I'm having trouble printing my images at 100%. For some reason that I haven't been able to troubleshoot, when I try to print an image from iPhoto, I lose a half inch or more of the photo around the edges. It even reflects that this will happen in the preview screen.

Image Capture used to work, but now what happens is that I open it up, and my printer/scanner Might show up for a second, but then it disappears and image capture tells me that there's no camera or scanner connected.I think it's stopped working ever since I upgraded to 10.6. View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed iPhoto 09 today and I'm having a hard time figuring out why does this new version does not read keywords from my image files (IPTC Metadata) All my photos are tagged with keywords "inside" the files (IPTC Metadata) and with iPhoto 08 all I had to do was to import the files to iPhoto and it would recognise those keywords! Now, in iPhoto 09, those "inner" keywords (IPTC Metadata) aren't recognised! Did Apple remove the IPTC Metadata support in iPhoto 09? From what I have read at Apple Discussions, there is a bug on iPhoto 09 that stops the support of IPTC Metadata ONLY when the option "Copy items to the iPhoto library" isn't ticked! If the photos are imported and copied to the iPhoto Library then there is no problem and the keywords are recognised.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to print an 11.98x17.97 image on a 13x19 sheet. I specify .51" borders top and bottom, and .52" right and left.
Instead, I am getting a 7.5x10.75" printed image with L 1 1/8" + R 7 1/8" borders and T 1/8" + B 5 3/8" borders. In short, a smaller image, shoved up and left on the sheet. See screen shot below.
Same happened when I tried to print a 4x6 image on an 8.5x11 sheet, until I was told by Kirby to enter the sheet size as a standard 'letter size' sheet instead of entering a custom 8.5x11" size. Is this the same? If so, what's the 'standard' size for 13"x19"?

So i just got a new 15in MBP and I'm transferring all my photo's and music and such over from my old macbook. However my iPhoto library is merely a picture and not a folder that i can transfer over.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to install several PowerMac G5s with the same image. All the PowerMacs are the same vintage, and two of the four seem to work just fine. The other two have the same issue.
I created a model machine that's suitable for cloning: installed and updated all necessary software, configured system settings, and then used Disk utility to copy the model system to a read-only disk image. I then used the Disk Utility application to prepare the system image for deployment by Scanning the Image for Restore.
I then restored the image to hard drives with Disk Utility. I placed in the four HDs in the PowerMacs. Two of the PowerMacs booted without a problem, the other two won't boot to the restored image. I tried holding down Option key when booting, and option to boot to the drive never shows up. Also tried resetting the PRAM, but that didn't work either.

Haven't had any success searching for an answer.
I have an aluminum macbook (April 2009) and when I use a picture as a desk top image, even HD resolution pics it never quite fits well as wallpaper. I have tried all options (stretch, full screen, etc).
When I had windows pics would always fit nicely. With my mac its either too stretched and just doesn't fit well
Anyone else have this issue? Am I missing something?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen i select a portrait photo the preview on the right shows the correct orientation, but when i click print the full print preview (and then the printout) has turned to landscape trimming the top and bottom off the photo. This has only happened since Yosemite.

I am seriously annoyed about an otherwise excellent application: I just imported a couple of pictures from my camera into iPhoto using the Image Capture app. I sometimes like to do it this way to review the images and movies before importing. Now I had serious problems on two occasions:
1. There was a raw file on the camera, which iPhoto couldn't process, of course
2. Apparently I closed the Image capture application too soon - after I did so, iPhoto complained about not having enough storage space, although there's more than enough space on the hard drive
Regrettably I had the "delete after import" box checked. Meaning, my photos are gone now! Or, are they? Where does Image capture put them and will they still be there? If not, where can I file a bug for Image Capture?

I have this problem, yesterday I tried to upload some photo's... Because this camera (a HP M440) is quiet windows-orientated, I used image capture to import my photo's and video's of it... First I uploaded the video's to the Finder and after that I tried to upload the photo's and import it to iPhoto automatically... Of course, I was quiet stupid as well, I shouldn't have used the automatic option to delete these 'imported' photo's... What I've already tried: 3 Of the possible solutions for recovering with iPhoto:
1. Used the Finder, iPhoto Library, show contents, and searched for them... Weren't there...
2. Use iPhoto Library Manager to recover the .xml-file, also no effect...
3. Used Option-Command with start-up and tried to recover them....................
I have a Disk Image that I've password protected, but have come to find out that even though somebody might not be able to get into it, they can still put it in the trash and delete it.
I've read some forums and everybody keeps saying, "Do a Cmd+I and select 'Locked' and that will prevent it from being deleted."
When I do a Cmd+I on the (mounted) Disk Image, there is no "Locked" option, only "Shared".
There is a "Locked" option on the .sparseimage when I do a Cmd+I on that...however, after I "Locked" it, I tried deleting it and the computer was perfectly happy to let me delete it...which kind of goes against the purpose of locking it in the first place.

How can I change the print quality when printing photos through iphoto on my iMac? I am running OSX 10.7.2 I have installed my printer with the latest downloaded drivers etc. The printer is a HP photosmart 5510. I have gone into system preferences, then print and scan. From here I can see my printer but can't see anyway of changing the print quality. Similarly, if I go into print settings via iPhoto I have the same problem. I have been able to change the quality in Safari but can't see how to create a default setting for photo printing at the highest quality

This button allowed (in Snow Leopard and even in Tiger) to see the final page full size, or even to save as a PDF file. This functionality is sadly missing on my computer since I have upgraded to LION, making me regret the move. Is there some pref somewhere that I should adjust, or just plainly forget about it. ? When I print, the dialog window does NOT show the Preview button anymore.

I upgraded to Lion and now can't print PDF files and Acrobat reader doesn't work anymore.
