Jan 4, 2010I just wanted to know how I could start the page numbers in header and footer on the third page of my document. The first page is the title page and the second page is the table of contents, and of course I wouldn't want the page numbers to be on those pages.

Feb 5, 2009I'm working on a brief, and currently have the non-page-numbered and the page-numbered components (the cover page, table of contents, table of authorities, etc etc, and the statement of the case and argument, respectively) as a separate document. It'd be nice if I can combine them into one document (makes for easier printing and management).
But I don't know how to offset the page numbering so that it starts on a certain page as "1" and goes from there. I don't want a page number on my cover page and table of contents, for example.

May 1, 2012I downloaded pages and numbers from the app store. Both apps downloaded to my phone and iPad but not on the iMac? I thought this was compatible with the iMac also? Did I download the wrong thing? Is there a seperate app for the imac?

I have a title page, a table of contents, and then the body of my document.
I have created a section at the bottom of the table of contents. Then in the footer, to the next section, I have tried to insert page numbers. BUT it routinely adds page numbers to the bottom of the first section as well. SO I have page 1 on the title page, page 2 on the table of contents; then I have page 1 on the first page and so on.

when i print more the 2 pages after each page the printer take out 2 blank page and than stops (i have to press its bottom to make it pull the next paper)

Mar 1, 2009Got Numbers 08 installed, never really used it as didn't have a need. Created a spreadsheet the last day with some survey results for a project and saved it.
My spreadsheet looks like:
(A1-Grey) - Sex - Age - Multiple choice question
(Blank-Grey) - Male - 30 - Answer1
(Blank-Grey) - Female - 25 -Answer2
With a blank column on the left that's grey and the top heading thing being grey. Bit lost though with turning say the "Multiple choice question" column into a pie-chart (or any sort of chart tbh). I choose the header and all the 30 or so replies in that column and select chart -> pie-chart. It presents me with a pie-chart "Chart1" with just blue - 100% and the legend stating : blue - Untitled 1. How would I go about making the chart with the data I need? (I know I'm selecting it wrong or have it laid out wrong or something) or editing a chart manually.

Jun 25, 2009I've done some work on Numbers and Pages (both 2008) on my MacBook. For some reason when I try to attach these documents to an email to send to my boss, they are grayed out so that I cannot click them and attach them. I've tried using my university's system as well as hotmail, ymail and gmail, so I assume it has something to do with recognition of the files. So far, I have tried to change the Numbers documents to .xls, but this does not solve my problem.
In this form, the properties ("Get Info") tell me that it is a Microsoft Excel document, but Numbers won't open it and in won't send via email. I have other .xls documents on my computer that I either received by email or downloaded, the icon on my desktop is different, Numbers reads it and they can be attached to emails. It seems that even though I change the .numbers files to .xls, there is still something missing for them to really be Excel files or at least sendable.

Apr 13, 2012On 6 th April my BT homehub2 updated it's firmware and that's when the problems started. Broadband went down completely and powerlineadapters adapters for bt vision fried. After 2 telephone support calls we eventually got the home hub reset and connected to broadband. Bt supplied two new powerlineadapters and bt vision is now working. Laptop, iPhones and iPad (and bt vision) all connect fine and work completely well.
My iMac running OS X 10.7.3, appears to work in that it connects no problem to home hub and when you run diagnostics it says your Internet connection appears to be working normally... However I cannot get a web page to load - I have tried chrome, Firefox and safari. The bizarre thing is using Outlook I can send and receive email, also my apple devices are still syncing via the iCloud - that would suggest that the iMac is indeed connecting wirelessly to the router and sending and receiving data - just no web pages at all - also it can't connect to things like iTunes store or apples app store... Everything was working fine until the firmware update!
Also may/may not be related but when I log in now I always have to manually connect to router, it always connects fine but it used to do it automatically, also recently upgraded to Lion and I have my doubts there too?

Aug 29, 2014I have an early 2008 imac, running Mavericks.I can open existing Pages and Numbers documents and everything seems to work fine. (using Pages 5)But I can't open a new blank document in Pages or Numbers. (I get spinning beachball, 99%+ cpu, must force quit) Also I can use preview to open any document (pages, numbers, text, jpg), but if I try to export as pdf, it freezes using 99%+ cpu, and must be force quit. I deleted and reloaded Pages, also reloaded Mavericks. it didn't work.I replaced the containers and preference files. No difference.Fontbook did find like 100 warnings in my 800 fonts, no errors though. Other weirdness: Quicktime has lots of weird behavior - opening windows for previously viewed videos, cursor unable to operate the controls or close/minimize windows) I have to use quicktime player 7 instead.
