But is there a way to put different files into one iCloud folder? I need to sort my documents not by app, but by topic!
Is there a way to create folders on one iPad and sync the folders to multiple iPads? I have 23 iPads and I want to have all the folders match for easier access for students.

My Macbook has been much slower than usual lately, and today it just stopped creating files. When I try and open Skype, it tells me it cannot create the users file, when i try to open itunes, it tells me it cannot create the itunes folder.
I have repaired the disk permissions and verified the disk. Verification came back okay. I'm now at a loss as for what to do. I can't download any new files (it tells me that I'm out of disk space, while I have 50 gb's free), so downloading anything to fix the problem won't work.
I imported a large store of outlook email messages into iCloud mail - including many folders and subfolders some time ago. I would now like to delete the lot of them. Deleting a single message or folder works fine. However, when I try to delete a folder with subfolders, even though I reply to the 'are you sure' message by clicking "yes," the folder and subfolders initially disappear yet, immediately upon refresh, all folders and subfolders reappear and I find that the instruction has been completely ignored.

I can't find a third party app to create a MD5 checksum of folders and subfolders. The closest I got was checksum+, but the programs doesn't handle large folders; it freezes.
So I would like to go into Terminal and do it manually. Can someone share the command line to create:
�a MD5 checksum of a folder and its subfolders and output it to a txt file.
�a way then to use that outputted text file for file verification. My initial thinking is that I would have to create another MD5 checksum of the copied folder and then use a difference type command to compare the text files?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a script that Jacques Rioux kindly helped me out with a couple days ago. I altered his script a little to complete a different task I needed to create a shortcut for. The script below first creates two folders (TIFF & JPEG) and then it sorts files with an extension .tif into the 'TIFF' folder and files with the extension .jpg into the folder named 'JPEG'. This works great but I would like the script to effect multiple folders. Can anyone help me add to the script so when you click it, a prompt will pop up allowing you to choose multiple folders to apply the script too? As of now it will only work on one folder at a time.

I'm looking for a photo management program that will organize my photos using folders for events, so if I ever decide to switch programs, it will be easy because it's all organized already. I currently have iPhoto, but it doesn't seem to create folders in the "Pictures" directory, so I doubt switching to another program from iPhoto will be simple. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have heard that .mac and mobileme were supposed to be some unworkable system.But so far iCloud seems to be a practical joke, or a way around dropping the service entirely.There appears to be no way to create a document using the applications in iWork, on a Mac, and "share" them using the "Cloud", except for "iWork", which Apple is killing this summer. On an iPad, though, the only documents that can be accessed are copies from iTunes, iDisk (which I think dies this summer too) and webDav? So already, the supposed way of seamlessly syncing my documents depends on separate and apparently conflicting methods. Yet, all of Apple's literature would have me believe that all these apps are compatible, and use, this vaporware called "iCloud".

Apple tells me because of their move to iCloud the iWeb function on my MacBook will no longer be able to publish my website. I can create a site with iWeb but not publish it. I will need a third party. I like managing my website myself. What are people doing in my situation? I haven't moved to iCloud yet but am told I will have to by June 30. I have personal archive folders that were on my Mac but were not in MobileMe before I transitioned to ICloud. I exported all of them (as .mbox files) to my Mac Desktop. I see no Import function in iCloud mail. I do realize that Smart folders won't work in iCloud, but nearly all of the personal folders are regular folders. Is there a way to get these archives into iCloud mail? I don't want to have to create them all over again and mail every message to myself at my iCloud email address and file all of them to newly created folders.

I used MobileMe but am being forced to iCloud. I used MobileMe to store documents but in iCloud it doesn't seem that one can create folders in which to put documents; I can only upload documents to "Pages" tab and sort them by name. Also, the support seems to indicate I should be able to upload PDF but when I try it says that PDF is not supported.
