IMac :: Pantone Colors Not Displaying Correctly
Nov 7, 2010I put in some CMYK values to create a navy color in Illustrator:
C: 100
M: 70
Y: 0
K: 40
I got the breakup from a pantone process guide booklet, but the color onscreen looks nothing like the printed swatch (see attached screenshot).
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a known problem with an iMac bought early 2008?

Sep 10, 2010This is sort of a double post, but since this problem is way down in the original thread and pretty much a different problem (with no replies) I figured it might be worth a new post.
So...
On this 1.25ghz Tiger emac we picked up, the OS loads, and everything seems to work for a minute of so, but then the mouse stops working.
Actually the pointer still works, but I can't click anything, almost like the desktop is frozen. This does have a swollen capacitor, so I'm, not sure if that's the problem or if I just need to reload to OS.
PowerPC :: IBook Screen Moves With Mouse - OS 5.2?
May 17, 2008I have a G4 iBook with a 1.07 MHz CPU, 1GB RAM, 60GB HD running Leopard OS X 5.2.
It has been running like a charm, and suddenly, the screen image starts moveing with the mouse - the desktop, all open windows, websites, everything.
You can drag it to one side or the other, and still open and close applications, use them, use the web, send and received emails - everything, but the screen moves around with the mouse, and it is driving me crazy!
I have tried resetting all the settings - Power, Display, Appearance, etc.
I have reinstalled OS X 5.2
I have run Disk Warrior and got some errors:
"User differs on "Applications/ical.app/Contents/MacOS, should be 0, user is 502", and then several similar error messages regarding "Resources", always with "should be 0, user is 502"
In Macintosh HD/Users/oBookg4/Library/Preferences/ , Disk Warrior detected that "the Property List data is damaged and cannot be repaired"
"XML parser error:
Unexpected character at line 1"

Have checked Disk Warrior and restarted, but it keeps doing this!

Aug 26, 2008I just got my iMac, and I have a problem with mighty mouse. Sometimes, when I move the mouse just a little, the pointer will "jump" to one side of the screen... it's very frustrating.
Is it due because my mousepad has different colours on it ?
That's my only explanation. Maybe the mousepad different colours cause reflection on the pointer that make it jump all over the screen...
MacBook Pro :: Mouse On Randomly Moves From Center Of Screen To Bottom?
Sep 29, 2009So I love my 1 1/2 month old 13inch MBP.
The thing is that recently at random times throughout my day when I'm, using my Mac...my finger will be on the glass trackpad and i'll be doing something like say surfing the web or using w/e application...Well, randomly the mouse on the screen will disappear from its current location, say for example on Firefox's toolbar, immediately to the bottom of the screen. It's never the top of the screen, or the sides since it normally just causes the dock to rise up...
I'm really concerned to see what's going on here. I rarely had this problem with my old Whitebook, though admittedely did happen a few times.
Perhaps a water spill/damage? Though consider to have been very careful with my new Mac. I'm sure the glass trackpad on these new Macbook Pro's has water damage sensors right? Anyway I can see it/observe it myself.
I used to love taking apart my old whitebook but these new MBP's seem impossible; that or i'm just too scared since I do love how the machine was built.

