Dec 20, 2007I'm creating several movies that will play before a church service begins. Usually we just buy countdown videos, but this time I thought I'd get creative and make some. There is always a countdown timer that starts at 5:00 and counts down to 0. This way people know when the service is going to start, from 5 minutes out. I have been searching and searching and cannot find any way to overlay a countdown timer in iMovie HD or iMovie '08 (I have both).
Can someone suggest something? I don't want just a countdown movie, it has to be only in the corner or something. I want to use some footage of driving to church, make it fast forward so it finishes in exactly 5 minutes, and have a countdown timer display overtop of that in a corner. I've tried using the Slick 5 Gallery for iMovie, but they just have countdown movies, not overlay. Also, the Labels & Overlays from stupendous software has a timer, but it only counts up.
Applications :: Using Skype Voicemail Timer - No Option In OSX, Only Windows
May 14, 2010I have skype going, I pay for both a skype in and out number, and I want it to go to voicemail even if I am online.
Right now, it just rings and rings and never goes to voicemail unless I decline the call or shut down the application. Which means if I am not there to answer, it just rings and never goes to voicemail.
On the skype website, it says to go to "Tools > options > calls > voicemail" to set the number of seconds before it goes to voicemail.... but that option doesn't exist in the OS X skype client!
ITunes For Mac :: Sorts Two Music Albums Wrong On IPhone
Jun 4, 2014I just bought two cd's; Tangled Soundtrack and Frozen soundtrack. And then i ripped them into iTunes in Alac format, as i always do.
In itunes the two albums are seperated, and shown as two albums as all my other music albums.
But on my iPhone, in the ipod app, it misxes the two albums in one, and just calls that one album Tangled.
E.g. :
Song 1 Cd 1
Song 1 Cd 2
Song 2 Cd 1
Song 2 Cd 2
and so on.
Why does it do that? Is there some sorting wrong in Itunes, or is there a setting on the iphone i have missed? I use the newest version of iTunes, but i have iOs 6.1.3 on my iphone. And I'm not updating the iPhone..

May 29, 2010I want to convert some video files (specifically swf in this case) to audio files so I can listen on my iPod. I looked everywhere and can't find some free software that does that. There are tons that have trial periods with lots of limitations (like it won't convert anything larger than a 5k size file) so I don't want those because I won't know if the thing works well unless I pay for it. I'm not opposed to paying for a converter IF I know it works awesome on a Mac.

Apr 21, 2012I am trying to figure out how to make a movie or series of screen captures that are timed less frequently than QuickTime Player's Screen Recorder Feature. Basically, I want a screen capture every second or two, so I can go back and see what I did during the day. The Screen Recorder would fill up my hard disc very quickly. When I click on the menu item that is the name of the current application, go down to Services and then click on Service Preferences, I see something called Capture Screen using Timer: I can't figure out how to use it. I created a keyboard shortcut, as you can see, but when I try to use it, nothing happens. Is there any documentation for this service anywhere?

Apr 20, 2012I use my iMac for keeping tabs on a list of recuring events throughout the years as well as over the years. The events generally follow in particular months each year and have new attendees as well as returning participants from previously held events who continue to attend the events.
I have kept records in Word for Mac, on Pages & Numbers, but nothing works best like Address Book. I have several hundred participants that I would like to reorganize into a central location and find that Address Book might be best suited for the task. The problem is that I would like to keep separate these names and dates from my personal/business Address Book if at all possible.
"Can two Address Books exist on the iMac, each with its own intended purpose? Namely, Address Book 1 (Personal) and Address Book 2 (Events)?

OS X :: New Folder From Selected Items In Finder - Exist?
Dec 1, 2008I frequently want to grab a ton of junk on say my desktop and sort them into folders. Process is "make new folder, select all the items I want to go in it, drag them to it, name folder, move folder to where I want". What I want it to be able to do is select all those items and have a contextual menu command "Make New folder from selected". Ideally, popping up an Open/Save dialog letting me choose where to put the new folder and allowing me to name it. On closing dialog, I have my new renamed folder with all my selected stuff in it, wherever I want on my HD with no extra dragging and clicking. Does this sound worthwhile to anyone else? Am I missing some way that this can be done? Seemed like an obvious thing to me, was kind of puzzled to discover (AFAIK) no way to do it.

I have an icon of that file on the Desktop and can select it but the file doesn't exist. I have navigated to the folder as su in Terminal and the file doesn't exist. The icon shows on the Desktop though. The numbers document you can see above the selected is the numbers document that I saved after I had seen what I have described above. Aug 29, 2014I use Apple Mail, of course that's IMAP.
I removed MailPilot that I was trying and somewhere the Folder MailPilot still exists. I tried to trash it, remove it, rename it and nothing can be done with it...it says that folder does not exist.
Is there any way to clean that out of my IMAP directory. It doesn't show up on iClould or Mail but does show up on Postbox. Yet the error is clear that my IMAP account still thinks it is there.
Using Mavericks. The Apple Mail program does NOT show this directory but is still must exist somewhere.
