ITunes :: Won't Recognize Or Burn Blank CD

I recently updated to iTunes 10.6.3. Since the update, I have been unable to burn CDs from any iTunes playlist. When I hit Burn, it asks me to insert a blank disc; I do; but then iTunes doesn't recognize that I have done so.Â
Strangely, I am able to burn the CD just fine in Toast Titanium, which did recognize the blank CD -- so the problem isn't with my SuperDrive. It seems as if iTunes isn't talking to the rest of the Mac.Â

When I insert a blank cd or dvd I do not get a disc image on the desktop. When I open disc utility I can see the disc in superdrive but I cannot eject it. If I insert any disc that has any kind of info on it then I have no problem.Â

I recently recieved a used MacBook Pro and tried to insert a blank CD but nothing shows up. After a minute or two the CD just pops out of the CD slot.

My iMac will not recognize a blank DVD-R that I am trying to burn. It also won't eject unless I "shut down" and restart while holding down the mouse button.

I got my Mac Pro about 1 week ago. I got the BTO of 2 super drives. Well, I just tried burning an ISO and when I put in a blank dvd it won't pick it up to burn the file. I have tried with Memorex DVD+R's and Sony DVD-R's. Neither will work. Now the weird thing is regular dvd's work, games, and even Windows 7. Also I have toast 10 and it will pick it up but when I choose ISO and drop the ISO in it, it then says it can't burn audio tracks or some warning.

I have a problem with my internal SuperDrive where it is saying that blank DVD's are not writable. When I insert a blank disk the Mac recognises it is a blank disc as the Blank DVD Options box appears but when I actually go to burn a disk the burn will start then immediately fail saying the disk isn't writable. From Disk Utility I get the following info from a blank disk: MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-85J:Firmware Revision:FEW7 Interconnect: [code] It doesn't matter what brand of disk I buy (have tried Verbatim, Bulkpaq, Sony, Tesco & Asda) I get the same issue. All these disks have then worked fine in my girlfriends PC (yuk!) laptop so I don't think it is the disks themselves that are at fault and the fact it is happening with different brands points to a problem with the drive rather than the disks. The drive seems to be working ok as it will play DVD's ok.

My MacBook Pro running OSX Lion no longer recognizes blank discs: the disc does not appear on the desktop or in finder.
When I try to burn a playlist from iTunes I get the error message: "The burner is in use by another application".I am also unable to eject the disc using Disk Utility and have to reboot to get the disc out.Other media discs (software, music etc.) are read without a problem.

When using Final Cut Pro X (iMac mid 2011 model-version 10.1.3) to burn 1 hour movie onto DVD, it seems to render but when computer says 'Sharing to DVD successful' and yet DVD is blank, what's my next move? Burning hardware is working as I burned a project using iMovie afterwards. I filmed a funeral service and family get together afterwards but can't share it with family and friends...

I am going to install a new SSD drive on my MBP mid-2009. After it is installed, can I then start up computer and then insert the DVD Install operating system disk, or do I install the DVD install disk, then shut down computer and swap the HD drive? I know that I will reformat the disk when Installer begins, but I want to know if the computer will recognize the install disk with a new blank HD in place.

I tried to burn a photo cd with the burn folder, but the blank media disc does not mount on the desktop after I insert the blank cd. The computer doesn't know there is a blank media disc in the drive and won't even eject it. I have to reboot the computer for the Imac to spit it out.

I was trying to burn a new cd and before I used the application I had inserted a blank disk which my computer didn't recognize. When I tried the application to burn the burn folder, I got a message to insert a blank disk. I tried using the Disk Utility, but when I try to select the volume Superdrive, the option is dimmed. How do I eject the blank disk from my Superdrive? I tried restarting but that did not eject it.

When I try inserting blank (brand-new) CD+ or CD- and DVD+ or DVD- discs, the slot-drive seems to accept the disc just fine. But then. I hear 2 short "whirrs", nothing for about 10 seconds, 2 short "whirrs", nothing for about 10 seconds, 2 short "whirrs", then the disc is ejected.I have experimented w/different discs & get the same results each time: drive accepts the disc for about 30 seconds, never mounts it on desktop, then ejects it.

Suddenly (as of this AM) my iTunes App Store pages are blank. Never had this problem before. [I'm running a MBA under 10.7.3, with latest iTunes (10.5.3).]Â Symptoms: The Home Page is completely blank except for right panels (Quick Links, Top Charts) and iTunes Store footer; all other tabs on top do the same, except for App Store page, which is completely blank.Connection to Store is fine--iPhone syncs w/o a problem, and I can see my apps, music, updates, etc., can even access my Wish List.Updates download w/o problems, but if I try to view page for an app, only the top part of the page loads, down to "What's New in version xxx". Everything below is blank--no views of app, no Reviews, etc.Category pages will load, but without any Thumbnails, only text, but Purchase buttons work.My iPhone connects and appears as it should--no problems at all.

I have been trying to open a web page on a site I have visited with no trouble before, but all I get is a blank, white page instead of the news article that it linked. Others are able to get the article, but I just get a blank page. I've tried using Safari, Camino, and Firefox, and all give me the same non-result. Could this be something to do with the Safari update I installed this morning??Â

My Safari homepage is blank. Bookmarks and toolbar are there but my Earthlink page and address bar are blank. The Safari version is 3.1.2 and the OSX is 10.4.11 My Internet Explorer (which I rarely use) and Firefox are working fine.
