Is there a way to merge two separate iTunes accounts into one? I don't want to "share libraries." I just want one account that once stemmed from two seperate accounts and has all of the purchases and history.

Recently when trying managing my AppleID account, I was asked to make my appleID the same as my email. When I tried to do this, I was then told that an appleID by that name already existed. So I then attempted to login using my email address as my appleID. It was then that I realized that I have two separate appleIDs. One I have had for years, and has tons of music associated with it, the other I must have created in the last year when updating my iPhone software version. I have no idea how much of what is associated with the new one, but I think the only way I could find out would be to format my phone and start again. Now she has two user accounts: the one she initially set up on the new MacBook Pro, and the old account we brought over from the old machine. And there are iTunes libraries in each of these user accounts -- I believe they're both set up under the same iTunes account. Â
In addition to the two OS X libraries, there's her iPhone, which was synced with the old white MacBook account. Â

I've been using Mail with my .mac account, and this morning tried adding my hotmail and gmail accounts to it. Unfortunately, Mail pulled messages from all three accounts and dumped it into one inbox. Is there a way for me to separate it - so that I have one inbox for one account, another inbox for another account?
I want to keep the mailboxes separate because I use them for different things (work vs home vs general internet shopping, junk mail, etc.), and don't want to miss a work message while mass-deleting junk mail, for example.
I just upgraded to Lion and moved my MobileMe info to the iCloud. Unfortunately, Apple has created two different iCloud accounts. I set up three separate accounts each using the same return mail server: mail.comcast.net, but with separate smtp account names, password etc.No matter what smtp setting i use to send mail, i get 3 duplicate emails when anyone replies to my message. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I have 3 email accounts between us (1 personal one each and a joint email for stuff like banks and bills etc.) When we first got an Imac I set all 3 accounts up in MacMail and ran 3 different inboxes which worked ok apart from the fact that when sending emails we would sometimes mistakenly send our emails from the wrong account (eg my wife would send something from my account or vice versa)
this isn't a huge problem and with a bit of concentration would not happen, however it was inconvenient and needless to say I was kicked out of Mail and had to seek refuge in a copy of Thunderbird. (which I just can't to seem to get along with)
Since then I have been trying to find a way for 2 people to co exist in mail without using 2 separate accounts on the mac (this is not an option as the wife won't have it!!)

Before moving to a new Mac I backed up my old itunes music library.xml file and manually added all of my music files to itunes on my new mac.Â

I have an iMac 27 (end of year 2009) I5.It has 1 TB internal and I want to replace it with a 2 TB internal. I have time machine backups on an external hard drive that has been connected via Firewire. I have another iMac (my son's)Imac 24 Intel Core 2 Duo that has it's own separate Time machine backup to it's own separate firewire connected external drive.Both machines are completely up to date with the latest version of Lion and all other necessary software updates.When the internal hardrive is replaced - I want to use my latest time machine backup to create one profile on the imac and then use my son's latest time machine back up for a second profile.The end goal being to have everything from my current set up ie: apps, documents, itunes, etc existing in one profile and everything in my son's current set up existing in the other profile.We can both be administrators for the time being as well.I should note even though we both have some of the same apps, we both also have other apps that the other does not.
My profile will be using about 900 gigs of total space.My son's profile will be using about 250 gigs of total space.This is temporary until the new iMac is released.Then I will want to transfer my profile to that leaving my son's intact on the iMac 27 I5.I realize that during the temporary period that Time Machine will be making backups of this entire two profile setup, which I am now understanding as I write this will create a new issue for me when I want to transfer only my profile to the new computer as well.But one bridge to cross at a time, I guess.I need to do this because we must bring his current computer to my father - as his iMac G5 is inoperable. We have been doing this round robin hand me down in our family since IMac DV special edition :-)

I have one official iTunes library with music files on my Mac and then I have a folder on my backup drive with iTunes music files. These two directories are mostly the same but they each have a few differences. I want to backup my iTunes music onto that backup drive but I need to make sure that I get all the music from my Mac and the backup drive. The folders are slightly different and I don't want to lose any music.Should I just run an rsync command to merge the two folders together into a third folder and then use that as my backup?

I have a large iTunes library on a WD 2TB external hard drive from a older computer in which iTunes would play items off the external HD and no iTunes item save on the internal HD. The library consists of music, movies, shows, books, apps, etc. I just recently bought a used 1st gen MacBook Air and without thinking transferred purchases from my iPhone and started syncing with the Air before I thought about the older library on the external HD. Now I have a new, small library on the Air's internal HD and the older, larger library on the external drive.
What I'd like to do is merge the smaller into the larger one and keep the library on the external HD and iTunes read everything from the external HD. With merging the 2 libraries, will it transfer my iPhone stuff as well? (backups, apps, info, etc.) Also, now that my iPhone is synced my Air and no longer synced through my older library, will I have to re-sync it again when the 2 are merged or will it automatically recognize it as already synced to newly merged library? Currently running OS 10.6.8 and iTunes 10.5.2.
