Aug 7, 2009I ordered a macbook pro and an iPod touch yesterday and didn't get a confirmation email so I cancelled.
I contacted the bank today and everything is in order so I ordered again and it's been 2 hours and I didn't get the confirmation email yet. Does it usually take this long? I've never bought on the online apple store before. I got the "thank you for your order" thing and everything so I'm sure they accepted the credit card. I'm not sure why the email is taking forever and it's getting me to be a little edgy.

Feb 26, 2012I use IMAP email so that all folders are based on a server, rather than on my computer (learnt the hard way when my computer crashed and I lost everything). Today when I went to save an email in a folder on entourage, entourage crashed and when I reloaded the app the folder had gone. I tried again with another email and another folder and the same thing happened. When I log on to my email account using the providers webmail service I can see that the folder is still there, it just won't show up in entourage.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Unread Email Count Missing From Dock?
Mar 31, 2012For some reason, soon after migrating from MobileMe to iCloud, the indicator showing how many unread messages I have disappeared. The strange thing is the count DOES show for my other email accounts (POP server accounts through Road Runner)....it's the IMAP iCloud email account that shows NO count indicator at all.Â
I have an iMac running the latest version of Lion.
The unread email count indicator DOES appear on my MacBookPro and my MacMini at work.....it's just the iMac at home that has this issue.Â
How do you make the unread email count reappear?Â

Mar 10, 2008I'm using Mail with a gmail IMAP account. Recently a friend sent me an email with an Excel workbook attached, but the attachment didn't show up in Mail (no attachment in the message, no paperclip icon indicating an attachment in the Inbox). The really strange part is that if I go into my gmail account using a browser, the attachment is there. I received several other similar attachments from other people, and all those attachments showed up in Mail.

Apr 20, 2012I am trying to get all my devices working together on the cloud and syncing when plugged to eachother. I schedule a meeting in iCal and it doesn't go over to the other devices. In addition, when I try to go to apple and set up the cloud, it tells me to go to the Apple Preferences and select the iCloud icon. I don't have one on my laptop.

May 16, 2012I was looking for an old appointment in iCal and have realised that since I started using iCloud, all my previous events are missing from my Mac.  I have tried opening Time Machine but it doesn't seem to want to open iCal.If I untick all the iCloud calendars in iCal leaving only "On My Mac" ticked I end up with no events at all.

ICloud :: Mobile Documents Folder Missing In 10.7.3?
Feb 2, 2012I have a 13" MacBook Air and a 27" iMac that I just did the combo update to 10.7.3. Since I have updated, I am missing the mobile documents folder. If I upload a pages document to icloud.com on my iMac and then go to icloud.com on my MacBook Air, it show's the file, however, it's the default pages icon, and it doesn't give me the opportunity to download it. Â
Because of this, I thought I'd look in the "Mobile Documents" folder and see if I can access it from there. However not that folder is missing. I have tried many different ways to get it to show up but I've been unable to. Â
I'm curious if Apple realized some people were using this folder as a "Dropbox" and disabled or further hid the folder so people can't sync files back and forth. More importantly, why doesn't icloud.com work for me as it used to?Â
Anyone know of any tricks to get the Mobile Documents folder to show up in 10.7.3?
ICloud :: Icon Missing In System Preferences?
Mar 14, 2012Just upgraded to Lion on my desktop machine (iMac) and laptop (MacBook Pro). iCloud is working fine between my laptop and mobile devices (iPhone and iPad), but not with my desktop iMac. This is most obvious with iCal, which still tries to sync with MobileMe (even though the account info says its been upgraded to iCloud.Â

Apr 7, 2012Recently upgraded to Lion and activated/registered photostream in preferences on my Mac after migrating from mobile me to iCloud but the Photostream app is not showing up online. When I choose to share photos in iPhoto the images load into the photostream upload in iPhoto but nothing shows up in iCloud. Email, Calender and Contacts are working.Â

May 11, 2012I take pictures with my iPhone 4s and they go to my iPad just great but I only get about 50% of them to my MacBook Pro. They are radomly not there. There will be five or six that are there then 5 or 6 that are black no photo. All the warythrough the 200 photos I took on my latest trip? Is there any reason for this random messing up of photos? Is there anyway of getting them on the MacBook short of syncing my iPhone 4s through iPhoto? I am not liking this Photo Stream right now to many missing photos.Â

I deleted my iTunes folders and then intended to set up again, downloading the 10,000 tracks that were previously on Match. Jan 2, 2011I did a fresh install of Mac OSX on it and then booted it up from the CD again and did a zero-out. I left about halfway through and when I came back I never had any confirmation that it was done so I did another zero out. Again, I didn't receive confirmation when it finished but I did watch it finish that time. I guess I'm just paranoid that someone will be able to get something off of it because I used it for so many years and have so many passwords. So, my question is..is there anything else I should do prior to shipping it off or am I in the clear even if it falls into the wrong hands on ebay?

Jan 30, 2009I was putting a fresh install of OS X on a friend's MacBook. I put in the disk, it asked me to restart, and I went to Disk Utility (on restore disk) to zero out the data on the hard disk. I clicked partition (since he had a boot camp partition) to 1 partition and clicked apply. Here's where things go kinda weird. The confirmation dialogue comes up and the whole screen froze. I waited for a few minutes but nothing. I then held the power button until it shuts down. Reboot, and there's this beeping noise. It beeps 2 times, stops, and then beeps 3 times. I searched Google, which pulled up entries like bad RAM or something, but my RAM wad upgraded a long time ago, really rare coincidence that it failed while Disk Utility (off the restore disk) froze. I need to install the OS.
