View 1 RepliesWhy is it that I have songs sorted in a certain order (tracks 1 to 10 for instance) and on my iphone, they're in reverse from 10 to 1. I double checked playlist on iTunes and re-synced. Same thing. Is there a fix for this?

I have shuffle turned off. Seems like it shoudl be the simplest thing in the world to do, but I can't click and drag songs to change the order.

I know that I used to be able to drag songs to a different order in my iTunes playlists, but tonight, no matter the order that I add the songs to the playlist, or Smart Playlist, the order of the songs is alphabetically arranged, and the only other option is to click on "name" but then it just does reverse alphabetical order. Is something different, in a recent iTunes upgrade? I'm a music teacher and I am trying to put the songs in the order that my students will be performing them next week?

I want all of the songs in a playlist to have the equalizer set to "Dance". I find changing each song individally to be time consuming and tedious. Is there a way to do it all at once.. like Command-A does for selecting all in other applications?

I'd like to keep the order I put it in, not alphabetical. Thoughts?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. See an attached example screenshot for Erykah Badu's Baduizm Album.

I have been working on a playlist and want to send it over to a friend via dropbox. However when I move the playlist to a folder outside of iTunes the order of the songs changes. How do I stop it form doing this?

on mac, what is the command to add a song in itunes to an exiting playlist?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I make a playlist in iTunes to the order I want to burn the songs in, after the CD has been burned it has changed the order of the songs. I have tried clicking on the 'copy to play order' button on that playlist folder, but nothing seems to work.Â

I am relatively new to iTunes, and have burned dozens of CDs before. However, all of those CDs have been complete albums. I tried to burn my first mix recently, and found that the CD had been burned with the songs in the wrong order.
I must be doing something wrong, but there doesn't seem to be too many areas where iTunes makes it even possible to mess something this simple up, so I pretty confused.
I make a playlist, hit burn CD, select Audio CD, and go. The songs make it, but like I said, in the wrong order. They get organized by album, but I just want the CD to look like the playlist on the computer.
Has anyone run into something like this? It is iTunes 8.0.2.
When I burn a disk from my playlist the songs are out of order.

Suddenly I'm unable to click on an album and have it play in its entirety; there is a shuffle option but I don't want to shuffle. Why won't it automatically play the next song in order? It seems to play only one song at a time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I download albums in iTunes, it scrambles the song order. How do I prevent that, and fix it when it downloads in the wrong order?

My iTunes playlists used to give a precise total play time. Now that I downloaded the new version of iTunes, the playlist just estimates the time. So, "1 hour" could mean 1 hour and 2 or 3 or 4 minutes. That is a big problem for people who teach 60-minute fitness classes! I plan my class around that playlist, and 3 or 4 minutes is a big deal. Now I am having to add up the time of songs by hand. What a pain! Is there any way to get back the old format of time, which estimated exactly "59 minutes" or I think it was more precise, like "00:59:12." I need this format back. The estimate of "1.1 hours" is killing me.

The Get Info functionality is completely gone from the command-click menu! Now I can't manually change my song info? Did they change it or completely remove it?

I know *how* to do this, by going to "get info", and I have done it before. But, for some reason I *can't* actually do it anymore. When I select a group of songs to change info on, it acts like its going to work but then does nothing. When I select a single item, the get info tab is completely grayed out, nothing can be clicked on or changed. I have tried checking the song outside of iTunes to make sure it isn't read only or anything and I haven't found any issues with that. None of these should have any copy protection, they've all been ripped from cd or downloaded.
The only way I have been able to change anything so far is to convert the mp3 to AAC. I really don't want to have to convert the whole library. What is wrong with this?? How do I fix it?
i have my music on an external drive and the drive is the default music folder in preferences. for some reason i am no longer able to touch any of the filename information, all is greyed out.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Safari 4 beta and there seems to be an issue with playlists on music/video sites like Youtube and Imeem. When I start the playlist, the first song will play fine but if I don't have the window active it won't advance to the next one. It'll just sit there loading. I have to select the Youtube/Imeem window for it to progress to the next song.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased The 99 Darkest Pieces of Classical Music from Amazon. Yeah, it's sucky MP3, but it was free and I'm not a big classical music buff. I have the Album Artist field empty, and every track marked as "Part of a Compilation". So far so good. When I go to change the Artist field of any track, to fix a misspelling or capitalization error, for example, that track is instantly dragged out of the track listing for 99 Darkest and into its own album, with the album name being Unknown Album. This despite the track still being marked as Part of a Compilation. If I restore the original spelling, the track is dragged back into 99 Darkest's list. It's not like iTunes to maintain state like that. What's happening and how do I fix it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently updated iTunes to the newest version and it changed the top middle yellowish panel to the bars that show the type of sound being produced. I was wondering if it was possible to change this area back to displaying the song progress and the song artist?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a playlist where iTunes remembers where I left or skipped a song previously. Even if I play this (play)list from head till toe, so to speak, iTunes happily starts songs in the middle or near the end. Kind of enoying. I have this behavior in only one of several playlists. Is there a way to reset this behavior?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter some test-driving of various audio-player software, I've settled on Cog as the best player for my purposes (simple and lightweight, with minimal memory / resource usage).
Overall, I love the program, and it does exactly what I want it to, with two exceptions - whenever I quit and reopen it, it forgets A) the song order of its current playlist, and B) its place in the playlist when it was closed down. It'll remember which songs were on the playlist, but resets the song order to default, and by so doing also loses its place.
When selecting a song to play from iTunes library, I continually get an error message indicating the original file could not be found. Then asks, would you like to locate it?I'm not even able to play the songs I purchased due to this error message.

There's something that's been bugging me for ages, literally years:
I've got a whole lot of music, 45 days worth, and I view it by date added and want to keep it that way for a number of reasons.
Problem is, when I want to play an album I have to click on the first track, then switch to album (or artist) display by the end of that track.
The other day I added an album by dragging it into iTunes in the Finder. I noticed that I could start and stop and advance and rewind tracks and it would go in order, from first to last track, even in Date Added mode, so it was visually moving up and down instead of from top to bottom.
Is there secretly a way to view in Date Added but have the next track be the next track on that album? Besides dragging the tracks into iTunes from the Finder I mean.
If anyone has a way to do this, it would seriously improve my life and I would be infinitely grateful.
