App Store :: Extend The Library Of Software Instruments In Logic?
Jun 21, 2012
I am working with logic express 8 and would like to assign software instruments such as clarinet and celli to the midi-files of my keyboard. Yesterday I couldn't find woodwind instruments in the library of logic so I started to download mainstage 2 - which seemed to extend the library of logic. But unfortunately some software instruments (for example cello...) disappeared and instead of extending my library in logic mainstage made it smaller.
Info:
Logic Studio, Mac OS X (10.7.3), I am working with Logic Express 8
I want to save the hassle of trying to install using the DVDs as I'm anticipating that this won't be as simple as it should be and is likely to be less trouble with a download.
2 days ago i wanted to download logic pro 9 from the app store and to i did after a while it just said installing it never said downloading, i thought this was strange so i left it a while longer later i found still nothing had happened, i clicked on purchases to find logic in the area of (other purchases) and the box that would say download like the rest is grayed out SEE PICTURE BELOW, i have clicked to buy app again and it says the norm you have already brought this press ok to download but nothing happens it just does not download, i have e mailed apple they reset my account but i still have the same problem.Â
I bought a bunch of itunes cards to get some money into my itunes app store account, but when I try to purchase Logic Pro 9, the app store directs me to a page with credit card or paypal buttons. I want to use the money in my itunes account. How do I go about this?
Ok now, I've paid the money they needed, and tryed to download it, but it is always "waiting". Every time I want to download it, it sends me to the Launchpad and doesn't load for 12+ hours. I am on Mac OS X 10.7.4 and I don't know what to do.
I switched to a mac almost a year ago. About a month after purchasing my macbook, i installed this application, and then i didn't want it anymore. The app didn't uninstall properly and it crippled the mac (in my rookie mind). I then made another stupid decision of reinstalling leopard on the macbook. Everything installed correctly except garageband 08. It wasn't there, since i never used it, i just forgot about it later until i got a copy from a friend who recently purchased an imac. I just copied the app onto a flash drive and put it on the macbook. The app worked, except there wasn't any instruments, loops, etc. Now i want to use grageband and i was wondering how i can get those back. Are they on one of the install dvd's? Do i copy folders from my friends mac to mine?, if so which ones and where?
Not sure why this is happening, but I hear a distortion on the highs and certain instruments when I download certain CD's onto my iTunes library and then listen to them on either my Bose, headphones, or car stereo. I verified my setting on my iPod, and even leveled the Sound Check option, but nothing works. Does this mean that it's better to purchased the songs directly from iTunes so it can sound better or is there another option I haven't figured out. Also, are all the songs on iTunes remastered and sound levels automatically adjusted already?
Does anyone know if the Software Instruments that GarageBand provides will be compatible with MIDI Wind Controllers such as the Yamaha WX5? These instruments use continuous breath control as opposed to the velocity/aftertouch and envelopes more appropriate to keyboardand percussion instruments.
I was playing around with Garage Band 08 and I started to download some new instruments. The complete file was about 1 GB so I canceled the download but now Apple Update is offering me to install the "update" all the time. How can I get rid of this?
I have only just got a MIDI keyboard conencted via USB to control the software instruments on Garageband. The only problem I am finding is if I say, sample some drums, I can only play them back by manually placing them in the chord orchestrator. What I basically need/want is to control the track (the part on the left) by a single press on the keyboard; so if I wanted 2 kicks to sound, I'd press the key twice. But at the moment it's just not registering at all, and only allows me to play the stock software instruments with the keyboard
I have an iPad and I'm currently using iTunes Imatch to sync my music from my Mac to my iPhone and iPad. But I will no longer have access to my Mac. How can I transfer all music to just my iPad and access all music to be used from the iPad and iPhone
My ITunes library is almost 400 GB, I have it on a Mac Mini Server with 2 500 GB hard drives. How do i store some of it on the second drive? Or run my iTunes on the second drive?
The mini mac is full and I want to be able to use the 2 tb drive as storage and time machine. How do I get the content onto the external drive and access it it and hoe does new content get downloaded and stored to the drive not the mac? Also can I have 1 drive playing storeage and back up or do I need a second?
