Jun 5, 2012Every time I buy a new divece my adress book crash... in the case I buy today the new iPhone and after Sync the Adress Book wouldn't open it shows a problem number 1712 no idea what is this. Before Sync I had 671 cards and after It shows 600,000 cards . The iMac is very slow even I didn't pass my contacts to the iPhone . It is and old problem I want to solve once completely ... It comes to my mind delete Adress Book and reinstall?

May 4, 2012I have had this issue with my address book for a while in that it creates new entries with just an email address as the actual entry and then hundreds of other email addresses from address book as this entry's additional email addresses.Â
At the same time I had an issue with Apple Mail that I thought was unrelated but now I am not that sure anymore. When I turn Apple Mail on, it sends out emails that look like an endless chain of responses (spam) to the same email that advertises all kinds of stuff.Â
When I first noticed the issue I turned Mail off (a year ago). After updating to Lion I tried to use mail again but had the same issue and have not been using it since. But I appear to still find new entries in my address book all the time.Â
I ran some software (ClamX) but wasn't able to find any malware so far. I can't imagine someone hacking into my machine and doing all this my hand. For what?Â
So I am wondering whether anyone has had similar symptoms on their Mac?

Mar 13, 2012I run a small business which has a new Mac Mini 10.7 and iMacs 10.5.8 which we currently store all our on-going work on a Hard Drive connected via ethernet. However, I want to try and achieve the following:Â
1 storage device for all work (around 1TB in size)
Access to my work from home, main office or another office
Work directly on drive (don't want to download, amend, and re-upload)
Access via various Mac OS, from 10.5-10.7
Not too expensive! Is there any on-line storage site or Live Hard Drive I can use to gain access to my work, work live directly to from various locations using the Macs as above, or am I just dreaming of something that does not exist?Â

Dec 21, 2009My wife is blind and the address book with voiceover is a chore. it is easy to get around but to read the info under a card is a pain. I bought her a itouch for Christmas that will get around it better. but it would be good to have a simple txt or word doc type file on the desktop to look at. over the years she has a txt file with the info I put it all in her address book but the file is faster. but it is a mess too.

Mar 19, 2012I'm using an iMac with Mac OS 10.5.8 as a desktop and a MacBook with 10.6.8 when I travel. I want to transfer my entire Address Book from the MacBook back to my iMac. I have done the reverse multiple times with no problem by simply creating an archive with Address Book (v.4.1.2) and importing it on my MacBook (Address Book v. 5.0.3). But when I do the reverse, the only vcards that show up are the ones I've updated while using my MacBook. All the rest are gone. I know I can recover all the vcards by shift-clicking the entire list and copying them as a file. However, I want to revover all my group lists, which are too many to recreate.
