OS X :: Won't Work With IMovie Videos / Not Showing Up On YouTube
Nov 30, 2008
I'm having an issue with iMovie '08 and YouTube. I recorded my iMac unboxing and even short clips using the iSight Camera, and tried to publish them to youtube. The videos say "Published to YouTube" beside them and all, but when I goto YouTube, the videos are not there. They don't even say "Awaiting Review" or whatever. They just aren't there. I'm entering correct account information and all. I'm annoyed, because one of the reasons I decided to get a mac was to engage in YouTube.
I am doing a school project where I need videos. How do you rip videos off Youtube and have them in the format for imovie (free). Also does anyone know how to rip videos off the c-span website?
i hav the nu macbook pro 13" an i'm totally nu to macs. so i go to youtube to watch vids an the whole page loads but it wudnt play the vids. i hav flash player fr macs installed.
Youtube vidoes are working fine when I'm actually on youtube but if its embedded on another website (facebook, forums etc.) it won't load. On forums, the space where the video is embedded is just blank while on facebook when I click play, there is just a white screen. I've re-installed my flash player multiple times. I've disabled all plug-ins and still won't work. I've taken out my com.apple.safari plist onto my desktop and loaded my safari again.. still doesn't work...
My plugin list from safari: - DivX Plus Web Player - DivX VOD Helper Plug-in - Facebook Video Calling - GameTree Download Manager - Glims - Google earth plugin - Java Applet plug-in - Quicktime plug in 7.7.1 - Sharepoint browser plug in - Shockwave flash - Silverlight plug-in - Webkit buit-in PDF
One bizzare thing: Embedded youtube videos will load if I login as a guest user or as another user on my mac.
Info: Running Mac 10.7.4 Safari 5.1.7. Late 2011 model MacBook pro. iOS 5
I am running iMovie '09 (8.0.6) and iPhoto '09 (8.1.2) running on a late 2007 iMac with Snow Leopard (10.6.3).
I have dozens of avi format videos imported from my point and shoot digital camera in the iPhoto library and iMovie used to be able to see them. Not any more. It now recognizes only a handful from a couple of years back.
I use iMovie frequently for copying VHS tapes of our travels. Suddenly it quit showing ther clips. The video shows up on the screen but no clips. Hence I can't make a vidoe for burning onto DVD.
Whenever I go to watch a YouTube video, no video plays its just sound. I've tried using three different browsers (Safari, Google Chrome, FireFox) all to no avail.
i'm having this minor but annoying problem with Firefox. every now any then when I move my mouse over the volume button while I'm watching a Youtube video in order to get the volume bar to pop up, nothing happens. if i click repeatedly on the button and go crazy it will pop up, but it will not let me slide the volume bar up and down. i don't remember having this problem with Safari. it's sort of like the browser isn't recognizing my mouse cursor hovering over the volume area in order for it to trigger the bar to pop up, if that makes any sense.
I tried to import a .mod converted (in Streamclip) .dv file into iMovie 6 but received the following error: The file could not be imported: The file Macintosh HD/Users/alix/Movies/MOV03A.dv cant be imported; QuickTime couldnt parse it: -39
My iMovie title preview pane now shows a gray background, rather than the standard black one (see attached screencap). When I add a title to a project, the background around the text is black, rather than transparent.
So i've recently gotten in the uploading to YouTube craze with my Flip Mino HD but i'm not too happy at the way i've been doing this and am hoping there is an easier way.
As of late i've been importing what i film into iMovie. In iMovie i'll edit the video to my liking. In iMovie i'll "export" to the media browser so it'll show up in GarageBand. Then i'll open GarageBand and edit my film further, dealing with sound; adding music. After that i'll export it as a .MOV to my desktop. Then i'll open iMovie again and import that .MOV file and from there in iMovie will have it upload to YouTube in its original HD format.
I'm running iMovie 4, I do believe it is, and youtube is not recognizing my videos as a correct format to upload. The videos are .mov but I also read something about them needing to be mpeg4. How do I convert the videos to mpeg4?
i tried clicking every single button inside the youtube video like the pause, full and annoations, then i took my mouse out and i tried to right click the settings, after opening it, the settings box was INSIDE the video, and i cant click it, sooo, is it my mac or is it youtube problems, since its in beta mode, coz, if its my mac ima go to the technitions
I have a video I want to upload to Youtube (made in iMovie 3.0.3). If I use Full Quality export on iMovie, the file is 1.34gb, which is out of the question. If I use the next best quality (CD rom), the video is 31mb, which looks okay on my computer, but it's frame rate was **** on Youtube. I'm not a video editor or anything, so iMovie's "Expert Export" options baffles me.
What should I do in the expert export to have file that's smaller than a gigabyte, but will upload good on Youtube?
I am having a very hard time downloading youtube videos.
I have an app that will take out the video and turn the audio into mp3 which works perfectly
but I do not have an app that will download the video to view it at a later time.
I used to use Jdownloader , but downloading stops with a message saying "Aborted" , and sometimes when it is downloaded , the video will be corrupted with a blackout.
Is it possible to use my little built in camera on the top of the screen to make youtube videos? Is it even possible to use the camera at all? can I somehow use it to link up with others and talk to other people over the 'net? Do I need to get a Mic for it?
I just got a Macbook Pro 13" and one of the problems is when i view a HD video on YouTube, during playback it stops and starts constantly.. Is this a connection problem and if so are there any ways i can enhance it? Or is there a way to change some settings from within the OS?
I am connected to my home wifi network and it works great for everything else. Regular YouTube videos playback fine.
Before I ask my question I must state that I know very little about computers. Is there a way to download videos from Youtube that would be fairly simple?
I'm uploading videos i've shot with my camera, edited and uploaded to YouTube in HD. I do plan on making a backup with an external HD but don't have access to it till I go back home in a few months, so was wondering how can I download my own videos from YouTube, preferably in HD? Currently i've been using the programs "iSky Free Video Downloader" & "Tooble."
