I have a 3 disc set that I just imported. However disc 1 and disc 2 both import as disc 1 of 3. This is a live album so it makes a difference. Is there a way I can change the disc number?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to understand how itunes imports files and where it puts them. Does itunes duplicate existing files when your first install it?
In other words if I have some songs and videos in my computer and I install itunes, I know it will search for files during the installation and add them to the itunes library so, here is where my question comes, does itunes copies the files it finds to the itunes library and leave the exiting files in its original location or it moves them to a new location?
I'm just trying to understand how itunes imports and stores files and where it puts them.
itunes 10 imports cd tracks in alphabetical order only.What setting can I change so that it will import cd tracks in the same order as on the cd?I have this issue on only 1 of my 2 macbook pro computers, so I'm guessing it is a setting issue--but I don't know where to find it.

I have just tried to import only I few photos from the camera Roll, and it imported as it should, but when I chose to delete the photos from the camera roll it deleted all the photos...

Last year I could add pdf documents together in Preview to make a compilation that was much easier to print in booklet form as it avoided blank pages. Some time this year the behaviour changed, and now when I drag one open pdf onto the window of another, although on screen they look as if they are now one, even if I highlight each page in the sidebar when I press Print only the first one prints, which is a retrograde step IMO.
Is there a way to get the old behaviour back? This was a new feature in Snow Leopard and has been immensely useful to me, significantly increasing my productivity. It also used to be able to save the three pdfs as one file, but this too is no longer possible.
Is there a setting I can change in order to allow pdf import again? I can't even import files that last year I successfully imported to make new combined files, so I know it is not the pdf settings on the pdf file, it is definitely something that changed in preview itself in Snow Leopard in early 2012.
I haven't noticed this when using a USB mouse, but when I use my trackpad recently, and click on a non-active window, it focuses on the window I clicked on and then immediately "minimizes" it into the dock.

Mac Intel with Snow Leopard connected with fire wire to an external G-Drive.
Normally this has not been a problem. However I now have 2 external G-Drives daisy chained to each other with one firewire going to the mac.
Everything works normally accept when the mac goes to sleep it thinks the external drives were disconnected when they are not.

every time i have an update this will promt out, but the update still cary one sucesslly. do i need to do some thing with it our still ignore it? or do what it says? How to? I have a tons of photos already on OneDrive and would like to so my PhotoSteam and also when I import photos or use iPhoto that it uses the OneDrive Photo folder/directory. Is this possible?
As a new OSX users I am not sure how to do this, in Windows I would have just changed the directory of the Picture library but cannot see a way to do this on OSX.

I accidentally deleted the applications folder under my user directory. I made a duplicate from the hard drive directory and put it under user, but when I add new applications to one, it does not show up in the other like it used to. I guess I had a wrong idea of what duplicate does.

When I zoom in on a website containing specific types of buttons, the buttons appear to become full of question marks or something, instead of the button. As far as I can tell, the types of buttons that do this are ones like "Login" buttons, and others.Since I don't know how exaclty to word the description of the buttons, here are examples of them:

My external hard drive has been repeatedly ejected improperly and now it is not displaying on my computer, not even in disk utility. How do I re-mount this external hard drive? In the past when this has happened, all I had to do was go to Disk Utility or use DiskWarrior to fix the issue but now it won't even show up in either of these apps.

View 3 Replies View RelatediTunes won't list my tracks chronologically once they get past 9. I have a lecture series that has 30 tracks in it and when I number them from 1-30 as soon as iTunes sees another 1, like at the beginning of all the numbers from 10-19, it puts them after the number 1, and then moves onto the number 2. It's a real drag and other than alphabetizing the first 9 numbers I'm at a loss of what to do. Is there somewhere in preferences I can have it recognize two-digit numbers properly?

Only the number keys on my keyboard are malfunctioning besides the number 0. For example when I press 1 it appears as q1. When I press 2 it appears as w2.
I am not sure if I accidentally pressed something on my keyboard that has changed the functioning of my number keys. I've tried fidgeting with the keyboard settings in System Preferences and holding down the f6 key but nothing has worked.

iTunes has been unable to find the track names for a number of CD's I've recently tried to import. Some of them are on the iTunes store too. Each time I try it says "No error". Once it said "this user is not authorised for online use" but that stopped when I quit iTunes and restarted. Should I delete the app then reinstall?

I listen to something on my ipod. I plug the ipod into my computer. In itunes, on the ipod, I can see the track I listed to has number of plays 1. That track in the library on the computer fails to get any plays next to it. Why? Why does this stuff never really work properly? I'm sure it used to work, but I could be wrong. It's not working now. Plays on/from the ipod don't get registered on the computer. This means I don't know which tracks I've listed to and which I haven't.
I do not have my mac book pro with me right now? I need the serial number to contact apple customer care. Is there any way I can get that number? Can I use iTunes for searching it?

Years ago I purchased a number of songs in my library using a corporate email address that is no longer valid and I do not remember the password. My reason for asking is that 4 months ago my sisters G5 17" logic board supposedly got replaced with a new or refurbished logic board but it seems by the workmanship of the board something fishy is going on.
