Suddenly I'm unable to click on an album and have it play in its entirety; there is a shuffle option but I don't want to shuffle. Why won't it automatically play the next song in order? It seems to play only one song at a time.
View 3 RepliesI have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. I have downloaded a song and when I go to play it...it bounces off of the song and will not play. I have iTunes 10.6.1......Apple charged me for the song already. I went to Support but could not find a solution specific to my issue. I have downloaded over 2500 songs and this has not happened before. This song was one of nine other songs I downloaded that evening...all others came through successfully.

There's something that's been bugging me for ages, literally years:
I've got a whole lot of music, 45 days worth, and I view it by date added and want to keep it that way for a number of reasons.
Problem is, when I want to play an album I have to click on the first track, then switch to album (or artist) display by the end of that track.
The other day I added an album by dragging it into iTunes in the Finder. I noticed that I could start and stop and advance and rewind tracks and it would go in order, from first to last track, even in Date Added mode, so it was visually moving up and down instead of from top to bottom.
Is there secretly a way to view in Date Added but have the next track be the next track on that album? Besides dragging the tracks into iTunes from the Finder I mean.
If anyone has a way to do this, it would seriously improve my life and I would be infinitely grateful.
I know you can use iTunes dj to "play song next" or whatever but I don't like iTunes DJ for the fact that you don't have 100% control over what songs are playing if you want to pinpoint certain songs, etc..
Is there any way that I can line up a song to play after the current song without interrupting the current song and immediately playing the song I want next?
I cannot play a song on itunes by double clicking the song. I can only play a song by fast forwarding or fast backing from the original song played to the next song I want to play. I can then hit play and the song will play. what is my problem other than general ineptitude?

I have looked at a few Apple tech notes about this topic, but all seem to be of versions much older than that currently available.Â
Alphabetical orde is not the problem and one suggestion to use a Song command to set tracks in the play order, doesn't work since Song command.Â
With the latest versions of iTunes my music albums don't seem to play in order of track number anymore. Is there a way to set or establish play order?

All my music was stored on a Dell laptop and was fine - I had no problems with changing and editing the information. I recently bought a MacBook Pro and shifted all the music files from the old machine onto the new one (a lengthy and frustrating process) and since then, I've had a lot of hassle in terms of amending and organising my iTunes collection. A lot of the music I've purchased from the iTunes store has reverted back to its original state, no matter how many times I've changed it.Â
For example:Â
Lana Del Rey's Born to Die (Deluxe Version). I've removed the "Deluxe Version" from the title but I quit iTunes or sync it with my iPod, it automatically adds it back. I've changed the information in the song info, I've even changed it in the sort info just to be sure, but it always changes back.Â
The same with the Anthems Electronic 80s compilation. I want to call it Ministry of Sound: Electronic 80s and remove it from Various Artists (by deleting the album artist from the information). But after iTunes is quit or its been synced, the same thing happens. It appears as two albums on my iPod - a handful of tracks appear under the old title while the bulk of them appear under the new one.Â
It's happening across loads of albums, all ones I've downloaded (the stuff ripped from CDs seems to be okay). I tried typing in my info to see if that would work, but it didn't, it said this computer is already authorized (which I already knew, because every other song on my iTunes plays, including all the other songs on this particular album). Why does ITunes sometimes not play the full song? Some songs will only play until the last 20-30 seconds but only in Itunes. They play fine and complete in the finder.

I recently purchased an album and one of the songs plays for only 4 seconds before switching to another song. The song is supposed to be much longer. I tried deleting it and redownloading, but the song is available with an "album only" purchase so I cannot redownload. I have restored the song to my library but it still only plays for 4 seconds.

For some reason, my iTunes only plays podcasts individually. Older versions would just play all the episodes you have in order but now I have to manually play each one.

The play/pause button will change to the pause symbol but nothing else will happen. The ticker-thing at the top which tells you what is playing will say that, that song is on but the timer just stays at 0:00.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased an entire album on iTMS, on my Mac(Lion), and all but one track will play on iTunes, and iPhone4(iOS 5.1). I've additionally downloaded the purchased album on another Mac(Snow Leopard), and all tracks play, except the one track in question. When I go to play this song, it prompts me to 'authorize' the track to be played. I put in the correct info, and it does NOT play. This happens on each device. There were no iterruptions in any of the downloads of the tracks.Â

This has been happening to me for a while now. Sometimes when I drag music files into iTunes, only some of the songs will actually work. The ones that don't will play the first few seconds and then skip to the next song. I know that these files are NOT corrupted because if I keep deleting it from iTunes and reading it, I will eventually get the whole song to play. It's super annoying and I hate having to manually upload every single track multiple times. When I sync my iPhone to my computer, the same songs will only play a few seconds!