When I see some albums in the the iTunes Store I want to check whether I have some of the songs already. The Search function in the Store only refers to the store and not to my Library. So how can I open a second window in iTunes (one with the Store and one with my Library) to make it easier to compare?
Does anybody know what the specific differences are between Logic Studio and Logic Express?
Also, is there any place where I can get Logic Studio for cheaper than the $499 retail price? The cheapest place I found I was at MacMall for only $49 cheaper.
Can anybody find anyplace cheaper, preferably around $350 or lower?
I was wondering what the performance is like on storing all my itunes library on the TC. Can it be done properly? Does is work as expected? I will have my Mac Mini hooked up to the TC with ethernet, so is this ample?
Two songs purchased from iTunes store today. Download looked OK, new purchases do show in Store>Purchased list. I added ratings, and songs went to smart playlist for top rated songs. BUT songs do not appear in Library>Music where all songs are. Search indicates they do not exist. It is from this library I drag to other lists. But without them there I am stumped. Never seen this before.
Why do they store files in that library package and not in Finder?? This really drives me crazy and I feel like there has to be some sort of benefit that I'm not seeing. It looks like in Aperture I can choose to import photos to folders that are outside of the Library but you still have to manually choose where etc. It seems like in a perfect world, the files would show up exactly as the do in iPhoto, organized in folder by the Events that they reside in. And I can't even ctrl-click a picture in Aperture and say "Show in Finder" or anything! The reason I'm trying to do this is so that I can upload pictures to Facebook, as the Facebook uploader built into both Apps are extremely limited.
Is it likely? Aperture is a pro app and is on there, and it'd make sense if they also added Logic and Final Cut - it'd be like a professional version of iWork with the whole set.
I accidentally erased a music album that I purchased on iTunes. How can I get the iTunes store to recognize that it is no longer in my iTunes library and download it again?
so i've got a system with a fried c2d board. i can pick up a cd board for $150 plus shipping which is good for me. to find a comparable replacement, i'm looking at ~350 and i'm just not feelin that price as im on a budget.
i'm not concerned about the speed decrease as im just trying to get this thing rebuilt.
i understand that there are different heatsink assemblys..vertical vs horizontal. however, i do not know how to tell the difference and i am also unsure whether or not my c2d heatsink will work on this board i receive.
the logicboard possess a t7300 c2d and model # is 820-2279-a, it appears.
i cant find anything on that model, except for on ebay.
and i totally cant find the serial number on this macbook. under the battery on the tray has no serial number listed, and i've read through this documentation [URL]
I've been looking around for an enhancement to iCal - a menubar item that would display upcoming schedule items, and allow you to add things to your iCal schedule without having to open iCal each time.I remember that classic app, Claris something-or-other, that could sync with a Newton, was designed like that.anyway, has anyone heard of something like this to extend functionality of iCal in this way? Preferably OS 10.4 compatible, as I don't have 10.5.
I own an iMac with a 250 GB HDD along with a Macbook that originally had a 120 GB HDD. So when I purchased my 1 TB external HDD this summer, I partitioned the external so I could back up both my iMac and Macbook via Time Machine. Seeing how small the Macbook HDD was, I allocated roughly 300 GB of my external to it, with the iMac getting the rest.
My 2004-era G4 iBook, bought as a refurb a couple years ago, is still chugging away just fine, but I'd like to maximize its future usability without pouring a ridiculous amount of money into it. My thoughts so far:
-Max out the RAM. It's just a stock unit, so the result should be a nice performance bump for not much money.
-Put it on a ventilated stand when using at home. The iBook doesn't get blazing hot, so maybe this isn't a big deal, but the battery area sure gets warm, even when plugged in. Might make a difference over time.
-Proper battery conditioning. I've just been letting it run down about halfway, then charging it up again as needed. I probably need a more by-the-book method.
-I might hook it up to an external monitor at home to spare the iBook's LCD screen unneeded use, except I don;t know whether I can actually put the ibook screen to sleep while the external display keeps running....It might not make much difference anyway.
-Don't drop it.
Other things I can do to keep my iBook viable and healthy?
Just about to order a 3.06 with the 4850 and can anyone tell me if I can extend the display to run across a second monitor or does it just mirror the main display?
