ICloud :: Unable To Sync Contacts Or Calendar In Mac Office 2011?
Jun 12, 2012
ICloud will not sync my contacts or calendar in Mac Office 2011. ICloud does however sync to my PC at work running Microsoft office 2010 and also to my IPad and IPhone. Does anyone know how to fix this?

After years of bad behavior from .Mac and then MobileMe, now iCloud is ALSO not syncing my calenddar events between my computers and my iPhone.Â
The only way I can make my computers sync with each other and my phone is by going to Calendar/Refresh All on the menu bar in Calendar. I thought this was supposed to happen automatically.Â
It sure seems that syncing in iCloud is just as annoying and broken as it was with .Mac and MobileMe.

I have a Nokia N78 cellphone which I can sync to my Macbook Pro using iSync. This works fine for photos, iCal, contacts but I what I would like to do is to be able to back up and view my sms on my Mac. Does anybody know if there is anyway of achieving this (free if possible)? If not, can anybody recommend a phone (other than the obvious iPhone) that has this syncing capability with Macs? I am looking to update my phone soon anyway.

My family has several macs with different users. We all have the same contacts and calendars so everyon just logs into the same icloud account. But we would like to be able to use the beta messages and for that matter mail without everyone seeing eachothers mail and messages. Is it possible to set that up using iCloud?

I noticed that I had duplicate cards in Contacts and events in Calendar. Looking at Preferences / Accounts I saw that I was somehow logged into iCloud twice as it was listed twice in the left column. I checked the iCloud settings and couldn't see anything untoward. I've un-enabled one of the iCloud accounts which has solved the problem from a useage point of view, but the duplicated iCloud account is still visible.Possible things that caused the issue:
1) I signed out of iCloud on my work machine and back in again a day later earlier this week
2) I edited my email address on the 'Me' card in contacts as my work email was misspeltÂ
how to clear the duplicate account?Â

Hardware and software involved:Â Macbook Pro (bit older model) with fully updated LioniPhone 4 with fully updated newest iOSÂ
Situation: There are all contacts in iCloud. iPhone synces without issue and has all contacts in adress book. On Mac many contacts are missing. Tested solutions on Mac: Turned iCloud account off and on - no result, no change, iCloud still synces only some contacts, Turned iCloud adress book syncing on (while deleting all contacts on Mac) - no result, no change, iCloud still synces only some contacts, Deleting user/Library/applicationsupport/adress book - adress book synced more contacts (and different ones) then before, but still not all. Maybe around 1/2 contacts from iCloud.Â
