OS X Mavericks :: Mail Cannot Connect To ICloud Account
Jun 3, 2014My Mail client stopped connecting to iCloud all of a sudden this morning.It has been set up a while ago and always worked fine. Now it shows the broken connection icon, and when I click on it it asks for my iCloud password.I enter the correct password and click OK, and nothing happens. The broken connection icon remain and I do not receive new e-mail and cannot send emails.
I am certain this is the right password as I can log into iCloud webmail, and my iphone and ipad remained connected. Is there something wrong with the iCloud server, or is there something I can do?

Feb 22, 2012I am getting the error: CANNOT GET MAIL.the user name or password for icloud is incorrect on both of my ipads, my iphone and my Macbook air. The username and password are the same that I have been using for years.
I am a former .me user that was migrated to the cloud. Unitl now, no issues with email. I cann actually sign on to mobile me but still cannot get to the email.

Today I was having trouble with the account being "offline", so I went into Mail preferences and re-entered my password for icloud. Somehow, I now have Mobile Me (inactive) on my computer, but no icloud to be found. When I try to sign in to icloud, it tells me that I am already signed in and to change accounts, I need to delete my icloud account and sign in again

Everything seems to work ok except when a sub-account holder logs into iCloud on the web. The welcome screen shows the name of the master account holder instead of their name. Seems like a bug from the migration from MobileMe.

I was wondering whether there's a way of setting up iCloud with my work email address in order to sync my emails on both machines? I have to refer to my emails quite a lot in my job and it will be rather frustrating to have some one one machine and the rest on the other. Oue email server is POP only. I use Apple Mail on both machines.

Mar 29, 2012When I look the iCloud icon account under system preferences the account shows my name but when I open up "account details" the name field has my wife's name. i have dited this in the detils page but as soon as I log out of system preferences and log back in the name field reverts to my wife's name. This is causing issues with alerts set up in iCal being directed to the wron email address.How can I permanently edit the account name in the details tab of the iCloud section?
