How do I move iWeb 08 sites to another host?

So, by June all my iDisk content will be gone forever? Whatever happens my issue right now is that: I already switched to iCloud. Probably about a year ago I thought I "unpublished" my sites from iWeb, took them offline or whatever. Well, my iWeb sites are online and now that iWeb is discontinued the only way to access my iWeb sites are through my MobileMe iDisk.
I want to delete the blogs, posts, photos, etc from iWeb but the trashcan icon is not illuminated and it will not allow me to delete the content. How do I get rid of this stuff!? Or will it even matter because it will disappear June 30? I have been browsing the discussion board and haven't seen any recent questions pertaining to this specific problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my MobileMe account since 2003. Had my three Macs since my first G4 and added to them as I could afford.I also have an iPhone 3G. All have access to my MobileMe.
I also have my website on MobileMe. Can I ask, what happens, as I got a warning to switch, as my MobileMe will end soon, if I can't have Lion on my computers? My 11 years of connection to MobileMe will all be lost?Â
I live in Greece and Mac prices are through the roof here. This is a forced upgrade tactic, I feel. Will there be no alternative to online mail for the lesser mortals without Lion?Â
Could I have an answer, and not get deleted again, as, as the email states, time is running out.Â

So I was just thinking it would be cool if we started a thread where everyone posts links to websites they've created in iWeb.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've built a few sites with iWeb, and now want to do one for a band. There's a service you can use for building the site that has (supposedly) simple ways to do things like forums, and selling music online using paypal. There is a charge to use their web builder and hosting etc of course, and I already have that covered with mobile me.Cah I accomplish these things in iWeb? Have forums on a site, and set it up so we can sell music on the site using paypal?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on a few sites on my iWeb. I don't have a .mac account so I publish them to a folder and upload to my sites through ftp. My problem is, everytime i click "publish to folder", it publishes ALL my sites and folders, instead of only the ONE i am working on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have put lots of time and effort in my iweb project. Just got a new computer and installed iweb. Following advice in this forums, I copied the Domain.sites2 dir into my new ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb, but iweb still doesn't recognize my project!! It is as if nothing was there
View 1 Replies View RelatedNow that I can no longer publish my iWeb sites via Mobile Me, I have tried to use the ftp server that I pay for through a site hosting service for my business (sitemason). Unfortunately, there is some "redirect" that I cannot find and it creates an index that makes the iWeb pages become my "Home" page. I don't need to override my existing website, I only want the iWeb pages to open when the links to them are accessed. Is this a simple issue or should i just pay some service to publish my iWeb content and keep it nested within my old site?

Does anyone know why my iWeb site renders differently in Safari and Firefox?
Firefox
Safari
Notice Firefox shows the outlines of the text boxes. Is there anyway to correct this? Or is this a problem with Firefox? I believe it renders correctly in Chrome as well.
I have an old pre-Intel G5 Mac desktop and want to keep using Mobile me Mail and Entourage because they work so well and I have been using them for 10 years. I cannot get the mail system to work having moved everything else to iCloud. Followed the instructions but it just does not work and the mail.mac.com server will not accept my password. Any ideas?

Can you publish via FTP using other programs rather then iWeb?
Info:MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
Many years back, I used to have a website on freewebs (now known as web dot com). I would pay a monthly fee to host it and publish directly through their website by accessing my account online. Recently, I visited the site and found it still exists. Only that it has lots of advertisements on it since I don't pay a monthly fee anymore. Now that I have a Mac, I wanted to use iWebs to create a new website. It says I can use MobileMe to publish the website I create with iWebs. So my questions are:
(1) Will MobileMe act as my new host to which I pay the yearly subscription fee?
(2) My previous host had a charge for the amount of gigabytes I published , site traffic (bandwidth), etc., what are my limits for MobileMe?
(3) The main reason I was considering to purchase a MobileMe account is so I can use it as my host for a website published through iWebs '09 since they say thats the easiest way to publish. I would use the other MobileMe non-website features if I bought a subscription, but really would not purchase it unless it was for this website publishing tool. Do you think its worth it?
(4) Is there anything different about using MobileMe as a website host than my previous host (i.e. freewebs)?
(5) I had purchased a website name on GoDaddy which I still own. I used to redirect my freewebs site to this website name I had purchased on GoDaddy. Can I redirect my MobileMe hosted website to this website name I purchased on GoDaddy just like I used to do with my old Freewebs site?
(6) I don't see anything on the MobileMe page at Apple Store giving information about hosting charges, maximum limits, bandwidth, etc. It mostly just talks about publishing photo albums, e-mail, contacts, calendars, etc. Is there anything important I need to know about using MobileMe as my sole host for publishing a website?
Suffering similar problems to many I Web users, I have read the posts, but haven't managed to solve the problem for my own I Web website. Usual thing when publishing to a private domain the site is not appearing when using the domain in a browser, although the [URL] username site is updating fine. I changed the CNAME as advised[URL] Additionally I have changed the web forwarding to [URL] And no joy. Should I be taking both the above steps or is one sufficient?

I am trying to move material created in earlier iWeb (08?) to an FTP server. It is now saved as a web archive. I also have been on mobileme. I am on snow leopard and am not quite ready for lion. I can't seem to find an iweb page in the web archive. To follow the instructions from my new web host I need to have the iweb page that lsts the site name. How can I find this from the web archive? Otherwise I seem to find the content of my iweb-created blog when I open the web archive (in Safari).
