Went to "Manage Apple ID" and changed e-mail and password last night. Received confirming e-mails and sent back verification. Today when I started up my Mac and iPhone, got messages telling me I'm not connected to iCloud, messaging is "offline", in short, neither the new or old e-mails or passwords are being recognized. Yet, "Manage Apple ID" will let me logon with new info.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have changed my apple ID username/email address online, and now all of my devices are asking for the password to my old account. I can't find the way to log in with my new username. Is there a way i can update my apple id on all of my different devices?

I've had a 1TB external drive (Samsung Story) working wonderfully as a Time Machine backup for the last month. It had been unplugged for the last couple days, but I plugged it in today to do a back-up. Unfortunately, it wasn't recognized. It stills lights up and makes noises so I don't think it's dead, but no matter which USB port I put I use or how many times I restart, my MacBook won't recognize it anymore.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a 2008 Mac Pro running Snow Leopard, and there seems to be some problems with my USB "system". When I eject an external hard drive, my usb mouse and keyboard will stop working for a short while, sometimes requiring that I unplug and plug them back in. Also, when I try to set my default audio input/output device to my USB interface, it resets every single time I turn the computer on and off. Not sure if these are related, but it seemed relevant.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was playing Starcraft 2 on my MBA and the computer just shut down all of a sudden. Then when I booted back up the USB mouse I had plugged in doesnt work. I've since restarted and plugged in various things and it still doesn't work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a western digital passport ehd with HFS+ formattnig on my mbp. It was working fine for months. I tried always to properly eject it, but occasionally I would meess up and improperly eject if like the HD fell off my lap and the cord came undone or something. Anyway, I think I really got myself in a pickle now. I was either downloading something and then forcequit which caused it, or restarted finder, or something where now my EHD is not even recognized. when plugged in to the usb it looks like it is recognized on system profiler as "vendor-specific" on disk utility it was recognized once and I didn't take the opportunity to try and repair, but instead tried to save data... bad move - now it doesn't even pick up on disk utility - just shows my internal hd. I tried resetting the PRAM - i don't know exactly what that does but I read I should try that somewhere.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new macbook pro and used my time machine disk. All went fine until a message appeared that a device was incorrectly ejected. I clicked the message away and the transfer seemed to continue althpugh it suddenly needed twice the time as before the message. At a certain stage it asked for my apple password (as used o my old machine which i was tranferring to the new one) but Now it doesnt accept my apple password anymore so i am stuck!! I am sure the password is correct. This thing is extra cruel as i had to buy the new one abroad after i was robbed at the airport. Luckily i always travel with my harddisk with backups from time machine but despit this i cant use my new macbook pro because of the above trouble.

I believe I set up iCloud correctly on all three devices. However, only the iMac and the iPhone seem to be syncing properly. For some reason, mail sent from me.com via my macbook pro doesn't show up in my other devices. Also, iCal entries made on my macbook pro are also not showing up.Â

I own a MacBook, bought in 2008 with Leopard as an OS. It is the black model, if this helps. While I was browsing, Firefox started behaving strangely. It was taking forever to minimize windows and could not use the top right function to view all applications/windows open. I restarted the mac but when it booted up again it did not do it properly. For 10 minutes I had the greyish screen with the loading sign underneath the apple logo, then eventually it showed me the safe boot mode, asking for my password.
When I enetered it, it did not accept it (login window shakes at each attempt). I tried to log in from the CD, but again asked the password and did not accept the one I put in, even though I know it was the right one! Now I can't use the mac and can't access safe boot either. Would you know any workaround solution for this, like a way to reset the password? Have you got any clue on why the mac decided all in a sudden to boot up through the safe boot mode?
Calendar, contacts, reminders and bookmarks work well in syncing all of my IOS device and my iMac. I can't get Mail to sync on any of the devices.

For some reason iCloud has decided that my account is no longer verified. None of my Mac computers or iOS devices are able to log on the the iCloud account. When trying to access the iCloud settings on my Mac I get the message that the account is not verified and that I should follow the instructions in the email sent to me. I have not received any email. No matter how many times I click the "resend confirmation" button I still am not getting the email containing instructions on how to reconfirm my account.

I have an iMac, a MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4s. All of theme are running the latest OS & iOS.
My MacBook and iPhone seem to be sycing Mail and iCal fairly well. I can't seem to figure out why my iMac won't join the party.
I think I have all of the settings turned on correctly in Preferences. I am using a Gmail account, Hotmail account and iCloud account in that order.Â

Hard drive recently failed. Replaced hard drive and used Time Machine to recreate system. Everything seems ok, but I cannot install software. It prompts for a password, as it always has, but the system is rejecting my password as invalid. This is the same password I have had for years (yes..i know). I cannot figure out how to reset it since it doesn't recognize the original password.

I uploaded a few documents on to my iCloud drive from my Mac 1. I can see them from My Mac 1 and from iCloud.com but cannot from my other Macs.
Documents were uploaded in the morning and am checking at night, still no signs. Is there a access or sync issue for showing documents across all your devices ?

In the past, I could put an appointment on one computer and it would sync immediately with my 2 laptops, iPhone, and iPad. This is the reason I loved Mobile Me and paid for it for years. iCloud work fine for awhile, but now some of my appointments are not syncing. I have checked all of the settings and they are correct. I put an important appointment on my main laptop last night and it is not on any of the other devices; I then put it on my iPhone and it is not on my iMac at work. All of my software is up to date and current. I really depend on this feature.

I had been trying to install software updates for about a week and each time after I typed in my admin password in the prompt, the prompt kept shaking as if the password was incorrect (which it wasn't because it's the only password I ever use so I know it by heart and the caps lock button was not on). I tried going to my System Preferences page and clicking on the Accounts button. All of the other buttons seemed to work just fine (Appearance, Desktop & Screen Saver, Dock, etc). But my Accounts page took too long to load (it was blank) so I just figured my computer was being slow since it hadn't been shut down in a while. I usually just let my computer fall asleep so that when I use it again, I can just shake the mouse and it would be ready to go. I guess that is what triggered it. I was on the computer last night doing my usual stuff. I didn't download anything funny, didn't try to do any more updates, etc. But my computer was running extra slow so I decided to restart it. When my computer got to the log in screen, my administrator account wasn't showing. I have 2 accounts, the admin and one titled "Guest". It automatically took me to the Guest user log in. But when I entered that password it kept saying the password was incorrect. I know the password and I didn't have caps lock on or anything so there is something wrong with my user accounts and passwords. How do I fix this? More specifically, how do I fix my user accounts and passwords when I can't log into my computer through a standard account and my admin account isn't even showing up?
