ICloud On Mac :: Enable Contacts Syncing Across Devices

Aug 21, 2014

On my Mountain Lion iMac, I enable Contacts Syncing across my devices.A few minutes later, the Mac is totally useless as "AddressBookSourceSync" uses up to 6.6 Gb of RAM..Nothing is then possible. Even opening a Finder's window takes 20 seconds. Rollover the Dock takes one minute. iMac 2011 with 8Gb of RAM and Mountain Lion

ICloud :: It Is Not Syncing Across All Devices

Jun 10, 2012

I have a macbook pro, iphone 4, and iMac.  Both computers are running Lion and my iphone 4 is up to date.

I believe I set up iCloud correctly on all three devices.  However, only the iMac and the iPhone seem to be syncing properly.  For some reason, mail sent from me.com via my macbook pro doesn't show up in my other devices.  Also, iCal entries made on my macbook pro are also not showing up.

I have an iMac, a MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4s. All of theme are running the latest OS & iOS.

My MacBook and iPhone seem to be sycing Mail and iCal fairly well. I can't seem to figure out why my iMac won't join the party.

ICloud :: Its Contacts Not Syncing

May 20, 2012

Sometimes works, sometimes not.  IS there a way to force sync them?  My ipad currently shows 335 contacts, and my Mac Lion, and iphone show 79.

I have a ton of data on the ipad that  I want to access from all devices. Wierdly enough, SOMETIME the transfer occurs, sometimes not. This morning I entered a new contact on the iPad, and it instantly appeared on the Mac and iphone. So why don't the other 280 or so do that!?

ICloud On Mac :: Why Is Calendar Not Syncing On All Computers And Devices

Aug 20, 2014

In the past, I could put an appointment on one computer and it would sync immediately with my 2 laptops, iPhone, and iPad. This is the reason I loved Mobile Me and paid for it for years. iCloud work fine for awhile, but now some of my appointments are not syncing. I have checked all of the settings and they are correct. I put an important appointment on my main laptop last night and it is not on any of the other devices; I then put it on my iPhone and it is not on my iMac at work. All of my software is up to date and current. I really depend on this feature.

ICloud :: Calendar And Contacts Not Syncing?

Mar 5, 2012

After years of bad behavior from .Mac and then MobileMe, now iCloud is ALSO not syncing my calenddar events between my computers and my iPhone.

The only way I can make my computers sync with each other and my phone is by going to Calendar/Refresh All on the menu bar in Calendar.  I thought this was supposed to happen automatically.

It sure seems that syncing in iCloud is just as annoying and broken as it was with .Mac and MobileMe.

ICloud :: Some Contacts Not Syncing - Have Checked 'on My Mac'

Apr 16, 2012

I have a mac mini, a macbook, iphone and ipad. I upgraded from mobileme to icloud recently.

on my mac mini i have 833 contacts, I am syncing with iCloud, but icloud is only showing 750 contacts.

I have checked my mac mini for a group that says 'on my mac' and i don't have one, it's not showing in my group list which means that theres no contacts in there.

Under the iCloud group on my mac mini, when i click 'All contacts' the missing contacts are in there. (these include my boyfriend and my dad!) yet these contacts are not on icloud.com, my iphone or ipad...

I seem to have baffled iCloud support and am still waiting for a resolution

Is there some way they may be in an 'on my mac' account and not showing somehow? but then i dont understand how they'd appear under all contacts in the icloud account.

ICloud On Mac :: Contacts Constantly Syncing?

Dec 2, 2014

Contacts v9.0 under Yosemite (but problem was there under previous version) on Autumn 2012 iMac. I only have contacts on iCloud active.

Whenever Contacts is open the grey spinning sync wheel is present at the top of the list of folders next to the word iCloud.

This means that when ever I try to scroll up or down the list of contacts this is jerky. Also there are some contacts that I cannot delete (or at least when I do, they re appear about 5 seconds later) and I am unable to add some contacts to some of the folders. In other words contacts seems to have a mind of it's own.

When I log into iCloud using Safari I can delete Contacts entries. However I then get the following error message from Contacts running on my iMac - "The operation couldn’t be completed. (CoreDAVErrorDomain error 1.)"

