I have a folder full of mp3 files that are organized in the way that I defined. I'd like to import to iTunes maintaining the same organization. I thought about creating Playlist folders using the same structure of my files. Is there some way of creating this?

It kinda sucks if I have to sort out all the good stuff again, so I hope I can get my old playlist back. I have it on my ipod touch as well, so I dunno if you can transfer playlist from ipod to mac

I am trying to make up a playlist of my top 100 most played songs I thought I had done it but when ever a new song is added and reaches a play count high enough to be added to the playlist it does not show up.
what I should select when creating this kind of playlist?
I have a fair bit of music in iTunes, and it has bugged me somewhat that often when I want to delete many files something it's easier to go into a playlist to find them. But when I delete them from there it only removes them from that playlist, not the computer. I guess this makes sense, and I suppose nowadays space isn't often a problem.
In case this isn't clear, what I want to do is go into a playlist, then select songs, then delete those songs from my hard drive.
For some reason when I go to drag music to a playlist in iTunes, it will not move. Then I restart the program and it will work, but only for a little while and then it is back to not being able to move again. I tried clearing the preference files and no luck.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use iTunes a lot in a classroom environment. Usually I play most songs from playlists. But every now and then I need to move to a song quickly that is not in that current playlist. My habit is to enter the new song's title in the search bar, but that doesn't work because if I am currently playing a playlist, the search bar only searches that current play list. Then I have to select the total music library and search from that level.
is there a fast way to search the entire music library for a song while a playlist is currently selected in iTunes?

Recently downlaoded music from iTunes. It shows up on main user library, but not on second user music library which is also in shared folder. As a result, second user can not add newly downloaded music to a playlist and then sync to iphone/pod. It does not show up in what is supposed to be the shared music library.

I have several thousand songs organized with a certain Artist/Album/Song structure. I also have uncategorized folders in my music folder with a bunch of random songs inside. Is there a way to sort the music list in iTunes by location, so I can choose all the songs in that folder to add to a playlist, or can I make a smart playlist that takes all the songs in the folder (and scans for new ones whenever)? If not, is there something else I can do to accomplish this?

Any type of audio track I attempt to import into 10.6.1 is not showing up. There's a similar thread here and it was determined that turning Match off then on fixes the issue, but I don't subscribe to Match so that doesn't work for me.
I've tried adding tracks to the main music library and to a playlist by dragging into iTunes, open with, double clicking on the track, and dragging the track onto the icon in the dock. Nothing. I've tried numerous different tracks, all of which play fine in Finder.

How do I import music from a flash drive that was formatted with a windows PC to my MacBook - the drive is showing it has over 3GB of info on it but none of the files are showing up in finder? View 2 Replies View RelatedMy iTunes folder is in /Louis/Music/iTunes, but for some reason iTunes keeps creating a separate folder /Macintosh HD/Music and dumping a few songs by a few different artists there. I've tried 'consolidating' the library twice, deleting the songs from iTunes and re-adding them. I have the 'keep iTunes music folder organized' option as well as the 'copy files into iTunes folder' options checked. Nothing works. What is wrong? It makes absolutely no sense why it would create it's own random folder and dump the songs there.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I go into my iTunes folder (on windows ) all of my music folders are empty. There is an artist folder and an album folder for all my music but each one appears empty.
When I right click on the main iTunes folder it tells me that I have 26gB of stuff so it must be there somewhere (and I haven't set them to be hidden files). When I am using iTunes and go onto 'Get Info' for a song, it tells me that it is in the iTunes folder. Also, when I search for a specific song title in Windows, the file is shown.
