A week ago I've been watching a movie with my girlfriend, and the CD suddenly got stuck. Apr 2, 2010Not sure where to post this as it really applies to the Apple Online Store itself. On my iMac running 10.6.3 I can't check out on the Apple online store. I can add items to my cart (doesn't matter what it is: i've tried various items). But once I go to check out it asks me to login and when I do I get taken to a page that says "An error has occurred during your session. Please return to the Store Menu to continue shopping." No matter how many times I try to checkout, I'll get the same error.However, if I login to the Apple store from my Macbook Air running 10.5.8 (which recognizes me as the same account as the same items will show up in the cart) I can checkout fine with no problems.

It was purchased brand new. I used it for one hour yesterday, run the set up, install updates. thats all I have done with it. Today I awake to it presenting a loading bar of some sort under the Apple logo and Spinning wheel. I researched the bar, and found that it was a progress bar for a disk check, and since it doesnt complete (I let it do its thing) something must be wrong, However when i run disk utility, it can find now error in the disk. but my sound and video play pack does not work unless i restart the machine. this seems like an unessecary process. what are the possible causes?

May 11, 2012I have an IMac. When I am in mail and type a word incorrect I get an alert sound. I do not get the red dashed line. I have looked all over Preferences. What am I missing? This is annoying. If I do a manual spell check of a document then it still does not underline misspelled words. I tested it in Textedit as well. No red line under the words.

It intermittently picks up the signal and when it does finally connect, says the router is not connected to the internet - despite my laptop and iPhone being on the same desk and connecting.

IMac :: How Come A Recovery Disc Version Could Differ From Actually Installed
Dec 10, 2009I phoned up AppleCare and they are kind enough to mail me back two recovery discs free of charge (they are white instead of grey, and printed as replacement discs)
Today I tried to boot from the disc to see if it works, after I chose the language, there's a msg saying "Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer" and the two options that I have is to restore from Time Machine or restart.
So I checked the version of the disc in OSX, I discover that it's actually 10.6.1, instead of 10.6.2 which ships with Core i5/i7 iMacs.
Then I phone up AppleCare yet again to see if they have send me the correct disc. The guy asked of my serial number and after a while of checking, he said they have sent me the right disc. They say the discs that come along with the core i5/i7 are actually 10.6.1 as he sees from his system.
If I want to do a clean install of OSX I have to delete and format the volume first, he said.
I am not convinced, how come a recovery disc version could differ from the one that's actually installed?

Oct 23, 2010Looking for some advice as to how to find my iTunes library as I just installed iLife 08 with iTunes in the package but when I click on iTunes to load it up it comes back with this message "The file iTunes Library cannot be read because it was created with by a newer version of iTunes". Don't understand this. Now when I go into iDVD to create a new DVD and click on 'audio' I can see my old list of iTunes.
Anyone know how I could go about finding this and bringing this into the new iTunes 8 which was loaded with iLife 8. I'm almost 70 years old and not quite up to speed you might say. My problem re this is a lot of the library songs which were on iLIfe 6 version of iTunes belong to my daughter who does not have the internet so she comes over and uses mine for her iTunes downloads.