I have recently noticed a problem that while ical entries made on the Mac will synch to all devices, ical entries made on the iPhone or iPad won't synch to the Mac. I have tried the troubleshooting tips on the apple site, including turning off icloud on the mac for calendars, but it still doesn't work. It essentially means I cant trust my Mac calendar to be up-to-date.

ICloud On Mac :: Safari History Not Syncing Across Devices With Yosemite And IOS 8

Dec 11, 2014

I have a MacBook Pro with the latest update of Yosemite installed, an iPad 2 with iOS 8.1.1, an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1.1 and other things seem to be syncing like my bookmarks, reading list, and all other iCloud data as well as iMessages and text messages. But the one thing that does not seem to be syncing is my browsing history in Safari.

I've tried going into iCloud settings on all three devices and turning off Safari sync and then turning it back on but no luck.

ICloud :: Syncing Contacts With Multiple .me Accounts?

May 14, 2012

My wife and I both have a .mac/.me account. She runs iphone 4s & ipad 2 whilst I run iphone 3gs, macbook and imac. All now run IOS5/Lion and I transferred last week from mobile me to icloud. However, with mobileme we used to share contacts and calendars. I've worked out how we can continue to see a 'joint' calendar' [by adding my account to her iphone for calendar only] but cannot seem to do the same in respect of shared contacts.

We both have our own contacts which must stay on our own devices but I had assumed that the sharing of mutual data that was submitted by either of us via any our devices would be easier via icloud. Instead it seems harder since icloud has to attach to one or other of our identities, unlike mobile me. Obviously I can go through Clare's contacts in icloud and manually delete each individual of my contacts, but how do I add my contacts that she wants also on an ongoing basis?

ICloud On Mac :: Contacts On IPhone And Gmail Not Syncing

Jun 26, 2014

A friend has an iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1) and a Mac Book Pro (OSX Lion). He wanted the contacts from his Gmail account to appear on his iPhone. This was easy enough - I just added his Gmail account to his iPhone under Mail, Contacts Calendars.

The problem - we want all of these contacts to sync with his Mac. Both if the iPhone and Mac have iCloud enabled with the same account. Accounts are set to sync. However, the only contacts appearing on him Mac are the ones that were already there. It's not syncing all accounts from his iPhone.

We have 3 iMac's (Lion) 3 iPhone's (iOS 5) and some iPads (2 & 3) using the same iCloud account for contacts, calendar etc. Calendar is fine but on the address book under iCloud there are around 20 groups called "card" and they keep duplicating, even if you delete them the next day they will be back, the contacts don't duplicate just the groups. Applications :: Unable To Keep Contacts / Syncing With Google Changes Contacts

Jan 20, 2010

I'm not exactly sure of where to post this... I'm having a problem with my computer (Address Book, I believe) syncing w/ Google contacts. I'm getting the following error messages:

The first image is the original error that comes up. If I click More Info, it brings me to a list of contacts. The "Before" info contains the correct fields for their email addresses (e.g., school, work, etc). However, Google wants to get rid of these fields.

Is there any way I can get Google to accept this fields? Also, can I have Google revert to my Mac's info instead of the other way around (my mac using Google's changes)

OS X Yosemite :: IMessage Is Not Syncing On 3 Devices

Dec 3, 2014

I have an iPhone 4s with IOS 8, an iPad 2 with IOS 8, and a mid-2011 iMac running Yosemite. All are updated. The iMessages on my three devices do not sync. An example: This morning I sent an iMessage to a friend from my phone after she  sent me a message from her Android phone. The messages do not appear on my iMac or iPad, just on the iPhone. I completely deleted said contact from my contacts on all devices, but when I added her back, the same message/no message situation existed. I read the following about "continuity" on the apple website:

With OS X Yosemite and an iPhone running iOS 8, you can send and receive SMS text messages right from your Mac. So when friends text you — regardless of what phone they have — you can respond from your Mac or your iPhone, whichever is closest.2 All the messages that appear on your iPhone now appear on your Mac, too, so your conversation is up to date on all your devices. You can also start an SMS or iMessage conversation on your Mac by clicking a phone number in Safari, Contacts, Calendar, or Spotlight.
