ICloud :: Apple Says Iweb Will No Longer Be Able To Create
Mar 27, 2012
Apple tells me because of their move to iCloud the iWeb function on my MacBook will no longer be able to publish my website. I can create a site with iWeb but not publish it. I will need a third party. I like managing my website myself. What are people doing in my situation? I haven't moved to iCloud yet but am told I will have to by June 30. All I'm seeing in the forums is how much trouble people are having with iCloud.
I've been married for over 5 years but my Apple ID is my maiden name. Can I create an Apple ID with my married name and somehow transfer all the information from my first account over to the new one? I don't understand why I can't create a new account and merge the two, erasing the first one.
My husband's computers use Tiger and Leopard (10.5.8) to access his email on the Mail program. His mail is from Comcast and uses the Comcast server, not apple or iCloud. His mail suddenly stopped working a couple of days ago.....as it did on one of my machines that still uses Tiger. He had not done any updates that could have broken the software. He does not have iCloud except on his phone and he doesn't even have a .mac address. There is no reason for the comcast server to not be able to be accessed by Mail app. He did finally update everything that needed it and it still does not work. Why would Apple's change over to iCloud break email access from other servers and how can we fix it. He really doesn't want to do his mail on Comcast's web site as it's slow and awkward.Â
iweb doesnt load a site and cant create new one the menu item for new site ios greyed out i deleted the preferences and same thing and them installed the iweb 3.0.1 software update and same thing
I have a huge file I need to send a bunch of people, but its 150MB, so I was wondering about uploading the file to the FTP and giving a direct link for people to download? My webpage is up already so I know how to use iweb and and cyberduck, but I've yet to figure out to just upload it and send a direct link via FTP url?
I have Imac. When we moved from mobile me to icloud, the calendar no longer pushes to icloud.Message in calendar is: The calendar url... was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct.
There's no facility (that I can find) on iweb to publish a website using icloud, as it only offers mobileme and idisk. How do you get round this? Or should I jettison iweb and use other software? Can anyone recommend software that is as simple to use as iweb? I need something that is quick to set up, good-looking and capable of being dismantled quickly when the site has served its purpose.I've been into the app store but there are lots and they all seem to cost 54.99 sterling.
does anyone think that Apple wil create a professional version for web developing. I mean it seems they're heavily invested in the web developing world and with html5 around the corner an all. Not to mention, I dont want to use dreamweaver as it doesnt seem to be intuitive (at least to me) and rapidweaver is very nice and very easy to use, except missing a lot of features, even with 3rd party plugins, there is a lot left to be desired.
Iwe know that Apple is building a huge server farm that almost certainely is pertaining to MobileMe or its sucessor. We also know that that iWeb is rather tied to the web and MobileMe (off course I know that you can use iWeb without MobileMe). And the MacApp Store is coming in less t han 90 days I think that the iLife suite is being deprecated and the four apps are going to be sold individually in the MacApp Store. Thereby they can have individual releases.
I can no longer log into my iCloud account. On both my home and work mini mac I get a dialog box that asks me to cancel or learn more about iCloud (a link to a website). I could use iCloud before.
When I have a new event in Calendar on ICloud, I sometimes like to have "alerts" more than two days out. For instance my drivers license expires in July and I want a 30 day reminder but I see no way to set an alert that far out in the calendar in ICloud. ICal had (has) that ability.Â
Writing this on behalf of my dad who is not that technical, he is the one having this problem. First he noticed that mail in his the mail.app was not working. He then tried logging into iCloud on the web but could not. He has one Apple ID which won't allow you to login anywhere, not iCloud, nor even this Apple Support Page. The Apple ID and password are definately correct and have never been changed. We have tried going to [url] to reset the password. After entering the Apple ID and hitting next, then selecting the option to answer security questions, first question, date of birth, comes back and says date of birth does not match records. So went back and selected email authentication. It then says that an email has been sent. The problem here is that he cannot access his email to receive the email notification. Mail is not working because of the problem with the account. Also cannot log into iCloud either to receive the email. I don't really want to create a new Apple ID, as this will cause a lot of hassle.Â
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4), MobileMe iCloud Account
I have been trying to download Cloud 1.I put my Apple ID and Password in.It didn't take.I changed my password and it still didn't take. Also, when I tried to download mobile me, it wanted my 'member name and ID'.Is that separate? All I want to do, actually , is sink my contacts in Yahoo to gmail on safari.I was able to do that on Mail in Mac, but not on Safari.
I have heard that .mac and mobileme were supposed to be some unworkable system. But so far iCloud seems to be a practical joke, or a way around dropping the service entirely. There appears to be no way to create a document using the applications in iWork, on a Mac, and "share" them using the "Cloud", except for "iWork", which Apple is killing this summer. On an iPad, though, the only documents that can be accessed are copies from iTunes, iDisk (which I think dies this summer too) and webDav? So already, the supposed way of seamlessly syncing my documents depends on separate and apparently conflicting methods. Yet, all of Apple's literature would have me believe that all these apps are compatible, and use, this vaporware called "iCloud".
I would really prefer Apple saying they can't make it work.I can start using Microsoft Office 11 and set up something that approximates a webDav, but then will apple kill that on the iPads? This is starting to look like a worse mess than it was before. If you can edit a photograph, how much harder can it be to edit text?
My iCloud mail on my iMac no longer works, yesterday it just stopped. I go tth eiMac in mid 2007, same iCloud email account works on a mini mac i purchased last summer, solutions?
Since early this morning, I have had issues with my iCloud mail account. As of now I am able to send and receive mail fine, but the folders I used to organize messages are no longer showing up on Mail and my iPhone.
It seems like the server has gone down or something in the past few days. My settings originally used in Thunderbird for my iCloud e-mail are no longer valid. Anyone else having the same issue? I am able to receive e-mail but I cannot send. I've tried resetting my password and using various outgoing servers including [URL] and [URL].
When I put a new appointment on my iPhone ICal, it no longer appears in my Computer ICal. I have checked all the settings on my phone, and they are enabled, so I don't know what is going wrong. My computer is also connected to ICloud. It worked fine before I sent overseas, but has not worked since I have got home.
