Mar 8, 2009Id like to broadcast my OS X desktop on UStream and other streaming services. At the moment I'm using CamTwist to broadcast my desktop and stream to UStream.
Unfortunately the maximum output resolution for CamTwist is 320x240 which is really inadequate for screencasts. Can anyone recommend any software that will do the same job but output a higher resolution?

Apr 3, 2010My Mom just scored an iPad but doesn't have WiFi at home. She has a 4-5 year old iMac. Can it push out a wifi signal through airport? I went into sys prefs/ sharing/selected "internet sharing" from airport but then my choices are from airport to ethernet or firewire no other option. Hope I don't have to go buy her a router.

Apr 20, 2012I use my iMac for keeping tabs on a list of recuring events throughout the years as well as over the years. The events generally follow in particular months each year and have new attendees as well as returning participants from previously held events who continue to attend the events.
I have kept records in Word for Mac, on Pages & Numbers, but nothing works best like Address Book. I have several hundred participants that I would like to reorganize into a central location and find that Address Book might be best suited for the task. The problem is that I would like to keep separate these names and dates from my personal/business Address Book if at all possible.
"Can two Address Books exist on the iMac, each with its own intended purpose? Namely, Address Book 1 (Personal) and Address Book 2 (Events)?

OS X :: New Folder From Selected Items In Finder - Exist?
Dec 1, 2008I frequently want to grab a ton of junk on say my desktop and sort them into folders. Process is "make new folder, select all the items I want to go in it, drag them to it, name folder, move folder to where I want". What I want it to be able to do is select all those items and have a contextual menu command "Make New folder from selected". Ideally, popping up an Open/Save dialog letting me choose where to put the new folder and allowing me to name it. On closing dialog, I have my new renamed folder with all my selected stuff in it, wherever I want on my HD with no extra dragging and clicking. Does this sound worthwhile to anyone else? Am I missing some way that this can be done? Seemed like an obvious thing to me, was kind of puzzled to discover (AFAIK) no way to do it.

Mar 8, 2012I have a newly set up MacBook Pro with Lion 10.7.2. I have created a numbers file that is NOT saved on the Desktop. I have an icon of that file on the Desktop and can select it but the file doesn't exist. I have navigated to the folder as su in Terminal and the file doesn't exist. The icon shows on the Desktop though. The numbers document you can see above the selected is the numbers document that I saved after I had seen what I have described above. When I saved it there was no prompt to overwrite the file because it doesn't exist

Aug 29, 2014I use Apple Mail, of course that's IMAP.
I removed MailPilot that I was trying and somewhere the Folder MailPilot still exists. I tried to trash it, remove it, rename it and nothing can be done with it...it says that folder does not exist.
Is there any way to clean that out of my IMAP directory. It doesn't show up on iClould or Mail but does show up on Postbox. Yet the error is clear that my IMAP account still thinks it is there.
Using Mavericks. The Apple Mail program does NOT show this directory but is still must exist somewhere.

They had said if I'm able to use wireless then I should be able to connect to the server. When I click on it, it always says There was a problem connecting to the server. The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.

Aug 30, 2014I have a (little) problem with my new MacBook Air 2014 (13 inch.) running on 10.9.4 : when I connect it to any HDMI device (Philips monitor or Sony TV through Marantz amplifier) through a mini DP-HDMI adapter, I can't set audio output to HDMI because this option does not exist... However, I have video signal.
I've tried lots of "solutions", but nothing is working :
- Shutting down, restarting, sleeping with and without the cable connected
- Change HDMI cable
- Reset PRAM
Finally, I think the problem come from the Macbook because I have an other laptop (a Thinkpad with a mini displayport, with Ubuntu 14.04) and the video and sound are working normally.

Put a colored label on all folders in '~/Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources'.

Terminal ********:~ Roody$ open ~/Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources
The files /Users/Roody/Library/Application and /Users/Roody/Support/iCal/Sources do not exist.
So I checked and it doesn't exist indeed.