Apr 6, 2010I recently embarked on a quest to reorganize my font libraries and I think I messed something up! Capital A's with boxes around them show up in many of my emails (using Mail) instead of text, and the emails from my iPhone Notes don't load at all. I don't understand this because the MarkerFelt.ttc font is in the HardDrive-->Library-->Fonts folder.
Basically, I had organized my fonts within the HD-->Library-->Fonts and the Username-->Library-->Fonts folders with Font Agent Pro and moved them to a separate location so that I could manage them more directly. Everything was fine at first and then things started looking wacky in Mail. I moved everything back to its original font folders and it's still displaying incorrectly. I've attached screen shots of what I'm talking about so it makes more sense. I would really appreciate any advice on how to get things back to normal.
OS X :: Firefox Not Displaying Pages Correctly
Oct 23, 2007I'm new to Mac (as of Oct. 3rd), but I'm a long-time user of Firefox. I notice that when I have FF running for long periods of time, and I go to, for example, xbox.com to check out my friends list on the computer, often times the page shows up as plain text, no graphics or images or anything. Then I come here to create a post, and all of the buttons and formatting tools appear as plain text as well, instead of the images/buttons. I don't regularly visit a wide variety of web-sites, but the one I mentioned earlier seems to consistently trigger it. Usually the only way I can get pages to display correctly again (no matter where I try to go) is to completely quit Firefox and reopen it. I included a screen shot so you can see what it's coming up as, vs what it's supposed to look like. I've never had this problem with any websites as long as I've been using Firefox until just recently. [URL]

Mar 7, 2009I'm having a bit of a problem with terminal.
When I open the app or open a new window all that is displayed is a bit of the top menu bar - just enough to diplay the red close button. I can't see any of the other buttons and nor can I resize it to actually see th text in the terminal window.
This behaviour seems to be resticted to just one account - I logged in to another account to check.
I've tried repairing permissions and removed com.apple.Terminal.plist from the library/preferences folder I my home directory.
OS X V10.7 Lion :: Why Isn't Hangul Displaying Correctly
Apr 26, 2012So I have a number of files and folders with korean names. The names show up perfectly on Finder but it's not showing up properly when viewing the same files on other OSes (i.e, Windows or Android).E.g. A folder named ¹„" would look fine on my Macs but show up as on Windows and my Android phone. Plucking the string into Google Translate also results in the incorrect format. It's incredibly frustrating when transferring files. This happens irrespective of which Korean input I use.

May 3, 2012I have this problem where I get an email that has wonderful pictures (html, css, or somthing) on my iphone and ipad they display correctly. On Mail in OSX on my iMac they are just a bunch of text and hyperlinks. A good example of this is the promotional emails from Nik Software.

Applications :: Safari Not Displaying Pages Correctly?
Jan 9, 2011My safari browser on my iMac hasn't been displaying pages right since yesterday and I cannot figure out whats going on.
I've reseted Safari (cleared cookies, cache) and also tried turning my internet on and off and restarted my mac several times. I've even tried repairing permissions in disk utility.
Firefox and Chrome seem to be working perfectly but Safari will not format the pages the right way, all i mainly get is text unless a picture is linked to another page.
I have the latest version of Safari and am running Snow Leopard 10.6.6

May 10, 2012I have an iMac (Intel mid 2011) 21.5", Facebook used to work OK. After updating Safari to Ver. 5.1.7. (6534.57.2), Facebook is not displaying correctly, I get a white unformated screen and a partial display of the information shows on the left side of screen (10%). I'm using OSX Ver. 10.6.8.. Facebook works OK on my iPhone and others PCs.

Apr 23, 2012I just got a used iMac (running 10.5.8) with the metal keyboard and mouse. I unpacked the box, plugged in the computer, hooked up the keyboard and mouse.The computer screen came up. I can move around a little via the keyboard's arrow keys but the cursor will not move via the mouse. I got it to move a little by swiping my thumb across the back but that is it. I switched my older, working, keyboard and mouse to the newer machine and it didn't work there. I switched the newer metal keyboard and mouse my older iMac and they worked just fine. What could be going on with the new (but used) computer? I have tried every port for the mouse, keyboard as well as every back port but nothing moves the cursor.Â

Dec 8, 2014On restart the mouse moves but does not click. I thought it was the mouse and bought new one. After 24 hours same issue with the new mouse. Bought a new Apple Mouse yesterday and this morning same issue again. Usually after a wait the clicking becomes available.

Every time I move my mouse quickly left or right (i.e. if I am just moving it out of the way of my keyboard), the action causes the screen to close down so that I have to re-enter my password to get back to the pages I had open. It doesn't close down the computer, but puts it in sleep mode.
