Is there a way to recover old emails? I moved a few folders around on the hard disk and now my emails have reverted to Factory settings and all my old emails and address book have vanished. I am still running on 10.4.11 and Apple can not help me. how to recover my lost emails and/or addresses?

I started my Mac mail application today (set to connect to my gmail accounts through IMAP), and all my mail that was in my inbox is GONE. I don't know if my gmail accounts were hacked or if their implementation of "Priority Inbox" just trashed all my messages older than 35 days. I've changed my password and disabled Priority Inbox. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can recover my e-mails?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a very important email which i wish to recover.I changed my account in mail client, by deleting my exsisting pop account and adding a new imap account.My new imap account now has only messages from 5 days old. The email which i would like to recover is upto a few months old, I beginning to panic as I feel i may have done something i shouldn't of, and that particular is email very valuable.Is there a way to get it back? Yes i do have back ups, but my external hard drive decided to blow up on me at the worst time.I have also checked my server for that account and they have told me my pop account would have deleted emails once downloaded. I am with bluehost if that means anything.

My company E-mail account was closed today and I had anticipated the messages would be stored by Apple mail for offline viewing. It was an IMAP account with the preferences set to so that the mail was never deleted and all messages were to be kept. However, all the mail has disappeared with no action from me. Is there anything I can do to recover this information? I did not "back up" these messages as I thought they would be left in the mail program for viewing and that I could later archive them.

All emails from my iCloud account (previously .mac and then .me) inbox older than one week just disappeared. They had been in my inbox for years. Why did this happen now and are they recoverable? I have Time Machine backups on my iMac. Will restoring my system or a particular folder recover the lost emails or were they only on the server?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSome weeks ago the screen on my iMac started to go blank. The only way to recover was to re-boot. The problem got worse until the machine became un-usable. I tried everything I knew, including switching off and unplugging to reset the pram as suggested, but eventually took it to the Apple Store where the 'expert' reset the pram the old way holding down the cmd/opt/p/r keys on startup. Problem solved (why do Apple give bad advice to clear the pram?).
Something had corrupted the software that drives the screen. The only program that I could think might have done that was ScreenRecycler which I have now stopped using. However, the problem has started to re-appear, the only new program I have used is Audirvana which being a music program should not affect the screen.

Ive lost Hd space after removing my windows partition (60gb). I can't reinstall another partition as I've only 23gb left... when removing the original partition it came up with an error (can't remember exactly..but it failed to verify?Â
I tried using disk utility to open up the disk size, by streching the corner mark?? and verify it, as per a previous recommended remedy ..it failsÂ
I have re opened osx in R mode and used disk utility it still fails to repair or verify lost space? I have no back up drive as it recently failed...tsk and don't want to lose anything else??Â

My niece is 9 years old. Her mom, my sister, has allowed her to have an email account and she uses it!
I do not want to insult family, but do not want to receive her mass/forwarded "emails".
We have just purchased a Macbook and have had no problems setting up the email accounts and transferring data etc. the only thing we can't figure out is how to get the old emails over into Mail on the new Macbook.

I had to replace my hard drive on my G5. I am running OS X 10.4.11. I am now receiving mail but can't send it. I am using the proper outgoing mail info. When I tried to send an email I got the message it couldn't be sent using the POP info. Below that is a message that says to send the message using smtp.mac.com.myname. Incidentally do I have to have the .mac account in Mail?

My wife and I have a few email address (BT Internet) that we have access too from our Imac, Iphone 4 and Iphone 4s.
The problem we seem to have is that all our emails keep dissapearing when we go into them. Luckily, old habits die hard and we have been able to get the all on our laptop, but this defeats the object. I have had a look at all our settings to see what the issue is but am flumuxed by it all. The Imac seems to keep dropping the password and wants us to redo the password for these accounts, but sometimes, it wont accept it.Â

my mail is not showing new emails, it first stopped showing the number of emails, then new emails stopped coming in. iPad works fine no trouble with mail there. used the connection doctor and all good with the servers. how i can get it working again.

It seems to be working again now, but there are 5 or so emails that just will not come through to my Mac inbox even though I can see them in the inbox on my phone...important work emails....concerned this may happen again and something will slip through the net.Â

I can no longer receive my emails from the icloud to my mac even though it has been doing it fine since I moved to the icloud a number of weeks now. I only get my mail if I log into icloud or I get it on my phone, it is not synching to my iMac.

Only thing I'm scared are my emails. Is there a way for my to save everything on an external drive, restore my system (which I don't know how to do) and once everything is back in order, I could simply import my emails and it would be as if nothing happened (well, for my emails at least)?Â
