May 28, 2012Is there perhaps a setting to tweak that would prevent iTunes from listing videos (like music videos some albums include) alongside the music library? I usually uncheck them so they don't play after an album runs through but my OCD would much prefer they not even be listed in the same list. I don't want to remove them from my entire iTunes library but would prefer them only being visible within the movies tab.Â

May 16, 2012I have the new 1080p Apple TV and have converted videos using Hand Brake (with the old Apple TV preset). My problem is that when I drag these videos into my iTunes library on my Mac, they don't show up in the Movies or TV Shows sections, but then when I go to Computers -> Movies -> Unknown Genre on the Apple TV, the videos show up there. If I go back to iTunes on my Mac and go to Movies, that movie isn't showing up even if I turn on the Column Browser and look at the All section. Is it possible that I'm making videos that are compatible with the Apple TV but not iTunes? I don't get any error messages or any indication that the file got added to the library. The video in question is an M4V, with "H.264, AAC, AC3" listed under codecs in Finder's Get Info, 1280x720, 2,083 total bit rate. I'm on Lion and have everything up to date.

I have moved ALL my iTunes content (music, videos etc) to the Shared Music folder on my new WD MyBook World Edition 2 (just in case that's relevant info) and everytime my Mac attempts to load iTunes I have to repeatedly direct it to the library.xml file in the Shared Music folder.Surely there's a proper solution for this? Anyone else out there had this experience and has figured it out.I've noticed that it does this only the first time I open iTunes up, any subsequent bootup within a session is fine, but any restart of my Macbook Pro and I have to repeat this.

Jan 30, 2009I have about 20 hours of low res digicam videos sitting in iphoto. When I launch Imovie, it loads all 20 hours without asking then proceeds to quit unexpectedly if I try to do anything. Is there a way to prevent iphoto from loading all of them without deleting the videos from my iPhoto library? I have about a 30 minute video I would like to edit I'm frustrated.How about removing all those clips except the ones I care about? Can I do that? (after waiting 20-30 minutes for them to load)

Sep 7, 2010I just updated my iTunes but it appears it deleted my library. This sucks because I have spent HOURS upon HOURS sorting it, renaming crooked song titles, finding covers and all that stuff. I used time machine to back up my computer like 5 days ago, but I can't figure out how to use it. I wish I could just select that given day (when I made my last backup) and make it turn everything back to what it was back then.How do I do this exactly? I don't care at all if I have to go back to the old iTunes (obviously they will fix this eventually!) - I just want it to look like it did a few days ago.

When I go into 'Computer' in Windows, I can see my Macintosh HD drive and most of its contents, some pics and other folders etc are all viewable and draggable into Windows. What im thinking now is, can I setup iTunes or even Media Player to see my iTunes library on the Mac side without actually copying it to Windows?

Nov 22, 2010I transferred all my itunes library to an external hard drive.I had all my songs in itunes and then went to "preferences" and set itunes to look on my external hard drive for my itunes. Then I went to "library" and then "consolidate", and it moved all my library over to my external. I can verify that my songs are all there on my externalHowever, now, itunes won't play any songs of mine. I double click on the song in itunes and it just wont play. There's no error message, there's no exclamation point, it just won't play. Any idea what is goign on? Preferences still shows that my library is directing to the external

May 12, 2012I have been loading my DVD collection onto my Time Capsule HD and watching them streaming through my ATV. However, I was going to try to organize the files better and rename the titles so the movie title came up as more recognizable then how it gets written into iTunes. When I try to rename the title by right clicking the movie then left clicking "get info", I type in the movie name that I want and I then get the dreaded rainbow wheel. I right click my iTunes on the dock and its saying 'application not responding" so I go ahead and "force quit". Of course, when I do this nothing is saved because it has not finished with the 'OK". I tried going to rename them on the TC and then the movies would not play any more. When I have waited for iTunes to finish and ok the name change I could no longer see the film that way either. It would come up with the player and would show the counter like it really is playing but no video or audio. Â
I really want to put the real names on the movies with what they are, its a little annoying to look at, for instance...the movie American Pie is titled "AMPIEDC_2_Title_1...The movie America's Sweethearts is titled DVD_VIDEO_Title_1. Â
This is what shows up in iTunes and subsequently on my ATV or home sharing anything which is quite annoying and unless you know that is how the DVD loaded itself you would not really know what the title of the movie is. Â

I don't want the itunes store. I want itunes to find and recognize my own movies folder. I want to import into itunes video content that's already on my imac, so that I can transfer it to the iphone. I tried pressing the apple key + O to add media to the Library.
