I have un-installed and re-installed to no avail. I have been in touch with Apple support and they suggested I take down my fire wall whilst I re-installed but nothing does any good. I still can't access the store from my Windows lap top.

i do not want the windows laptop to gain access to my mac but i wanna access and transfer files from the windows laptop to my mac.
im basically using my xp laptop as a downloading device.
is it something easy to set up?
what will the speed be like?
by the way i also have a firewire cable. i did connect the firewire cable to my xp laptop but the mac cant see it. something on xp came up saying it should install a software but couldnt find it when looking up on the net..
i would prefer wireless connection but if firewire is easier and much faster then yeah firewire is ok.
Have just upgraded my macbook to Lion. I logged into the app store, bought, downloaded and installed Lion no problem.
After upgrade I returned to the app store to download ibooks author. I can find ibooks author but when I try and install the app I have to sign in and I get a "connection failed" error message.
The same happens in iTunes when I try and view my account - "The network connection failed"
I can access the internet with no problems - including secure sites. I can access software update with no problems.
I have made no changes to my network settings - could sign in and download apps before upgrade, unable to after upgrade.

From within my local wireless network, I would like to be able to access individual space's screens from my laptop. Or at the very least, be able to easily work on a certain app/window on my desktop from my laptop.
I am wanting to remotely access my mbp using my mini pc laptop running windows xp. How can I do this? Would back to my mac work or not as I would be using a pc to access the mac? Are there any other free ways of doing this. It would be great to be able to travel around with the little pc which I don't mind getting scratched etc and leave the nice shiny mbp at home

I removed the drive and hoped to access it using an external controller however, since mac pro has spare enclosure, will i be able to use the laptop drive through that. I know its not a 3.5 " drive I just need to access it once to get some files out
I read through kernel.log among other areas in Utilties:Console as I suspected someone had been on my laptop without permission. I am trying to figure out what they did. Can someone help? Does anyone know if you can upgrade say the hard disk of a base level macbook pro (13 inch i'm looking at) AT the apple store? I guess to illustrate my point - I'm looking at the baseline 13 inch macbook pro and I wanted to upgrade the hard drive from the 160 gb - maybe the 300 or 500 gb hard drive. Because I'm only stopping by for a day I wanted to buy one on the spot (thus getting it at an apple store rather than buying it online).

The trouble opening my credit union account just started yesterday and it was usable the day before. I enter my username and password and the next window tries to open my account but ends up on a page that reads invalid username and password! What has happened to my settings?

I just recently installed Windows 7 on my macbook pro. Everything seemed to work well, especially after I installed boot camp for windows and its drivers.
However I can't seem to connect to the internet. My router is detected but when I select to connect to it I get no internet access.

I bought this iMac which was purchased new Nov 24th 2011 and I bought it from a friend in January 2012 as well as purchased the applecare. When I did a clean install it removed the iLife bundle and when I try to reinstall it the app store tells me this: These apps cannot be accepted by your Apple ID.These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID, and they will be available in that Apple ID's Purchases list. If you don't have access to that Apple ID and want to receive future updates, you will need to purchase the applications.I would not have done the clean install if I knew that it would take away some of the features but when the Apple employee told me how to do it he didnt tell me that some items would not reinstall without the original Apple ID (not that I blame him).Is there any way that I can get them back on my computer without having to purchase them. I think that since they came with the computer originally that it should be possible.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm on a macbook circa 2007 (not eligible for Yosemite). I was running 10.7.5 (lion) but had issues and had to reinstall from snow leopard disk. I've updated to 10.6.8 and installed combo update, but App store still won't open (it's crossed out in icon in doc and I get an error that says I need 10.7 to open it). So I can't update to 10.7 without app store and I can't open app store with 10.7. Catch 22.
I've tried restoring from Time Machine backups where system was using 10.7.5, but those restores failed.
I can't access any of photos, etc.
can u you install mac on a partition on a windows 7 laptop? and run both mac and win7?

I have a MacBookPro. Unfortunately something went wrong with my OS X and I tried to reinstall OS X. First for all I formatted my SSD in Recovery tool (Cmd+R keys) and the restart my laptop(Yeah, now I understand it was not so clever, but I'm new with macs). And now when I starting my mac I see in black screen a directory with "?" symbol. And Recovery tool doesn't work. And now I can't download nothing. But I have a Windows machine. The only thing I've recently done is run an advertised security update a couple of days ago. When I start iTunes and click on iTunes Store it just says "Accessing iTunes Store...", but never loads anything. I can update my podcasts with no problems. Could this new security update have screwed something up?
