratings, the original 'date added' as well as play counts. In fact, I have left all the old metadata behind, but these are the only three parts I'd like back. What I'd like to know is if there is a utility or mini app that can extract this kind of data from my old library file and add it to my new one.
I would have just moved the original library file but I have done that since iTunes 1 and the library file has become a bit messed up. I am rather enjoying my shiny new library file - I just want my ratings, 'date added' and play count metadata injected back in!
I love the playlist trick for the ratings but this is no good for 'date added' or play count obviously.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two questions/issues with iDVD. I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to iDVD but I have checked all over the internet for the answers.
First I am using the soft frame theme and I am using all three drop zones with video filling them. When I play back the dvd in the dvd preview the video plays very choppy. It is almost frame by frame. The effects of the menu are also slow (in fact the whole preview of the dvd seems to be slow).
My second problem is that when adding background music the dvd takes the whole length of the song to loop, and in the short time is takes someone to choose a button the first drop zone is still looping.
I find that I swipe on my macbook pro to go through the cover flow, I find that it lags or freezes then flies by as if to catch up. But then it freezes again, flies by, irritating. Has anyone else experienced this?

Why is it that when I'm in Cover Flow mode it shows art for a different song on the album and not the one I'm listening to?
It should just show the art for the song that's currently playing
this album is on iTunes. so there is cover art. i put in my CD and get an incorrect picture and CD listing. i fix this, i then try to import the correct picture and get nothing. i USED to be able to fix this by making sure that the album name, artist, and song name were the exact same as iTunes store....no dice now. the iTunes art is clearer than any Jpeg i will find...i would prefer it..but HOW? if i could just GRAB the art or point iTunes at the listing in the store, i would be appeased.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to the most latest i Tunes version, the cover flow view has gone all screwy, with no covers appearing, just the list of songs, which covers up the volume control etc at the top.
I have tried resizing but all it what's to do is move songs; I have uninstalled and reinstalled latest version, uninstalled and installed older version and even reinstalled OSX. NOTHING works.
I dont know if is a problem with the new itunes but compare the colors in cover art! ARE DIFFERENT in left bottom to the top...

Suddenly, random albums are showing multiple album art on Cover Flow. I'm sorting cover flow by "Album Artist", I've checked the "Part of a Compilation" box when appropriate, and made sure the "Sort Album Artist" field is correct.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I ripped my DVD's of Battlestar Galactica to iTunes. I select them all and get info and change metadata. All of them change except for one file, that refuses to change. in this case, the album artwork won't change from the first frame of the video to the DVD case picture from Amazon.
I did them all at the same time and all in handbrake, but this one file just won't accept the change. I've checked the file permissions and it seems to be set correctly.
I have another ripped CD that no matter what I do, none of the songs will accept changes to their metadata.
Anyone seen this? Solutions? I tried deleting it from itunes and re-adding it but still no joy. At a loss?!
