suddenly, I cannot open safari either from the apps folder or the toolbar. No response whatso ever. Been working ok until this morning. can't even get to the prefs to work anything out..

I'm not sure what hapenned, I must have done something, but one day my address bar decided it wanted to play hide and seek and it won....the "show toolbar" option does nothing upon clicking it, neither does the "customize toolbar" option.

I have no idea what happened. it was working fine last week, and then the other day I tried to open up iMovie and i get "The operation could not be completed / An unexpected error occurred (error code -10810)" This happens every time i try to open anything in my applications folder. the programs on my dock open up fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSome weeks ago, I installed OS X Yosemite, as shown on my App Store, that was a "System Update available for my IMac 2009". Followed all the steps, normally and installed it as I did many other times ago (with the Maverick, Mountain Lion, OS X).Â
Just after the installation, I noticed that every single folder or program that depends on "Apple", stopped working.Â
Examples: Office package opens normally, so as Firefox. But, IPhoto, ITunes, Safari and App Store itself do not.
When trying to reinstall Yosemite or return to the one I had before, using App Store became impossible. Even the "Apple Icon" on the top left corner does not work. I click, it flashes, just IF it was ready to open, but nothing happens, seams that have something stopping the "loading process" of the software.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the past couple of days I cannot open any windows in Safari. When I start the program up, I get the toolbar only. Nothing I do lets me open up a window. I even have to force quit the application sometimes to get it to close. I have reinstalled the program, removed the preferences, run Disk Warrior and Disk Utility with no luck. As a result, I have to use Firefox to do my browsing.Has anyone had this problem? Is there a fix for this?

I have a new 21.5" iMac and have been playing around with everything. When I started two weeks ago I had an Apps folder with the Apps logo on the dock to the right of the dotted separation. All the applications are there lined up with the first application showing but for my consternation I cannot put the Applications in there folder like it was when I started out two weeks ago. This is the Snow Leopard OS.

I have a 2007 15" MacBook Pro that I'm trying to clean up to give to my wife, well I think I did a bad thing. As I was going through things to delete in the trash, I accidentally deleted the "All Documents Folder", now I can't get any of the apps to work. I haven't emptied the trash bin. So I thought maybe I could copy them back to my desktop, well that wasn't a good thing since there was like 12,000 files and it really slowed the laptop down. So I thought I would do a complete clean install using the original start up disk. Well following the instruction to restart the computer, after the restart I get a diagonal screen and can't read it because the picture is staggered. So I eject the install disc and restart the laptop and everything is fine, but still can't open anything, because it says app can't is in the trash.

I installed "Hunt Toolbar" a Torrent search add on for Safari. But I think it was ment only for Windows not Mac. Now every time I open Safari I get the yellow triangle with a ! in it and the message... Firstly, my apologies as this is a topic that I've seen posted several times. Unfortunately, I haven't actually found an answer/workaround after searching a few different forums sites. I've been using Camino as my primary web browser and have generally enjoyed it. However, my one real frustration is that every PDF I open has to download and be displayed in Preview rather than native within the browser (skimming lots of journal articles on PubMed becomes very tedious this way). As such, I was very excited to switch back to Safari when I saw that it can open PDF files in tabs. And this bring me to the whole point of my post: How do I open a folder of bookmarks (e.g. from the bookmarks bar) in a new set of tabs without getting rid of all my existing tabs? Camino and Firefox both offer this option and I find it really essential to my way of browsing the web. I don't want to open a new window just to view an entire set of bookmarks (the point is to keep them all open in one window) and I don't want to manually open each page in a new tab.

I accidentally dropped my "Applications Folder" off my Dock when I first got my Mac and it disappeared. When I put it back by dragging the applications folder onto the Dock, instead of assuming the Applications Folder logo, it took on the logo of the first application in my Applications Folder: the Address book. Now, my desktop permanantly has the picture of the Address Book instead of the picture of the Applications Folder.
How do I fix this? ive followed other thread advice with no luck. Is there a way to re-set the Dock? Where does the logo live and how do I get it back there?
My iMac (2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of Ram; 320 GB hard drive with 160 GB available) running OS 10.6.8 takes almost 10 minutes to boot up. Even opening a file folder can take almost a minute. I reset the PRam last week and that helped but now back to slow. I checked the Activity Monitor and I've got over 3 GB of ram free. Could my hard drive be dying? I have dual backup (external hard drive and Carbonite), so I'm not concerned about losing anything, but need this computer to work like it used too.

I have a 2011 iMac running Lion. I have a USB harddrive connected which stores digial versions of all my DVDs so that I can stream them to my AppleTV. Has no issues with it before now. A moment ago my Mac crashed and had to be restarted by holding down the button at the back (first time ever!!). When i turned the thing back on, the drive didn't mount so I went into disk utility and repaired the drive which resulted in it mounting. Â
