I have a Macbook with OSX v10.5.8 and I used to be able to easily attach photos from my iPhoto library to an email and send it but I have not done it in awhile and when I recently tried it my email message displays 'missing plugin'.

Because you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can't be displayed." I have used the Help menu to list the installed plug-ins and there are only 2 x-java- plug-ins listed. Since I upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard, Mail has had glitches. I fixed one; the other remains: I can't see Word attachments in emails. The only hint is the message "Missing Plug-in". If I show the entire header, Mail provides buttons to Quickview the document or save it. The previous problem was that Mail wouldn't start up (kept quitting while doing the initial database migration) because I'd left in MailActOn as a plugin. So I removed plugins and the contents of ~/Library/Mail/Bundles. Now Mail works except for this.

The same author made one for zip files and it works fine. Just can't get this one to do anything.
I recently upgraded my HD and did a clean install of Snow Leopard. Before the upgrade, I could view PDFs in both Safari and Firefox in-browser with Adobe Reader. I prefer this to Preview because of the toolbar options. After the upgrade, even though I have Adobe Acrobat Pro and Adobe Reader installed, I can not view PDFs in-browser with it. Safari defaults to Preview as a reader and Firefox defaults to download the PDF (I thought it would install the plugin when I installed the Reader. I can not find an independent reader plugin for firefox online). I am running Safari 4.0.4, Firefox 3.5.5, Adobe Reader 9.2.0, and Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1.3.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use IMAP email so that all folders are based on a server, rather than on my computer (learnt the hard way when my computer crashed and I lost everything). Today when I went to save an email in a folder on entourage, entourage crashed and when I reloaded the app the folder had gone. I tried again with another email and another folder and the same thing happened. When I log on to my email account using the providers webmail service I can see that the folder is still there, it just won't show up in entourage.

For some reason, soon after migrating from MobileMe to iCloud, the indicator showing how many unread messages I have disappeared. The strange thing is the count DOES show for my other email accounts (POP server accounts through Road Runner)....it's the IMAP iCloud email account that shows NO count indicator at all.Â
I have an iMac running the latest version of Lion.
The unread email count indicator DOES appear on my MacBookPro and my MacMini at work.....it's just the iMac at home that has this issue.Â
How do you make the unread email count reappear?Â

I had a notes section under mailboxes in mail. Within this notes section I had several named mailboxes that I used to store various emails. They are now missing from my mac when I converted to Maverick. I still have them on my iPhone.Â

I'm using Mail with a gmail IMAP account. Recently a friend sent me an email with an Excel workbook attached, but the attachment didn't show up in Mail (no attachment in the message, no paperclip icon indicating an attachment in the Inbox). The really strange part is that if I go into my gmail account using a browser, the attachment is there. I received several other similar attachments from other people, and all those attachments showed up in Mail.

Sometimes I can send mail and sometimes I cant. When I can't I sometimes get the 'problem with outgoing server address' message, but the address is correct. Sometimes test messages sent by me to me go into the Important mailbox but not into the Inbox.Messages that have failed send end up copied several times in a folder called Bin.

My young son got hold of my Mac and changed all kinds of settings randomly.
iPhotos used to come up as a screen with all the thumbnails. Now it opens into a screen with just one photo. The show thumbnail in the toolbar is greyed out.
I recently got a new computer for college. It is a a v.10.7.4, 15 inch, 2.4 GHz processor MacBook Pro, and has gotten all the most recent Software Updates. However, following my iPhoto 9.3 update, I noticed an issue. In Launchpad iPhoto appears twice, even though it is only one application.Â
iPhoto can be seen to the far-right in the second line and at the right of the bottom line. When I try clicking on them both it just leads me back to the same window. iPhoto only appears once in the Applications folder. getting the second photo to disappear?
