I purchased a deluxe album on the iTunes Store that contains two music videos. I want iTunes to skip said videos when I won't be watching them. Is there an easy way to accomplish this?
View 2 RepliesiTunes skips songs when I try to listen to a shared library from my Mac Pro, on my MacBook Pro.
This always happens when trying to "fast-forward" through a song (it'll skip to the next song).
I'm assuming that this is some kind of networking issue, because if I let the song play long enough, for what I perceive as enough time to transfer the song entirely from one computer to the other, it won't skip to the next song when fast-forwarding.
The two computers are in adjacent rooms, connected wirelessly via an AEBS on 802.11N (g compatibility mode).
iTunes is automatically putting my music videos inside of the movies library and I would prefer to have it in my music library. I've tried a few things with no luck. Does anyone know how to do this?

I've found since updating to iTunes 10.1 that my playlists occasionally skip to the next track during playback. This has never happened before. I haven't tried to replicate it elsewhere, but did try a local reinstall. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was playing music on iTunes and one of the songs I was listening to just skipped through - iTunes started skipping, 30 seconds or so at a time, through to the next song. It started to happen around halfway through the song, although exactly where is unclear. Repeatedly pushing the cursor back to where the song was before the skipping starts seems to help, in that the songs only starts skipping again a bit later. The one thing that's changed recently is that I turned on Genius.
In fact, when I turned Genius off, the issue seemed to be fixed, until it happened again. I managed to make it through most of the song, though, but the next few songs all started skipping through right from the beginning. It's now happening with every single song I try playing. I hope Genius didn't actually damage the MP3s; I have no idea what it does. All I know is that my iTunes is officially unusable. Quitting the program and restarting did nothing.
I cannot add mp4 or m4v videos to my iTunes library. ITunes is version 10.6.3 running on an iMac 11,3 with OS X 10.7.4.

Whenever I log on to Youtube or ABC for example to watch TV Shows, the audio is fine but the video seems to play every 3 frames or so. Is there a reason why this is? I have broadband internet and other parts of web-surfing go smoothly. Is my laptop too outdated to play online video?

Is there perhaps a setting to tweak that would prevent iTunes from listing videos (like music videos some albums include) alongside the music library? I usually uncheck them so they don't play after an album runs through but my OCD would much prefer they not even be listed in the same list. I don't want to remove them from my entire iTunes library but would prefer them only being visible within the movies tab.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the new 1080p Apple TV and have converted videos using Hand Brake (with the old Apple TV preset). My problem is that when I drag these videos into my iTunes library on my Mac, they don't show up in the Movies or TV Shows sections, but then when I go to Computers -> Movies -> Unknown Genre on the Apple TV, the videos show up there. If I go back to iTunes on my Mac and go to Movies, that movie isn't showing up even if I turn on the Column Browser and look at the All section. Is it possible that I'm making videos that are compatible with the Apple TV but not iTunes? I don't get any error messages or any indication that the file got added to the library. The video in question is an M4V, with "H.264, AAC, AC3" listed under codecs in Finder's Get Info, 1280x720, 2,083 total bit rate. I'm on Lion and have everything up to date.

any song i listen to in itunes skips horribly! also, the audio from any movie file i play in either quicktime or VLC has the same problem.
i have updated all three programs to the current version.
i tried disabling my login items as recommended by some advice i found by googling, but this didn't work either.
i also made a new admin account to see if the problem would still occur on a fresh account and it did.
i don't know what else to do. what could be causing this problem?
might it be hardware related? i don't know how to check for that.
I just purchased two songs on iTunes (v.10.6), and when I play them they play normally, then about halfway through they skip to the next song all of the sudden.

Songs in my iTunes playlist skip..... I can't figure out why and there is no pattern. Some play a few minutes or seconds and either stop or skip. All my devices now skip as well iPhone and iPod.Â
View 1 Replies View Relatedusing MacBook Pro os x mavericks / I have had this issue a few times now, I have purchased new CDs and came home to import them to my iTunes library straight away. They import perfectly fine but as soon as they're finished importing to library, I go play the album and a few of the songs skip or jump (like when you play a scratched cd in a CD player) though the cds are not scratched.
I am using the external USB super drive to import as the MacBook has no cd slot built in, I thought maybe I was bumping or moving the super drive while the disk was importing and this may be effecting songs being imported properly so I deleted the albums and imported again making sure the external super drive was not moved but there is still 1 or 2 songs playing up.Â

