Applications :: Export Excel File To Mac Address Book?
Apr 18, 2009
i am a new mac user and am slowly starting to get to grips with everything mymcbook can do. I used to have a hotmail account but now i want to use MAC's MAIL. I already managed to get my mails delivered but now i'm struggling with the email addresses. I have managed to export these from my hotmail account to Excel for Mac but would like to get them, nicely ordened in Apple's address book so that i can directly use then in MAIL.
My wife is blind and the address book with voiceover is a chore. it is easy to get around but to read the info under a card is a pain. I bought her a itouch for Christmas that will get around it better. but it would be good to have a simple txt or word doc type file on the desktop to look at. over the years she has a txt file with the info I put it all in her address book but the file is faster. but it is a mess too.
I want to create a separate database for my professional contacts using Excel or Filemaker. Right now I have them all in Address Book. If I could just export my database as a tab-delimited text file.
Info: 2008 Macbook Pro 2.4ghz intel core 2 duo, Mac OS X (10.6.6)
I am trying to move contact info for a list of clients from an excel spreadsheet to address book. I am using office mad 2008 and regular address book (not Bento or anything) I can't figure out how to do it.
I am setting up Constant Contact to do email newsletters for my business. How can I export my groups from my Mac Addresses? CC suggested Address Exporter, but my iMac says can't use because PC Power apps are no longer supported
Info:iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.2), Also using iPad 2 and iPhone 4S
I am needing to export some contacts out of address book into a .csv file as I am switching over to an actual mailing list provider. Any ideas how to do that? I downloaded a program called addressbook2csv, but it doesn't work
I'm using an iMac with Mac OS 10.5.8 as a desktop and a MacBook with 10.6.8 when I travel. I want to transfer my entire Address Book from the MacBook back to my iMac. I have done the reverse multiple times with no problem by simply creating an archive with Address Book (v.4.1.2) and importing it on my MacBook (Address Book v. 5.0.3). But when I do the reverse, the only vcards that show up are the ones I've updated while using my MacBook. All the rest are gone. I know I can recover all the vcards by shift-clicking the entire list and copying them as a file. However, I want to revover all my group lists, which are too many to recreate.
i did a "clean" install of leopard today and have everything back to normal except for my address book address's. i have backup's on my time machine drive, but where would the address file(s) be located on it? simply copying the address book from the applications folder does not do it of course.
Why can't I attach a file to an email unless I export it to Word or Excel?
If I create a file in Pages, Numbers, or Keynote and save it to my documents, I can't attach that file to an email. It says the file cannot be attached. If I go back to the file and export to Word or Excel, It will attach to the email. How can I fix this?
I am searching for a plugin, software or a solution for a situation I have with an Excel/Word Mail Merge.
It's a law firm we specialize in DUI/DWI and Reckless Driving defense. We subscribe to a data collection service that pulls data from various court systems around the state. We are then given this data by jurisdiction. The Excel files we receive come with 2 workbooks in one file for Traffic and Criminal arrests data with name, address, reason for arrest, etc, etc.
What I have been doing is opening each Excel file and copying and pasting into a new worksheet only grabbing the DUI and Reckless driving arrests because tis is all I am needing from the various files. I then save the new workbook and do a mail merge with Word from this newly created workbook.
Now my question is there such a plugin or software that will combine all the Excel files I receive from the Data collection house and then be able to filter out only the DUI and Reckless Driving arrests to a single Excel Workbook?
So i just upgraded my macbook form tiger to snow leopard. I decided to do a clean install as there was plenty on my computer which i didn't want or need. There are two things that if possible i would love to keep and those are my address book contacts and my calendar dates.
I have a Carbon Copy Clone of my computer done just before I upgraded the software on my computer.
So my question is, Is there a way to take a certain file or something and add it to my new address book and calendar rather than imputing all the info again?
Searching in my address book didn't work anymore so I exported the whole address book as an .abbu file and deleted all entries. Now when I try to import that file, it looks for busy for a few minutes and then ends up having no entries. I tried disconnecting from the internet as I read somewhere to avoid interference with iCloud. I also tried creating a new account and import it there so I could change it into vCards, but it wouldn't import there either. It's a 1.3 GB file. I don't have a back-up file or something I can use instead (which wouldn't be up to date) and unfortunately it already synced with my iPhone which has now an empty address book. I also opened the .abbu file and tried to import the .abcdg files but that doesn't work either
Address-book doesnt work after update from Snow Lepard to Lion 10.7.3 PB says your address-book is 5.0.3. PB says You have adressbook 10.5.3, yes, but now?
I am not able to import contacts from a .csv file to address book. The import stalls when I press ok and next at about no 4 of 300. For some reason, the import notes I have over 400 contacts when I have about 300.
I am running Address Book 5.0 on Snow Leopard on one machine, and want to share my contacts on another machine running OSX10.4.11, Address Book v4.0.....can this be done?
I would like to export the audio from a quicktime movie. i have QT 7 Pro. I want to listen to the audio from the movie in my car, on a CD. I tried it a few different ways, as AIFF, another, and it saves a large file but doesn't sound when I play it. No sound. Is there a way to save it so it's audible? These are AVI files.
I just erased my HD and Im reinstalled all my programs. Im now trying to import my contacts to my address book. Before I erased my HD, I made a back up of my contacts by going to file>>>Export>>>Address Book Archive. and it saved it as a .abbu file. Now that its time to restore my contacts, It wont let me. My whole system was saved with time machine, so how do I restore my contacts threw time machine, without restoring everything else?
An interesting problem that I haven't been able to reconcile through my hosting company so I thought I would post here. I exported a video clip using QT Pro 7.6.4, export for web and uploaded the entire directory and tested for playback on my iPhone 3G 3.1.2:
http://propeller-group.com/Hypnotist/ReadMe.html (iPhone playback doesn't work and it does not even load the poster image - but desktop playback does work perfectly.)
Then I proceeded to upload the same directory to another site to test for playback: http://mattlucero.com/Hypnotist/ReadMe.html (both iPhone and desktop playback methods work perfectly)
So then I proceed to see if the individual files are even playing back on the server that wasn't loading the video on my iPhone: [URL](video plays back fine on the iPhone when hit directly)
This leads me to believe it is an html/scripting error of some kind? But this is the exact same html file generated from QT that has been uploaded to both servers. I have tried using the full URL for the .mov file to no avail. Why would it work on one server and not on another? Is there possibly some issues with the server not being able to interpret the reference file correctly? Or a javascript/server type error? Or is there something else I am missing? I have tried configuring MIME types using a .htaccess file, but I am not sure if this is even the issue as I am able to play back the video fine when hit directly.
