I have a problem with my camera on my 2.66GHz iMac.I was in Sofia (Bulgaria) for three days.I came back and sow that my camera wasn't working and this message appears in photo booth and skype: There is no connected camera .Is this a hardware problem,or a software one and how can I fix it?

My Apple MacBook Air (OS X 10.9.3) is saying 'there is no connected camera' in both Photo Booth and FaceTime despite having a built-in integrated camera. The camera worked until I updated my laptop software I think. I have tried both the troubleshooting suggestions as given on the site and I have reset the SMC.

I have an iMac OS X 10.4.11. and my version of Photo Booth does not have a Camera Tab for me to connect an additional camera, it only allows me to use it's own built in camera. I'm an illustrator, and I have enough need for photos of myself and various objects that I have a Nikon digital camera permanently mounted on a tripod in my studio. Is it possible to use Photo Booth as a viewfinder, so that I can see the camera's-eye-view of whatever I'm shooting? I know that literally, it can be done, because I currently use Photo Booth to shoot micro photos from a Celestron USB digital microscope. So why not input from a Nikon? Can it be done? If so, how?

I recently wiped my mac and photo booth no longer works. The application comes up but the loading symbol just goes round and round for hours and nothing happens, even the little green light doesn't come on. At the top of the mac screen in photo booth>camera section it says 'no camera available' but when i open my FaceTime the light comes on and camera works. How can i fix my photo booth??

There are no other applications running. I've restarted the computer, repaired permissions, reset the PRAM, and re-installed Photo Booth from the original disk. I'm trying to get a Macbook's iSight working. The Macbook is running Leopard, currently. When I go to open Photo Booth, I get the camera icon with a slash through it - indicating the camera isn't connected/available. The same problem happens with other applications. I don't believe it is listed in System Profiler, though if it was listed as something other than "iSight" I could have missed it.
I tried a few applications that are supposed to kick start it, reset the P Ram, reset the SMC, etc to no avail.
Why is the camera struck through with a white line and not working on my Photo Booth window.

Photo Booth works fine with the first couple pages of effects but once I choose another page of effects (towards the end usually) Photo Booth freezes. I already repaired permissions and I have restarted my computer more than once (for other reasons) since this has started happening. I forget if this started happening before I installed Snow Leopard or after.

I got my Macbook for christmas, it was brand new and one day the backdrops stopped working for some reason. I will use a back drop and get out the frame as it tells you to do and it will say background detected straight away. They when I step back into the frame it will not detect me? It just has the backdrop of what have chosen and no me? I have had a plain background behind me, no mirrors and relective stuff around me, I just want to know how I can get the backdrops back to normal.

I have Skypes working on my G-5 and have added Macam and a Logic Tech Chat camera. The camera works well on my screen but is not seen by others when I contact them. I just get the small black screen in the Skypes window. Is ther another piece of software I need other than Macam for Skypes connection or.I did get a message on screen that Skypes had connected to my camera.

Photo booth kept saying I could't open it because of the version I was in so I stumbled upon this fix. Drag photo booth off of your dock and you'll see the puff of smoke. Next, go to the macintosh HD and click applications. Then just drag photo booth from the list and put it onto your dock and it should work. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it worked for me.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Dad has a 2006 17" iMac that is fully updated and it does have a camera built in as it should. My Dad also has a cannon all in one printer scanner copy machine hooked up to the computer. As of this moment, when I hit an application like Photo Booth or something else that uses the camera, the program says that no camera is connected.
I did a little detective work and found where someone hooked up an all in one HP device and the scanner took over the "port" that the iSight camera was supposed to be on. I don't know if this is the problem or not but it was all I could come up with. I am pretty Novice when it comes to computers and don't know how to tell what is on any port or how many ports their even are for that matter.

View 15 Replies View RelatedMy 2 week old, new mac pro has brought me much joy, I love it. However my son and my daughter, would very much like to play with the photo booth. Apples fire wire isight, is no longer produced and sells for big bucks in the used hardware arena.
Are their any of you out their that have any 3rd party webcams, that work well with photo booth? I know that their are plenty of plug and play usb webcams, that will work with the likes of ichat. But from what I have read is that photo booth is some what picky with usb web cams. Slow and unresponsive.