I have about 20 hours of low res digicam videos sitting in iphoto. When I launch Imovie, it loads all 20 hours without asking then proceeds to quit unexpectedly if I try to do anything. Is there a way to prevent iphoto from loading all of them without deleting the videos from my iPhoto library? I have about a 30 minute video I would like to edit I'm frustrated.How about removing all those clips except the ones I care about? Can I do that? (after waiting 20-30 minutes for them to load)

I have moved ALL my iTunes content (music, videos etc) to the Shared Music folder on my new WD MyBook World Edition 2 (just in case that's relevant info) and everytime my Mac attempts to load iTunes I have to repeatedly direct it to the library.xml file in the Shared Music folder.Surely there's a proper solution for this? Anyone else out there had this experience and has figured it out.I've noticed that it does this only the first time I open iTunes up, any subsequent bootup within a session is fine, but any restart of my Macbook Pro and I have to repeat this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI left my MBA over at my girlfriends house the past couple days so she could use it for some miscellaneous stuff. Well after renting a movie on Itunes last night, it started out fine and dandy but then started freezing and skipping. I tried most everything I could think of to no avail.
The movies will play fine for about 10 to 15 minutes at max and then will continue to start freezing and skipping again, everything else also runs pretty slow in general. I'm not sure if there is a heat problem as the AC at her place is on the crapper and she uses it mostly on her bed, though it looks like the CPU temp never really gets much hotter than 160F.
Im thinking about just doing a clean sweep and reinstalling OS X, I never know what she does sometimes and you never know if there is a hidden problem. Any other ideas? I'm very new to Macs in general and am not sure what the common problems are with MBAs
When playing podcasts on my iPhones, the audio skips and scratches and sometimes freezes.  It does NOT do this with audiobooks downloaded from Autible.com or music from the iTunes store or ripped from CDs. I am having this problem on multiple iPhones. The 3GS is over two years old and the 4S is brand new. The software and firmware for both devices is up to date. For these reasons, I don't think it is related to the iPhones.  It started very recently (June 2012). It occurs on the headphone jack and on music systems that connect through the dock. It occurs when using the stock music player application. I am loading the audio files via stock iTunes, which is up to date. I wonder if it is realated to the last iTunes update.

my problem is that tv shows and movies downloaded from the iTunes store skips frames (stutters, pauses call it what you will) every 5 or 10 seconds while playing. The sound continues but the video stutters. The problem appears after watching for about 5 minutes, its fine until then, sometimes it gets a bit better but it never goes away.The movies are not HD, they're standard definition files.Â
I've tried many different movies and tv shows purchased from the iTunes store and its always the same.It happens in full screen and half size. It happens when i open the files in quicktime player as well. I have no other applications running while the problem happens. It does NOT happen when I put the files onto my girlfriend's iPad, they playback no problem.Â
This problem did not happen when I first purchased the laptop, it has only appeared in recent months. At first I thought it was a RAM issue as I only had 2gb of RAM so I upgraded to 8gb and while my computer is much faster in general the problem has not gone away at all, it's exactly the same. Then I thought it was because my hard drive was full, (which it was) so I cleared some space and now have 75gb free on a 160gb drive. Still skipping frames. It does not happen when I play video files not purchased from iTunes store in quicktime.Â

How do I get itunes to import video? I'm on itunes 9.2. When I click on Library/Movies in the upper left, I'm taken to a page that wants to connect me to the itunes store. I don't want the itunes store. I want itunes to find and recognize my own movies folder. I want to import into itunes video content that's already on my imac, so that I can transfer it to the iphone. I tried pressing the apple key + O to add media to the Library.

So I replaced iTunes 9 last night, only to find that it wouldn't accept my iTunes library. I managed to reload the songs, but I have lost all my playlists, star ratings, play counts, etc. Its all gone.
My iTunes library has apparently filled my entire iMac (according to the computer I have over 97 days' worth of music). I would like to know 1) how to properly save my iTunes library to an external hard drive and 2) how to use iTunes so that it uses the library on the external drive.

My sister uploaded videos on youtube of her wedding/holidays etc and I have them on my iTunes (there are about 20 of them!) but in the movie library it all looks a mess! View 9 Replies View RelatedSo my cousin wrote up a 10-page paper and he included some pictures and stuff.
He needs to add a title page and it has to have a header of '1', but for some reason I can't figure this out and neither can he. When he presses ENTER/RETURN to open up a free page at the top, it moves the texts down but not the pictures.
So what I'm trying to do now is make a blank document for the title page and put the page count there and just print that off, but NOW I need to know how to start the page count at 2, instead of 1, on the actual body of the essay.
(Btw, I have tried to do just about everything. When I copied the entire doc to paste it after the title page on a new document, it didn't even copy the pictures.)
